My racing bundle showed up today form Play-asia. It was shipped on the 10th, delivered on the 12th...HK to NYC in 2 days, not bad.

More later, after 4 hours of playing my eyes are blurry.

Amen on the blurry eyes part! I need me some serious money, so I can buy the SLR

It's HERE !...

My GT4chn arrived today... My old V30004, chipped with a DMS4pro by yours truly - works !....

I've died and gone to heaven !...

Talk to you all in a few months....

Am I right in saying you can play imported PS2's on your computer monitor, so long as you buy a converter? My TV won't support NTSC, and I am seriously considering ordering the racing pack from Play-Asia... my patience for the PAL version has run out :(

Just buy a cheapo TV Card like the Pinnacle PCTV Stereo. Works tons better than the cheap "upscalers"... Read This Thread !...

I ordered mine prior to Dec 28, and got it before like the 30th.

However, I also ordered a GT4 Memory Card, prepaid thru Paypal, and still havnt received it as of today, 1/28/2005. Apparenly, its back-ordered til whenever. :(

Thanks Flerbizky, that's what I was looking for.... now all I've got to do is decide whether to fork out over £200 just to get GT4 a month early! :) I guess I can always sell it on once I get the PAL version....

Cheers,
TM

P.S. I have also ordered a couple of GT4 memory cards... f00k knows when I'll see them :ouch:

Nice! Wicked car... I haven't seen that before.... I wish I had ordered all of this in December, it now seems a bit late considering that the PAL release is now looking certain to be March 9th...

As a matter of interest, I wonder how many people who have imported consoles especially for GT4 will try to sell them later in the year...?

Including delivery, I'm looking at £178 just for the console and game, plus another £50 for the converters and TV card (which I'd keep), so I'd be looking to re-sell the console and game in March for about £150... although, I realise that might be hugely optimistic... one advantage of the racing pack from Play-Asia is that it is pretty collectible, i.e. it comes in a GT4 livery box, and so could fetch a bit more than a regular console... or am I kidding myself?

Question, for the Racing Pack, will I need any special adapters to hook it up to my TV or is it basically 100% plug and play out of the box?

I have a Samsung DLP TV with all the regular a/v, component, s-video inputs.

Do you all live on top of a mountain?

Two orders delivered 2nd day air from Hong Kong to New York.

TWO DAYS.

As in: I had GT4 last year, from Play-asia...

I assume you meant that you had GT4 Prologue last year because that was released like December of 2003. The actual Gran turismo 4 game was just released in some countries like Japan last month and still waiting in the U.S.

I pre-ordered my Gran Turismo 4 through YesAsia.com. I paid $64 for the game and it was free shipping. It came out the 28th of December and I got it around New Year's. I been playing ever since. I have noticed that the price went up to $80 at Yes Asia the last time I was on their website like two weeks ago.

Also will my current SONY PS2 component cable for my US PS2 work with the Japanese PS2?

Anyone?

I think everything is compatible except the power cords. I noticed the Japanese PS2 have a different shaped plug going into the back of the machine. But, memory card, controller wise you should be OK. I have most of my GT games on the same memory card. I had to put GT4 on my wife's card because this game appears to take more space on your card. I don't know if it's because of the new features like Photo Mode or not. I just started playing after New Year's and am still working on getting my licenses. I am only working on one car right now and that is the 1990 CRX from the japaese used car lot. I am wanting to get the De Lorean and see what I can do with that.

Hmmm, I too am waiting for a GT4 Memory Card, but the website now says 'Out of stock/Out of print' instead of 'back-ordering'... :grumpy:

I ordered the special GT4 memory card from them about four weeks ago and they still haven't sent it. Apparently, they ran out of them on the day I placed my order and they are having problems getting more. I'm rather sad/mad.

Oh well, no GT4 Memory Cards for me then... :grumpy:

Just got this email from Play-Asia.com....
