To those who bought GT4 and/or PS2 from play-asia.com...

talk about being gay....my one is definately gayest....i bought my asia PS2 and GT4 asia-Japanese version on wednesday....(btw im new to this board so be friendly)....shipped on thursday but probably wont arrive until tomorrow or wednesday due to customs stuff and the stupid weekend!! which means a whole week with UPS!!! :ouch: next time im gonna og with couriers that work on weekends too :indiff:

I don't know..*begins scratching his cheek gently* I've never really had a problem out of Play-Asia till this shipment ^.^;...they are a very reliable source. I guess this game,being shipped around the holidays and such was just kind of delayed and such. I've never really had a problem out of them before this shipment though,soooo..*shrugs* I don't know..I'd still pick them over others =D. Hmmm..I've heard of lik-sang,but never tried them. Maybe some day?

Hey, no problem HYBRIDLVR.
I'll have to look that store up some day.
The trimming of the cord I was talking about is because the US PS2 I have (one of the first) has a flat side & round side to the part that plugs into the back of the PS2 & the cord that plugs into the power adapter for the (J) PS2 is double rounded (no flat side) so I had to trim the flat side so it's round to fit the power adapter. Today I bought an adapter to use the original cord that came with the (J) PS2.......or I could just cut off the end & put a US plug end on, but I want to keep the cord original.

I wonder if they're shipping us the racing packs, or the two seperate. I guess your gonna get the pack, but I bet they took my response and are sending me the two seperate. I kinda want that racing pack now, to have something special after waiting an extra two weeks.

I'm 100% it is the pack. If I wanted two seperate things i would have order that. They enver offered me that deal, though I have a cheaper price than what the packs are listed on the site. As soon as I orer the price went up $30....

UPS says it will be here tomorrow. Given my experience with UPS I highly doubt that. We will see.
 
i just want to add to the feedback for play-asia.com, i ordered GT4 on Jan 6 and got it today (Jan 11), so pretty quick shipping only problem was it wasn't packaged with enough bubble wrap, my box and dvd case got cracked, but luckily the disc was ok, so i'm happy

but now i need a ps2 to play it on, i think i will give lik-sang a try
 
I live in Ca. Also, I drove down to Japanese Games on Las Tunas and Mission in San Gabriel, It's on the shelf! Two weeks ago!!!
 
I'm trying to hold out for the US version of GT4 (if SONY ever decides to release it) but I ordered the GT4 Memory Card and GT4 Bible from play-asia.com just now.
 
I know this is a little off-topic,but in the Japanese Hall,what are the requirements to enter the J's Race? It's the one right below 90's. I was just wondering,because I've tried entering with my WRX,R32,and AE86..no luck o.o...any tips? Thanks in advance ^.^

"ALL" these things? It's really not that much..it just looks nifty =D! But anyways...going from the top left item in the picture to the right:

1. This is the case for the game -.-'
2. This is a little box,that looks as if it could fit 2 DVD cases inside..this has item number 3 which is a Reference Guide (which I will explain about in a moment) and the case stacked on top of each other
3. Reference Guide - This is a very nice thick book. 209 Pages to be exact and it provides information on the game developers,some comments and such (sorry,couldn't read much of it,haha..it's hard to understand ^.^; ) but it also explains about the tuning system in the game,along with how well certain tyres are. Very useful when deciding on which ones you should buy (since it tells you about how long they will last..how many laps anyways) and it also gives an introductory to some of the cars in the game as well,some nice little pictures with it ^.^
4. starting from the bottom left now,this would be your Instruction Manual. Haven't really flipped through it much,but I'm guessing that since the Reference Guide refers to tuning and everything else..Instruction just gives you controls for default
5. This is obviously..the game ~_~
6. This is a little book that they added inside the case of your game,behind the Instruction Manual. It tells a little bit about how to take photos on the game,then print them out from your computer. Really neat add on I say =^.^=! It also explains about a couple of cars in the book as well and little miscellaneous information as well,that wouldn't belong to the Instruction Manual OR Reference Guide =D. Hope this helps ^.^

I guess you're talking about the GT4 retail packaging...
There's a chance the US retail version will not get the extra booklet because if I remember correctly, GT3 US version didn't have an extra book right? So maybe SCEA might not put it into the american one :\

The Japanese version of GT3 has the extra book just like GT4 :)
 
yeah,that kinda sucks V_V...we should get the stuff too,buuuuut...eh -.-'. This is why I import most of my stuff. To keep it original XD! Kinda like how the Japanese version of GT4 has some really good music on it ^.^. But you know when it comes to the States,it'll have the "well known" groups on there. Such as..Green Day,Avril,Blink 182,Deftones maybe?,Incubus,Nickelback,etc. You guys get what I'm saying. But..oh well...at least we'll be getting the game,eh...sometime o.o

My racing bundle showed up today form Play-asia. It was shipped on the 10th, delivered on the 12th...HK to NYC in 2 days, not bad.

More later, after 4 hours of playing my eyes are blurry.

I ordered the game from Lik-Sang

Tuesday, January 11th - ordered it in the evening with 2-4 day UPS delivery
Wednesday - 12th - Order status changed from Order recieved to Order Processed.
Thursday - 13th - Early morning, status changed to shipped. Should be here by monday.

:D

No to get my friend to install my DMS4 Pro :D
