Things you would like to see in GT5 other than cars?

I'd like to create a team in GT Life mode, first and foremost for the higher classes of events, like SuperGT or LMP car racing and the like. Having a wingman with you would be kinda nice, especially if you could give said wingman basic orders (by hiting the d-pad, for example), like blocking the cars behind him, going all out and the like.

Second, race car conversion for all cars, but considering how hard it would be to implement something like that with the current amount of work that's being put into modelling the cars, that'd be a bit too much to ask for.

I really like that idea. I wish PD would include different cars on a team (like they did with the red trimmed and gold trimmed R8 in GT4), it's not hard to add 3 ORECA Vipers when they're the exact same car except one's got white mirrors, one blue and one red, having teams of cars that aren't 100% identical, just 99% identical with the real number and livery trim differences would help this game tenfold.

My thoughts exactly. I've gotta admit, I've ripped that whole idea from GRiD, to a certain extend and I think that there was an NFS game that used wingmen which you could command to a certain degree...
But nonetheless, it's better to copy a good feature than to invent a bad one, isn't it?

basically, being able to equip any car with any upgrade (barring logical exceptions). it's not fair how Japanese cars can equip many of the upgrades and the rest can barely equip ****.

for used cars, they could toss in different transmissions depending on the model year. for example, (assuming the cars are in the game, even if they actually aren't) you'd have all 1993 MKIV Supras with the 4-gear auto, a 1996 SZ-R with the 5-gear shifter and then the usual models from 1997-2002.

basically, actual different configurations. it's boring to have 3 years of the same car. at least if they feature a tangible difference (like my transmission example), it'll give you a reason to buy (or avoid) a particular year over another.

Cockpits for all standard models (I know this issue has been beaten to death)

Weather (Dynamic would be nice, but I just want weather)

I have an idea: The ability to swap parts from certain cars into another car (say putting a Ferrari F2007 engine/drivetrain/brakes and Mazda 787B suspension into a Daihatsu Midget). It's essentially the ability to make hybrids without the need for a Gameshark.

Update: driftking I can't play Forza cause I don't have an Xbox. Got a Wii and a PS2 though.

I would like to see a fully customizable driver that we can make for Career Mode.

Everything from the design of the helmet to shoes to name would be cool.
Sort of like Tourist Trophy?

Pure overkill. 👎 If you want unrealistic drivetrain swaps, go to Forza. Its online community welcome you with open arms, especially with the name "iluvgt4".

I`m for less useless/waste of time cars eg: Daihatsu Midgets,Benz motor carriage etc. Less Model variations eg: 10 R-34 Skyline GT-R`s,Lancer EVO`S & WRX`s. Takes up valuable room for other cars.

And for adding skidmarks, highly desired and essential for the real driving simulation, yetcontinuously and mysterlousy missing.

Grid Girls!

I realy hope that they have harder licens test...

I started with gran turismo 1 and at this point it was hard for me to pass the licens but i was getting better and better and the gran turismo can't fallow my level and i am sure a'lot of peoples have it the same way like me...

Gta 4 was easy and prologue tests was a walkover...

I hope that gt5 have the levels for hardcore drivers, both for licens racing and online... The Prologue online expert mode was not only for experts there was alot of nobbies.. I wan't a race with 16 racers at mine own level...

I realy hope that they have a licens test there is almost imposibble to pass, and online rooms where you can access only if you have that hardcore licens

I'd like to see a good level of customization in single player, but most of all multiplayer. I'd like to be able to choose the time of day the race starts at, and how the weather develops over the course of the race. For example, creating a 15 lap race on the Nurburgring at night with mild weather developing into harsh rain and fog over the duration of the race... oh the possiblities

It'll be great to see people's pit strategies as the weather changes, and if fuel also plays a part in endurance races then it'll be even better...

One thing that I have seen that is totally absent, is a windshield from inside the car. It's just totally empty space between you and the outside world. This bugs me now that there is so much other realistic eye candy. There needs to be a windshield with dynamic weathering: oil, dust, debris, etc., not to mention when your windshield gets cracked or broken from an impact. There's also no glare on the invisible windshield, nor is there glare off the dashboard, which would also reflect in the windshield. And what about rain, with windshield wipers??? I'd be happy if there was a setting to set the level of realism, where you could turn on or off a dynamic windshield. Anyway that's my wish for the full release.

^^Was there a recent interview with Kaz that he mentions about motorbikes may or will be confirmed as a future DLC for GT5?

Gran Turismo has fully embraced itself as an Automobile museum. Having cars that other games wouldn't even dare to touch just goes to show the personality that GT has with the automobile. Keep the midgets and the Benz.

I used to feel the same about the model variations... then I realized I was looking at it the wrong way. Instead of getting rid of already modeled vehicles to "make room" for other cars, I propose a radical idea! Keep the repetition of models and expand it to include more cars! I'd love to see multiples of Mustangs, Corvettes, Camaros, Falcons, Commodores, 3-Series and Golf/GTI's!

Besides, if any of the automakers need a slim-lining on repetitive automobiles, it's Honda!

Honda CIVIC SiR-II (EG) 1991
Honda CIVIC SiR-II (EG) 1992
Honda CIVIC SiR-II (EG) 1993
Honda CIVIC SiR-II (EG) 1995

Honda CIVIC TYPE R (EK) 1997
Honda CIVIC TYPE R (EK) 1998
Honda CIVIC TYPE R (EP) 2001
Honda CIVIC TYPE R (EP) 2004

Honda INTEGRA TYPE R (DC2) 1995
Honda INTEGRA TYPE R (DC2) 1998
Honda INTEGRA TYPE R (DC2) 1999

Honda NSX 1990
Honda NSX 1993
Honda NSX 1995
Honda NSX 1997
Honda NSX 1999

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have any and every one of those automobiles in my garage (the DC2 ITR being one of my favorite FWD vehicles ever).... but I just don't see the point. At the very least labeling them as separate automobiles. It's as if GT was trying to buffer their car count.

It would be really awsome if a template pack with a basic template for every car is put up for download so we can make our own designs on the cars and them import them back into the game.

Fully agree Snaeper. I like having a choice of skylines. Saying there's too many skylines is almost like being annoyed that PD "wasted time" giving us too many choices of paint colours.

More statistics,

- who made the fastest lap (live, not only after the race)
- the time to the car behind me
- the time to the car in FRONT of me, not only the time to #1 car
- fastest top speed for every car

and much more statistics. It´s boring to see the time difference to #1 car and your own fastest lap...

1. Series Creator. It'd be cool to choose your tracks, the cars you want to race with and maybe even post it online so anyone else could race as well. Maybe even password protect it so you can have a people sign up and run it. It'd make holding the online racing series easier.

2. Infinite Top Times. this would be useful for the Top Gear track and any p2p tracks.

For people that played the first Gran Turismo, there was a ghost car feature where you can make record times with different ghost cars. That feature was never continued to the later Gran Turismos. Instead, you could only race against the same ghost car.

They should bring back the one they had Gran Turismo 1.
