Why would you want the confederate bikes? I realise this will probably upset a good few americans, but Harley engines are seriously backward in technology (apart from the V-rod, but that's hardly cutting edge). They might look good, but if you're going to have a harley-based thing go for a buell, but even then it won't be anywhere when compared to anything slightly spoty and japanese/italian/uk/etc.

I really hope they don't put too many (if any) harleys in the game - they are the ultimate in all-show, no-go. Poor power, poor brakes, poor handling, poor ground clearance. They're great for posing on, but unless it goes all need-for-speed I doubt you'll get posing points.

Because they look cool, and are interesting from an industrial design standpoint. Diversity is good. GT wouldn't be GT without all its "slower" cars. I'm assuming all the really fast bikes will be in the game by default. I'd like TT to be like a virtual history of bikes, like GT is for cars. I'd really like to know what the hell is so bad about INCLUDING more and interesting bikes...

Look, I'm not American, and even I understand things like Harleys represent a really important chapter in the history of motorcycles and should be included.

The logical endpoint of your argument is that GT should only have the race cars, everything else is far too slow and cumbersome. Take out the tank car, the trucks, the econo hatches, the funny Motor Carriage and Wagon, do away with the muscle cars... you'd end up with a pretty uninspired dull game IMO.

Buell must be included!! I want a Buell Firebolt XB12R!! With the cool outer rim front disc and the cool exhaust wich is under the bike in the centre! Oh and you can get them supercharged for relatively little money

Heres a couple of pics!

James, you take the point too far.

It'd be good to have a couple of harleys in the game. What I'm saying is not to have masses of harley-engined bikes. To draw a comparison with GT4 it would be like having an uninspiring engine such as that in a Renault Clio in a multitude of shells such as the Nike car, the triathlon car, the motor carriage, etc.

Sure, have the odd one or two, but the space would be better used putting real diversity in with a few of the older bikes. I'd rather see a Kawasaki 750 turbo, Suzuki Katana, Yamaha RD350LC than a Harley Electra Glide, Super Wide Glide, Fat Boy Glide, Super Wide Fat Glide Electra Boy Glide (etc.) - or a repeat of the Skyline fetish, only with harleys.

I know I took the point too far, but...

The thing is, ANY extra non-japanese cars/bikes/whatever are gonna be comparitively rare in any Polyphony Digital game. We should be encouraging any inclusion of non-japanese vehicles. There is no chance (realistically) we'd end up with loads of harleys or similar bikes. I mean, there are only 2 models of confederate bikes for Gods sake! They look way cool, why not? The game is still gonna feature predominantly fast racey japanese, italian, UK bikes.... so I think there isn't cause for alarm, no matter how many Americans may want TT to be a Harley racing simulator!

Its like worrying that as soon as PD include a Dodge RAM, GT would all of a sudden turn into a truck racing simulator...

Christofire, the old Katana is in- check out my screenie in the main thread. My desire is for the six cylinder Kat concept that will be outed at the Tokyo Motor show.:dopey:

I'm not into bikes. But if should wish one, it would be this one.

BMW R1200CC/Montauk. Looks to die for but it doesn't have the grunt to compete with other cruiser bikes. Then again, you don't buy one of these to be noisy, fat, and smell. You buy one to pose. I'd have that bike in HK too... If only PD modeled some cruising roads like the roads in the New Territories of HK or coming down from the Peak on Hong Kong Island.

Personally, I'm hoping they included some BMW bikes like the K1200 S or K1200 R.

Welcome to GTP, EAGuy. I’d say that there is an excellent chance that the beemers will be included, as Polyphony Digital and BMW fostered a strong relationship during the making of GT4 and the 1 Series demo. 👍

I'll take the S...

We can all thank Nissan for not making a motorbike. Otherwise we would end up seeing 57 models of a 'ZS1' with special paintjobs being the only real difference. I have a much broader wish. I wish for PD to pepper each of the manufacturer's with roughly the same number of bikes. Don't jack with us like they did the Chevrolet Corvette in GT4 or the Ford Mustang. BMW makes more than 2 motorcycles, Aprillia, Ducatti, Buel. Ducatti most of all. Only a 996? What about the other 10~15 bikes they've created over the years. I wish for PD to NOT saturate a game with 7 different Honda CBR 600s and only 1 Ducatti or 1 Triumph. Even out the playing field. 💡

You forgot ZS1 V-Spec and ZS1 V-Spec II

I'd like to see TVR's new bike.

