Practice room up 1472-6118-3830-2742-7057. Come join me :).

Alright... TONS of last minute adjustments and I finally took about 2.5 seconds off of my average lap time... I am still running about 1:24/25s now but thats better than my 1:27/8s that I was running before consistently. I also go my car to finally stop its snap oversteer I have been fighting that wore my tires out faster than I anticipated. Such a small tweak too is all I needed to do... I feel like a fool now.

I still dont expect to win but at least I have a chance to land mid-pack instead of back (If I dont mess up bad.... )

My pb is a 1.25.2 atm

I had a best lap of 1:24.6 and was averaging 1:25.2

at least I dont feel so far off the lead now... I almost withdrew if I couldnt get in the 1:25 range. Glad thats not going to happen ;)

Again, we all still make mistakes and 30 laps is a lot of time to make a mistake :(

It's about the taking part. Plus you learn new lines when racing faster players. Is the room up yet for the event? Still not been added on PSN.

The room is open. Come on in. :)
Last minute question here. In the regs it says no changes to the car between the first Q session and the Super Lap session. But it doesn't say anything about changes between the Super Lap session and the race? Can we make adjustments after qualifying is over and before the race starts?
Because we redo the staged entry for the race, you are permitted to make changes, but you wouldn't have much time to do so.

Sorry i couldn't show up today. I was visiting the parents of (and with) my better half, and we planed to be back by 19:00 local time. As fate had it, major downpour and some moron in a bmw that decided it would be fun to spin out and collide with the guardrail. Needless to say, i just got home after a delay of only two and a half hours.

As i definitely won't be able to to attend next week, I'm inclined to revoke my registration. But a guest appearance on the last race should be fun if nobody has a problem with it.

Some major issues with that room. Never been disconnected so many times. Normally, I'm problem free. So annoying as I was having a great battle with Kuanza.

Keep getting disconnect from lobby server.

Good racing everyone!

Made contact twice with Sagaris, Sorry...

Network issues sucks Reality, sorry u had a so much trouble.
I try to reset my router before "important" races. Usually that helps me getting a stable connection.

Yeah, I got lapped 2x by a few drivers... 1x by all but one... ugh... I can see what I can do with this thing but if I cannot get it tamed down I may stand out. Its a good race series but I feel like I picked a car that just isnt working for me. I have been fighting the tune on this thing now off and on for a few weeks.

I will see... I almost didnt do this one but I did...

Anyhow the race is organized VERY well! Thank you for running such a clean race series ;)

Curious. Since the Corvette is obviously a better car then the others. Hence it's lower pp to bring it back to equal. Well the drastic HP difference to get the cars equal is seeming to be quite a feat to over come for the Vette. Biggest issue is when the Vette gets held up in the turns and then it is left in the dust on straights.

So maybe consider the Camaro RM. heavier car. Not nearly the handling machine the Vette is. Maybe worth a look. Like to see cars lil closer in HP. This one should be close to the ISF. So I'm thinking.

Please note this more so suggestions, thinking out loud if you will.

You are certainly very welcome to race any race you can, even if it's just the one. :)

My sincerest apologies. I'm hopeful it's a one time thing as today I had connectivity issues as well for the first time. I was disconnected from a friend's room earlier in the day for the very first time. As g suggested, try resetting your router next time. I'm certainly not an expert on connection issues, but I will do my best to have conditions as good as possible on my end.

At this point, after one race, there will not be any car changes. I thank you for your suggestion, and I will take it into future consideration. If I'm ever making a sequel series to this in the far super distant future, the Camaro will come under consideration for sure. I am learning.

Autumn Ring is next, where it will be difficult for any car to overtake without mistakes or pit stops. The cars should be now frozen in specs. All cars have strengths and disadvantages, strategies will come into play for sure in the next two races.

Thank you. I'm very glad that you have been participating, as I'm meeting a kind clean considerate racer for the first time. No matter your decision, this will not change.

As an option, you may change cars. You would have to forfeit your individual points to do so, but if you would have more fun driving another car, it's an option to change.

Preliminary results:

I will review the replays and have the official results and standings posted in the next few days (sorry, I'm a little busy with work right now).

Maby it will help?

I'm thinking maby lower weight and pp on the GT-R.
That would make it handle better and the hp gap would be smaller.
Just a thought:idea:

I found the cars to be quite even. At first, without having driven any of the cars, I was just going to take the Vette because it did so well in the pre-season race. So I bought one and drove it for a few laps and it handled so well out of the box I was convinced it was the right car. But at the last second I decided to drive the other two and was pleasantly surprised. They both had some understeer, but a few tuning tweaks took care of most of that. So I ran 15 laps with the GT-R and the Vette and was within 3 seconds in total for the run. The downside of the GT-R is that if you push it hard, you burn up the front tires and it won't turn late in the run. With the Vette it was the opposite, if you push it hard, you burned up the back end and it won't stop turning late in the run and you can't get the power down. I found the Lexus a little slower, about a second a lap, but easier to drive which has it's advantages too in longer runs where consistency can pay off and it might do better at one of the other two tracks. I also found that entering the big tunnel all three cars were within 3km/h of each other.

