Has onyone seen this new air combat game, just looking for your reviews of it.

Is it going to be a PS3 title or Xbox 360 release.

Well it doesn't come out till next year but there is some nice looking game footage on YouTube.

I saw Gamespots coverage on it at E3 and I must say I was impressed, many people are saying though that its an absolute clone of ace combat just just looks prettier... TBH thats fine with me and I like the tie in with the GRAW universe and it basically continues were GRAW2 ended.

I pass, TOM Clansy use to be known for good simulation games such as then First few RAINBOW SIX games, now its total flop build games for the masses. I will pass. I am sticking with PC sim flight games.

Agreed, though Ive always been partial to the Ace Combat series, pity they have yet to make a new one for the PS3.

There is a Ace combat comming to PS3, Thay are re-releasing the Xbox 360 version Ace combat 6 for the PS3 sometime in 2009

Really? Yay! I was hoping Namco would do what they did with Ridge Racer and release another game for the PS3.

Yeah Ace Combat was my FAV console flight game. Sure it is not a sim, but it's ace combat so it is expected to be like that.. TOM clansey should be expected for SIM's not arcades.

Hopefully the Flight Stick and Throttle controller from the Special Edition Ace Combat 5 will work with both Ace Combat 6 and Hawx.

Kool people i was thinking about it and do you reckon you can use the logitech g25 and button map the pedals to control the turning like in real life?

In real life, planes don't have steering wheels
Roll and yaw would be possible to map on a steering wheel + pedals, but what about pitch?

And the demo is only available on the xbox360 for now.
We have to wait another 2 weeks.

Before I wrote I will skip on the game. Now, since no news of Ace Combat for PS3.. I might buy the game if the score is higher then 8.0/10

Forget Hawx, this is the only flight sim worth waiting for - IL2:Bird of Prey (trailer). 👍

If anyone has played the IL2 series on the PC, then they will know what to expect. 1C has almost a decade of experience creating superbly detailed and ultra realistic flight sims. Their latest release, IL2:1946, is (for me), one of the finest, if not the finest ever combat flight sims ever created. 👍

If IL2:Bird of Prey can keep true to the PC original, then I reckon it will be a COD4 for the skies! A must buy for any budding flightsim enthusiast! 👍

The AC series is still one of my favorite flight-sim games, but that looks great as well!

Some of the DLC custom paint schemes for AC6 are a really nice addition.

What would be better though is the ability to create your own like Forza 2. 👍

ON the PC version, you can have custom pain schemes, the game comes preloaded with many too. Obviously it won't be as simple(!) to do them on the PS3 as it is on the PC, but we can always hope. 👍

I'm not really into Jet flight sims as most of the hard work is done for you. IL2 though, is in a different league altogether, because you literally have to line up your shots. No auto lock, no missiles to get you kills, just fancy flying, and and some very good shooting skills.

I've played IL2 on the PC for a couple of years off and on, and I can tell you straight that it is damn frustrating trying to get a kill! This is not a bad thing as the game does reward hard work, but you have to be prepared to put a LOT of work into it to get anywhere near good. From my personal experiences, I have learned that before I can even think about getting a kill, I have to think about how I'm going to stay alive! The pro's out there can kill your with a single head shot as they buzz past you (I struggle to hit the plane, never mind the pilot in the plane!)

I seriously believe that when IL2 comes to the consoles, it will bring with it a moment of clarity, similar to that which followed the original Gran Turismo.

Lol i know that ive ordered myself a flight stick already, i just thought that it may be possible to attatch the pedals aswell.

Where are people hearing that ace combat is coming to the ps3 i can't find any information on it

Hey matey do you play il2? On HL? I have played it for 4-5 years online, and about 8 years offline since original IL2 and cant wait for Il2BoP on ps3 it looks amazing. Also of course Olegs BoB game, whenever that comes out...It's almost as funny as GT5. Thanks for posting the trailer.

The Hori Flight Sticks don't work. I tried all three modes... all it does is brings up a message on the PS3 saying "unknown USB device".

Other than that, the game looks good. I love the Ghost Recon style HUDs and the "assist" mode actually works, although I still prefer a first person HUD only vew. The combat mission in the demo seems standard Ace Combat-style... air targets, ground targets, bombers, boss target. I laughed when the first wave of bombers came in over the city. Oh, Gawd... not this **** again.

If the Hori sticks worked with HAWX, this would be a buy for me. Since it does not, I'll add it to my GameFly queue.

The more I'm playing this the more determined I am to get it. It's good fun and the dogfights with the other aircraft are great fun, even if the missles have auto-lock but there is a cannon that you can use. Although it's difficult. The variety of planes from different countries intrest me too, the fact that I can be flying a Harrier and in the full game then fly the Eurofighter (which is based not far from my house) is a prospect I quite like the sound of. It just seems a fun game to play, its currently on my rental list but I can either me or my Brother buying this game when it's released.

I got the demo to before my internet was cut off at my old place. It looks ok but the motion controls stink. I might pick it up but I'm running out of funds till next pay day.