ZS1 V spec II NUR, ZS1 M spec, ZS1 N1 etc.

Once again we will see a Japanese majority of bikes, I hope more world bikes will be included aswell as older bikes.

Now that we have Ducati/MV- I’m hoping for some of the bikes that PD was snapped testing at one of the Motegi GT4 test days. See RVF750 and VTR1000. I currently own a '99 Firestorm. (See bottom)

RC45…where? Seems that we have another V4 fan amongst us. I’ll take Kocinski’s winning Castrol RVF. I almost shed a tear when Honda dumped the V4 for the RC51. :(
isnt the red bike on the right a rc45? but, yeah, me too. the rc45 looked good in smokin' joes colours.
Oh dear, how did I miss the upside downies.:dunce: Well, it looks like one of our favs may just be in.

FatAssBR
Nice bike you have there. 👍
Thanks Fatty. The sound it makes is rather antisocial. :embarrassed:

I want to see my Ducati Monster on the Nordschleife, like this:

I was there on September 1st this year, with 180 other bikers.

Denis

Nice Duke- what exhaust system is that? Thunder, can you give us some impressions of the real ring vs the version in GT4? How was the karussel on a bike? How many laps did you get in?

Uh i did six laps, because the track was closed three or more time due to crashes. I for myself saw six bikes (with the riders near them) laying on the ground. I heard that at least one car has made a turnover and landed on the roof. (But cars and bike were seperated, 1h bikes then 1h cars and so on) The drivers were to different the ones with a 30hp a no expirience of the nordschleife and the others with +170hp under the seat and knowing every bump on the ring. And these bumps are ... CRAZY, the first lap is, everytime (for me the 2nd) just one IMPRESSION, the track is wide so you don't feel the speed and the you look on the speedo and uh.. 170+ kph. In the Fuchsröhre for example i almost kissed my bike, and at Flugplatz you almost loose contact and those feelings are just great. No game can give them to you.

Denis

Edit: It's a SIL Megapipe Pic Sound MAD!!!

I'd love to do the Ring on the bike, but I think a trip on four wheels first might not be a bad idea. :) Sounds like you had a blast, Thunder. I'll have to check the vid when I get home.

P.S. Samberto, Thunder - fancy posting your bikes up in This Thread ? :)

Any clue when TT is going to hit the US?

In typical PD fashion I fully expect to see EVERY gixxer ever made along with every ninja, YZF/FZR, and CBR. Kinda like the skyline, evo, and WRX overload from the GT games.

Some bikes I would like to see

CX500 (older honda that was a lot like a moto-guzzi, im kinda partial as I have one)

Triumph Bonneville (pretty sure this will make it)

maybe some old nortons, or BSAs

I hope we dont get screwed with MotoGP bikes, like they screw us in GT with F1 cars, would love to see Hayden's RC211V in there.

Perhaps a dirt mode in the fashion of GTs rally mode would be nice.

I know there are going to be supermoto bikes (saw a DRZ-400SM on the site), not a big jump to have actual MX/Enduro bikes with some dirt tracks.

the ability to customize your rider is a nice touch, especially having genuine brand name leathers and helmets available.

Brand name upgrade parts would be cool but Im not holding out on that one.

I hope the AI is realistic, in real life on a track there is only a small difference in performance between a 600 and a literbike, I have seen guys on 600s and literbikes get left in the dust by 250s in technical sections (in a tight section it is 25% bike and 75% rider skill).

Also hope they dont screw up the controls. Give us proper brake controls with seperate front and rear braking, steering will of course not be right but that is hard to replicate in a video game, should still be fun. Look at it this way, probably 90% of the people who will buy this game dont ride motorcycles much less know how to steer one at speed (how many non riders are gonna know that at speed your steering is effectively backwards)

Honda’s quirky transverse twin! One of the first bikes that I rode as a young chap- though I think I’ll stick with the Guzzies for horizontal V action. :)

I was thinking about that too, it'd be quite nice if it was at least an option to 'invert' the steering so left is right and right is left. It'd feel much more normal to have some proper counter-steering available.

As for bikes I'd just like to see a wide selection and some good ludicrously powerful stuff, ideally MotoGP bikes. If there was an equivalent to the rally stuff in GT that'd be fantastic.

Holy crap how could anyone forget that bike. (Or the man who built them)
That would be great to have it in the game.
