What start time is best for you?

Lots of R-34 TCs too... The Lexus field is pretty thin. Its funny because I tried that car out and liked the way it drove a lot. Its more balanced than I expected but I do like my Skylines though and drive them a bit better.

Turnout is looking good and I am ready for the practice day.

Still wondering about a mandatory pit though. I guess I will find out a bit later as things get hashed out a bit more.

"Unspecified upgrades are NOT allowed (No engine, intake, exhaust and ...)"
Y you increase your workload, sagaris, listen to the engine note? You all ready have the p.p. under control for each car.
It is tough to enforce, other than forced induction. All engine upgrades are permitted for the Lexus, and the rule is in place so the Corvette and Skyline have the same parts as when I tested them previously. Because of the way the PP system works, even if someone cheats and installs more parts, they would be punished with lower horsepower and their gains would be marginal, if any. I'm keeping the rule. Hopefully everyone is honest and follows it.
As another thought, I think we should have 1 required pit. I have been doing some practice with my car and I think I can make all 30 laps without pit. Requiring a pit would create more of a need to create strategy on how/when you use that pit.

Just a suggestion
I thank you for your suggestion. The preseason will be the place where tire wear will be tested. I'm surprised by your claim though, when I ran 20 lap races with all the cars on TMR, the tires started going off for me in the early teens. If the majority of the field can do 20 laps without pitting, a rule as you suggest may be implemented.
Interested looks fun, just depends on the start time. Ill sign up for now.

Ill get a colour in a few days when I get back to PS3.
Welcome! :)
How many Vettes is that signed up? LoL
4 Corvettes
4 Skyline GT-Rs
3 Lexii

Looking good and even. :)

If the desire is to create a strategic element, y limit the options, restricting the tires to racing hard and artificially induce that strategy, requiring a pit stop without the real need to change than?
To have real strategy, is better offer multiple options, or, at least, allow people to decide if is to stop or not. But the ideal, to be a real strategic race, is to free all options possible, so the tires must be free choice.
That will give us people starting with soft/soft, soft/medium, medium/medium and medium/hard tires.

Fair point as well... cant say I disagree. You do have that speed disadvantage when you start driving on wore the heck out tires. (but can slower times beat the ones that pit stop????)

Ive done several test laps (over 20) and had no need to change tires though as you get past 50% the dynamic of your car changes quite a bit. You either have it or loose it. I think I can get it out to all 30 laps on Trial Mountain but am not quite sure.

I know I B-Speced and Bob was pitting about every 6 laps on Nurburgring 24H with my setup I have now (which is about 40 laps on Trial Mountain in comparison roughly)

There is still a strategic element when you only have one compound. Tire preservation is an aspect to consider. With the short pitlane at TM, it might possible to make up time by making stops and keeping your tires fresh. There doesn't need to be strategy involved in these races though. It's not an essential here.

I'm changing colors before we start-

Lexus IS-F

#27 - Gran Turismo Red Metallic with Black wheels/polished lip

Had one in this color fully loaded. Built a new one per class rules and painted it Green. Looked at the other and fell in love with the color and wheel combo. So out with green in with red.

Apologies Johnny. I didn't add you because of a lack of any sort of details, but that certainly isn't a problem.

Happy Easter everyone!!

Sorry for being sparse lately. I have been very busy with work/finishing school. The updated race procedure and track specific regulations will be posted on Wednesday or Thursday.

Those are some fast laps there. My best laps on TMR are also mid-1'22s, but my consistent race pace to preserve tires was in the 1'23s.

As Ace kindly informed you, there was no race on Easter. I myself was also unavailable because I spent the day with my family. I hope you (and everyone else) had a good one. :)

I'll be able to make the preseason round and round 3.

Thanks for letting me know. 👍

Update: Race start procedure and track specific boundaries are updated. Any questions, concerns, please ask. If anything is not clear, I would be glad to make clarifications.

Race Start Procedure
After qualifying has been completed, the race director will reset the track. The race director will then call drivers to enter the pits in stages (as before): first the Corvettes, then the IS-Fs and then the Skyline GT-Rs. When all cars are in the pits, the race director will start the race. Once the race starts, all drivers must hold the brakes and wait to be called. Drivers will be called in qualifying order to create the grid; once called, drivers will proceed around the track to the line-up area (light blue). Drivers will line-up and wait for the race to start. Once all drivers have lined up, the race director will give the start signal: “START”. At this point, the pole sitting driver will slowly drive (maximum 60 mph / 100 km/h) and lead the field to start the race. At the start point (Yellow/orange mark), the leading driver may go full speed; however, overtaking is prohibited until the start line (start of lap 2). Purposefully slowing to hold up drivers behind you before the start is strictly prohibited.

Line-up area: in blue
“Go” point / start point: Yellow mark / orange crest

For the preseason race, the line-up area will be the same as on Trial Mountain Reverse. The start point will be at the start of the last sector.

Track Specific Regulations

On Trial Mountain, Trial Mountain Reverse and Autumn Ring, all hard surfaces are track and there are no special pit lane entry regulations. Remember, you must have two wheels on/over the track at all times.

Grand Valley Speedway regulations

When entering and exiting the pit-lane at Grand Valley, do not cross the solid yellow line. You may cross the broken yellow line at any time. If you are not exiting the pit lane, you may cross the line at the pit-lane exit to overtake; however be aware, drivers exiting the pits have priority on the track between the yellow lines.

All asphalt and rumble strips are considered track. Concrete is not track. Remember, you must have two wheels on/over the track at all times.

A question about the yellow marked areas in the corners at Trial Mountain before and after the marked gathering point, are they fair game or are they off track?

Definitely fair game. It's a hard surface and I want to make everything track that is within reason. It reduces the ability for anyone, intentional or unintentional, to cut corners and it reduces my load to monitor it. Which is important especially when points are given out for qualifying.

Wow... thats scary... I dont know with those times if I can hang... hmmm... See, I am running about 1:26-1:27 with my best tunes so far... ugh... yeah, I will be taking up the back of the pack for sure with those times out there....

BUT I have tested this over and over and at that pace I CAN go all 30 without pit... Im almost sure of that

Countdown to preseason race:
img.php

The preseason race is today/tomorrow (depending on where you are)! :)

Reminders:
  • Remember to read the qualifying and race procedures
  • Room will open half an hour before the event start time
If you haven't yet sent a Friend Request (FR) to 'sagarismic' yet, please do so promptly; otherwise you won't be able to get into the racing lounge
  • Remember, when the race starts in the game, hold your brakes and wait to be called.

Also, when calling drivers on the grid to the line-up area, I will use abbreviations to move things along faster. It'll be the first three alphabetical letters from your PSN; as of right now, everyone has a unique combination so there should be no problems.

Welcome!

Hi there,
I'm currently experiencing connection issues with PSN, not allowing me to connect to others lounges. Problem has been found, but since its Sunday, the problem can't be resolved until tomorrow. So sadly, I'll have to decline tonight's race.

I'll have to cancel my entry as I am unable to commit to the series properly. Very sorry...

No practice this week. Hopefully my lil tune from a tuning session in a the ISF in another series to help a guy out will work for me here. :)

Didnt quite get the "starting" point (yellow circle) on TMC tonight.
Where is it?

That would be the hairpin right after the monkey in the tree (or if you are going the other way the hairpin that goes right after the first tunnel)

Sorry, I'm a little late. Will open the room in 5 minutes.

The starts point is the start of the last sector, aka the start of the downhill straight before the last sharpish corner. It's a yellow line on the track (Edit: Yellow, not white).
