Things you would like to see in GT5 other than cars?

I've seen Aero push in a lot of games. Can't remember if it was in GT4. (I think it was though.) There's also draft-pull. Where, when you're drafting your car wants to follow the car your drafting...even if it's into a wall.

Also: This track:

But without the toxic exhaust fumes. :ouch:

👍 I've always wanted something like that in GT. The ability to create a total mayhem pickup session :)

And I reckon my girlfriends car finishes third in that video too, just to add to the fun
:P

Thanks analog! It's amazing they haven't given us something like that, really; the garage view very nearly provides it, and there's really very little work that would need to be done. Considering we've been given some high-res images of cars in a very similar setting though... maybe? :D

Yeah, creating a big white room might not be the hardest thing I suppose.
I thought of a new location idea however which they also strangely didn't offer as it's a bit obvious at least to me, an underground car park with moody lightning and tons of concrete ( and possibly "fluids" left by tramps ).

Exhaust fumes, especially those Diesel LMPs.

Debris, track marshalls, Flag bearer, especially for those NASCAR races. Tv crews on big events.

WRC FXPRO Girls!

How about downloadable Photomode locations? I'd also like to see the ability to take pictures of more than one car in each photo shoot, in case I feel like using that in a GT5 story.

I'd be all for something like that too (minus the fluids  ). An gritty industrial setting would be a nice change of pace from the all-too-clean locations currently shown. Something like the Fish Market in GT4, but uglier, if that makes sense.

Seriously, considering the dark setting they've been using for the high-res stock images of the Nascars and stuff (as seen on the News page here), surely it'd be a cinch to just give us access to that place too.

Come on those fluids make it look alive ;), but I agree since that Fish Market setting was one of my favourite photo-mode locations as most other locations were indeed either a bit too clean, touristy or a bit too "fairy tale" for my liking.
Maybe liking gritty industrial settings or decaying empty buildings ( which make a good contrast to the shiny car models in my opinion ) can be seen to be an unhealthy deviation to many but there you go.

Another two things I would love in GT5 is Donnington Park and better sound output to optical output , because in Prologue I had no subwoofer output through my 6.1 surround sound Sony STR-DG700 amplifier with 6 speakers and 1 360watt subwwoofer.

Does anybody remember this? In GT3, when you are in a dealership, and you're browsing through all the cars, underneath where it mentions the price, it gives a little bit of history about the car. I think that in GT5, you should be able to access a "History" page, which enables you to find out facts about the car.

Here's an example: let's say I'm about to buy a Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 in the used car lot. I would like to be able to open a page which gives a detail account of its history, such as its racing history and other details such as information on its engine, drivetrain, chassis, and maybe a bit on its cult status.

GTPSP does this under "specs".

After spending so much time in Photo Mode in GT4, a free roaming camera! including height adjustment. Those fixed positions are a pain.

Apparantly we're getting some sort of free roam option in the form of actual walking around in first person ( it was mentioned at E3 ).

Online car market. I think it would be cool if I was able to put my own price on used cars or auction them and let the market set the price.

I want actual garages. I hate flipping through cars with a blank background. I'd love to see Kaz and the beauty he's created allow us to put cars on display at our "house" or " garage" that we could free roam around and view all of our cars parked in some sort of garage type setting like you could in PGR.

That to me would be fantastic and with such an emphasis on photo mode, I would think this would be something that PD would really consider, pull off wonderfully and would really help build a feeling of depth within the game!

In addition...I'd also like to see them have dealerships you could walk around instead of simply listing the cars available. These cars are way too good looking to just display them in a list type setting. I want to be able to walk into a Ferrari dealership and see all the cars in a show room like environment.

It would also be neat to have a car show online, depending on the depth of customization to see other people cars and possibly take photos to see what you'd like to do to yours later for ideas or simply for some great pictures of your car in a car show like setting.

A bit off topic, but I was just thinking:

What features would I like to see on :gtplanet: to support the game? Specifically I was thinking of things that might not be in the game, but that we could compensate for here.

For example, if there is no online league play built into the game, we could manage that like WRS.

Another thing I was thinking of was car reviews. One thing I really didn't like in GT4 was the fact that we couldn't test drive cars. It might be cool if people posted reviews for different cars, and compared them to each other so that we could choose what the best 'next buy' would be in career mode. This might be useful, especially since we will have more cars at our fingertips than ever before.

Another option that would be great is the ability to test drive a car with a few bends and a long straight. That way it would make it easier to choose your car for certain events that are restricted to a certain car type.

I have found something interesting here, http://www.ebw.gr/el-GR/Product/544...l-HD-Edition-αναμένεται-(κυκλοφορία-Οκτώβριος

# Although little is known, Gran Turismo HD looks to once again set the standard for sim racing games
# HD resolution delivers lifelike trees, spectators, surfaces and more
# Choose from a wide selection of cars and superbikes
# Slated for release in 2009, Sony has released very few details about Gran Turismo HD
# Built for the PS3, the game runs for the first time in 1920x1080 progressive scan mode for ultra-realistic gameplay

what do you guys think?

PGR2 had that option. You could do hot laps around a nice test track to gauge it's performance. They also had the walk around show room and Garage as well, they were showy bits but I certainly enjoyed them.

There were screens originally depicting menu selections with cars and motorcycles... but I think PD has moved away from that. Nevertheless that would be a fun ace up it's sleeve if they were to release motorcycles in the game with the cars. Although I would hate to see cars and bikes on the track at the same time as realism would be seriously sacrificed for Arcade.

thank you for the heads up amar212 👍

i was just thinking that maybe that is the surprise PD are talking about, and maybe one of the reasons for all the delays.

I agree that seeing both cars and bikes onscreen together would somewhat spoil the realism, but each vehicle in its own class would be interesting.

I Know. I own PGR 2, 3 and 4.