I haven't done much endurance racing and haven't run any A-Spec Endurance races but I asssumed the big challenge with all the cars in a race with long runs where tire wear is a factor, is to be smooth. Smooth steering inputs, slightly early braking and avoiding tire squeal as much as possible. You can't drive any of the cars at 100% and expect to make 15 laps because the tires will be shot after 10. I've read that lower toe and camber settings also help but I'm not convinced that's true, although it could very well be. I believe the key is tire squeal, I think it's GT5's not so subtle message that tire squeal = tire wear above and beyond the normal rolling tire wear.

So for me it was a toss up but I wanted the challenge of tuning the 4WD GT-R so I picked it. I think it'll struggle with front tire wear at the twistier Autumn Ring and I believe the Vette and Lexus will shine at the bigger Grand Valley track so it'll be an interesting 3 races for sure.

I like this concept and think it has great potential for the future. A Camaro RM vs. Challenger RM would be interesting. Impreza vs. Lancer TC is a possibility. An MR battle of Ferrari vs. Lamborghini vs. Ford would be interesting. Lots of interesting possibilities. 👍 Something else that might be interesting is to have all three cars, three races and you have to use each one once. Makes for more tuning but ensures that everyone is dead equal in terms of opportunities in each car.

:guilty: Sorry I couldn't make this Sunday. I got unexpected visitors right before start time. And wasn't about to have them watch me. Wish I could of made it. Got my car tuned and was looking forward to it. I'll be there next week for sure! 👍 My apoligies again. I usually don't miss a race.

Didn't expect to get to race yesterday, so my first laps were turned during qualifying. Ended up having to leave to get my hair cut. My SuperGT series has had a schedule change, so I'll be at the remaining races. Had a good time yesterday, looking forward to the next race.

Good race last night, well done johnny on dominating from start to finish.

I managed 1 stop, took it easier in the second stint new I wouldnt catch you unless you made a few mistakes (not likely though), to try and keep my tyres as I knew Gknap, owens and sag would be hunting me down near the end of the race, which they did.

With the Vette it was the opposite, if you push it hard, you burned up the back end and it won't stop turning late in the run and you can't get the power down.

I find I use the front tyres a lot more in the vette with out any tunning.

I have one gripe about the qualifying, on the super lap qualifying there was alot of chat going on, and me been me I try and read it while im driving, not a good idea when trying to drive.
Please could we keep the chat down when watching the qaulifying cheers.

Musta been my tune then that used up the back tires more, although it was only a slight difference and something that you could easily fix with a couple of small adjustments.

Yeah, the chat while qualifying is annoying. Sometimes blocks a part of the screen you're trying to look at, like a braking marker or something.

Round 1 Race Results

Congratulations to JohnnyPenso on the Grand Chelem!! 👍

Noteworthy results: 2nd through 5th were separated by just over 4 seconds at the finish. The difference between 1st and 4th in the fastest lap classification was less than a tenth!!

Incidents: Nothing major to report. A few drivers cut corners at times but nothing purposeful and not with any regularity. All drivers who were at fault for any incidents all conceded any possible gains. Good racing everyone!! 👍

Manufacturer Points Table

Update: Single file line-up in the line-up area specified in race procedure.

Don't worry about it. I know you have a great record for showing up to races. I presumed something had come up when you didn't show up.

Happy to hear that. :)
Hopefully better results for the Lexys next time out.

My thoughts exactly. Please do not use the chat while drivers are qualifying (or racing for that matter) unless absolutely necessary.

Good luck with the race on sunday, hopefully someone will catch johnny. Sorry im going to miss it

Seconding Hasslemoff. We'll be missing the next race 'cause of this.

We'll be back for the Grand Valley race though. :)

I haven't driven any car since last Sundays' race. Bogged down at work and now sick as a dog. I haven't touched the car for Autumn Ring and don't think the tune for the more grippy Trial Mountain is going to be directly transferrable. I do have to work tomorrow too, but I'm going to try and make the race. I'm trying to work around some weather and tomorrow looks like a good day so I may end up working and not make it. I'm gonna work late in the day today to try and get a bit ahead.👍👍

Anyone practicing?

Anyone practicing?
I'll be practicing in the race room (hopefully) two hours before qualifying. As always, anybody is free to join me.

Race day!

A few things to note/remember:
-Familiarize yourself with the qualifying and race procedure. It would make things a lot easier for me if everyone knew what was happening.
-Remember to line-up single file in the line-up area
-If you disconnect during or just prior to qualifying, send me a message as soon as possible.

Track specifics:
-Race is 30 laps
-All hard surfaces are track; remember, you must have at least two tires on or over the track at all times.

Track Map

The small yellow mark is the point where the leading car can go full speed, but no overtaking until the start of lap 2.
The blue area is the line-up area where the grid will gather in order on lap 1. Remember to come to a complete stop during the line up phase, and then wait until the race director will issue the 'START' signal.

I'm here, no one else online for practice? Add me on PSN if you haven't already. Also, could someone get some photos from last weeks race please :)? I don't have the replay, me & Kuanza were having a good battle.

The room is open (early) for practice. I'm going to get a bite to eat and be back soon to practice.

I'll have some photos from both the races up this week.

Embarrassing day for me. Sorry to the other vetted for bumps and cutting off. I just couldn't keep focused. Need to get something sorted before FMSC race tonight.

Good race today, congrats and thanks to JP for letting myself and Kuanza finish our battle before lapping us.
