Let me set the scene: France, Rallye de Serrians, a Renault... The driver takes to the course...he bounces off the rev limiter, the navigator honks his ludicrous horn...more rev limiter abuse then, disaster. The car is dead by the side of the road.

What happens next is the stuff of legend, check it out.

A mere snapped throttle cable was not going to hold this road warrior back... I mean, sitting on top of the engine operating the throttle while your navigator drives does not make perfect sense to you?

👍 Epic. Truly Epic.

That takes a sort of determination only seen in cartoons.

Reminds me of a story my dad told me. Back in his old '73 super beetle his throtle cable broke right by the pedal so he just grabed one of the locking presure wrenches, clamped it in place and drove it like that for a week until my grandparents noticed and gave him money to fix it.

And one time my moms suzuki sidekick broke a throtle cable and we used like 4 shoe laces tied together through a window as a throtle cable.

That's the 2nd time I've seen that, the other one was posted a few weeks ago on autoblog. Can't believe the balls on some people.

I love the way the navigator gets in and does up the belts. He's thinking about safety! ROFL!

Epic.
