I'll be keeping an eye on the thread and updating this OP with relevant tunes etc over the period of the TT.

**NOTE**. This TT was run with elevated PP levels of update 2.10 that were reverted to update 2.09 levels with the introduction of update 2.11 (!!)
Therefore these times are not representative of the current performance points of GT5.

I'm as giddy as a school girl right now. Can't wait to get home tonight and try this!!!!

I'm sure top 10 will be 2:10-2:11ish on spa. Are there differences in which NASCAR to pick? Are certain ones faster then others?

Already got the gold. LOL second attempt with a Nissan fairlady z 300zx tt 2 seater 89 model. 398pp 252bhp timing of 1:11:935 and ranked 16th. LOL no doubt many people will do better than me, but it was a fairly easy race....

cargo will be happy i bet!:D

That's exactly what I thought.

The Tsukuba TT looks like fun. :)

No. I think In the last NASCAR TT there were many different models on the leaderboards.

Love Spa! will be even more fun with NASCAR.

I suspect the '89 Nissan GTS-t with Lewis_Hamilton's tune will be fast on Tsukuba. From memory he was running 1.05?-1.09 in a seasonal race.

PS Thanks rippn 'silk for putting up the closing date! It makes life much easier for those of us who get beaten with the guilt stick by the misses every time we go near the PS3

I was just wondering when a NASCAR event would make its way into the Seasonal department. I've been meaning to tune one and here's my chance.

The 80's one was a piece of cake. Took the Z from the NCD and only added a few nonPP parts...otherwise stock with no tune save for adjusting the transmission. Super slick around the corners, but got gold after a few laps.

Me too, I wonder if people will be applying wheelbarrow tunes to the NASCAR's the way they do with every other car bar the F1's?

Also looking forward to seeing how fast Cargo can go TBH. I heard he has a good tune.

Got to dust off a Nascar car, haven't use one since a time trial on Autumn Ring a long time ago. Upped the downforce and added a little ballast. For Tsukuba I ran a stock 205 Maxi Turbo. Got the golds, will try tomorrow to see how much quicker I can get.

I personally believe there are differences. Far more measurable on an oval than a road course, so it doesn't surprise me that the leaderboards would be rainbowed. I also feel that the differences may relate to tune, rather than car in it's base form, but who knows.

New TT page is up, and the NASCAR page has been sorted into categories for quite some time now, quite a few of which are from the WRS @ Indy Road Course from quite a while ago now, but... who knows.

2:19s with almost stock, newly bought 2011 Brian Vickers Camry at 0 miles -no ABS :), only altering the gearing and aero, easy gold ...

Got the gold a Tsukuba with my Sprinter Trueno GT-APEX '83. Car is a fun drive but don't think it really has what it takes to be a real contender.
Going to start trying some others out now and see if I can find a more serious challenger.

:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::cheers::D

Thanks for the good news.👍

As I've said in the previous thread, SRF has always been forced off in the TT's just for your information :)

Anyways, I got a 1:07.8 on Tsukuba with no real tune other than power, weight, and transmition modifications in the R32 Skyline. I will try Spa tomorrow.

2:21.066 with Dale's Impala and a gammon tune. Found it was better with hardly any added weight.

Will be interesting to see the tunes posted here.

I would suggest around a 25/60 aero, no ballast, LSD 15/15/5, Front ride height -10, dampers all 1, ARB5/6, Camber 2.2/1.8, Toe +15/0 and if your not adverse to it TCS1. Ran a 1:20.1XX with that and know it's good for a lot more but just don't have the patience to try fine tuning it. Got my gold and probably done with Spa.
Now off to find something entertaining for Tsukuba.:lol:

hey Allan your thread did the trick!👍
last thread spanned over 40 pages, its nice to have the info in the starting post as a quick reference.
oh and :cheers:happy birthday Jordan!!

hope this tt will be as fun as the last one! I'm sure Mitch was praying for a Nascar event!!

Just an FYI:

The Toyota Supra 3.0 GT Turbo A '88 will do a gold time (1:12:110 sleep deprived hehe), but it's squirrely in every corner, even the slight left after the tire arch. A very light touch is required on the throttle to tame the thing. It's not tuned, so that may have been part of it. :)

Additional info: I boosted the HP with an ECU and the three Exhaust upgrades (398 PP). I bought all of the Drivetrain, Transmission, and Suspension items, but did not adjust them. I might have made things worse, as I don't know what I'm doing for the most part and I need sleep right now. ;) hehe

This car has some potential, if the handling could be tamed a bit. I just wish I knew how. Maybe I'll read some tuning guides tomorrow. . . well. . . later today, I mean. :D

P.S. Happy Birthday, Jordan.

And the fresh Advanced Leaderboards:

I see doodle's got his Skyline GTS-t type M (R32) '89 (standard) in second place and there are 4 in the top ten.
There's a Fairlady Z 300ZX TT 2seater (Z32) '89 (premium) on pole and 2 in the top ten and the 300ZX 2seater (Z32) '89 (standard) is at #5
and the Eunos Roadster (NA Special Package) '89 (premium) has 3 in the top 10.

These 3 are the most heavily represented in the top 50 - about 90% I'd say.

Nice to see Spa 👍 Hope I can get time for a wheel session on this one, DS3 and NASCAR is a bit leary for me - I usually have to resort to TC and possibly ABS.

Also looking forward to delving into the furthest reaches of the garage for some 80's oddities. :dopey:

Working on an RX-7 tune currently that should be quite competitive. Gotten my time down to 1:09.799 with a lot of room for improvement in both the tune and my driving.( I'm not a very good driver:lol::drool:)
When I feel I've got the tune where I want it I'll post it here.👍👍

Edit:1:09.564:D

Thinking I'm going to have a lot of fun with this TT tuning different cars for it.

Spa is a power track, so I imagine you'll need a fully run in car with a coupe of oil changes to max the power, then ballast it back to reach the ppt limit and adjust the ballast position to fine tune the balance.

Has anyone tried this yet? What's the NASCAR feel like round Spa? More or less traction than the Vette? Understeery or oversteery balance?

Can't wait to try it, but it's likely going to be tomorrow night before I can have my 1st go.

Nothing has less traction than the 'Vette
These cars remind me of the Space Shuttle. Flying bricks. I get the impression this will be about getting all that weight to dance through the chicanes and braking heavily for those sharper corners. It stays on track well enough through Pouchon. Some porn for you while you wait ;):

1st gear on entry to Les Combes, hold this to the 2nd apex, then change up to 2nd (stops the car running wide on the left part).

1st gear for Bruxelles entry, quick change to 2nd, then down to 1st again for turn in to the left hander... then up to 2nd before the apex.

2nd for Pouhon entry, 3rd once the car has turned and is settled.

1st for Fagnes entry, hold this to 2nd part of the complex... take 2nd on the exit.

1st for entry to Stavelot, 2nd on the kerbing... you need to feather the throttle through the 2nd part of Stavelot and run slightly wide on the exit.

managed a 2:16.8xx around spa.. I'm surprised at how much grip this thing has.. maybe i'm just used to that Vette in the last TT ?? heh..

Still trying to find a way to get traction down better but it really holds well thru the corners if you get your line right..

Haven't tried the TT yet, but I've tried the NASCAR on Spa plenty of times as it's one of my favorite cars and my favorite track in GT5. Actually the NASCARs handle excellent around road courses in general, and also around Spa. I seem to remember that Eau Rouge was a challenge though in this car, which is always good of course. 👍
