That episode was kind of 'meh' for me. The car upgrade thing couldve been better, with a different car. James' Finnish thing was quite good though, enjoyed it although it couldve been longer. Hammond's Toyota thing was a bit boring, I skipped a bit of it at the end. 7/10 from me.

Boy do I wish we had those weekend-Finnish-junk-races here. That just looks like such a laugh.

@ Turbo Lag. Really? I thought it was an excellent episode. Mika was great and the Avantime was good too. Shame it didn't make a bit of a better improvement.

I was hoping for an old FR from the 80's-90's then it probably might have done something better.

This weeks episode was a meh and a lol

Friends at school want the toyota chair for some school racing :sly:

Ooh yeah, that's looked brilliant. Good episode imo, I missed the start though so I'm going to re-watch it probably tomorrow.

I agree with those who say the Avantime bit was disappointing. I was expecting a larger budget, a 4-cylinder subcompact, more thorough visual mods a la Richard's 924 and Jeremy's black paint, an effective but catastrophic modification a la the Starion, weight reduction taken to the extreme (as Jeremy is wont to do on an endeavor of any kind), and a live race.

Instead, we got a seriously floppy, heavy people-mover, a small budget and time limit wasted away by James' brakes, an (OLD) joke about wings on FWD riced cars that was spoiled in the season opening, and a failed time attack. I know they're doomed to fail on everything they do, but they don't usually fail so unspectacularly.

I actually enjoyed the Toyota segment more, mostly because of the way that little thing looks in cornering. The rest of the episode was good, though.

I really enjoyed the SIARPC. I'm glad I finally recognized the person being interviewed. Mark Wahlberg seems like such a down to earth guy. 👍

The rest of the episode was good too. I never knew an MPV could sound so awesome. :D

It turns out the Toyota Chair bit was actually filmed for the last season, or last year. To prove this, check out the season opening episode for Season 11, you'll see the chair with Hammond taking the corner.

Heard they axe'd that bit, sorry Alex.

It’s a bit of a late start for Enfield, in truth: Stig has been out on the track in the Zonda F Roadster this morning, trying to set a lap so quick that - well, so quick that Hammond won’t be able to reach it on the Hot Laps board.
But the Zonda was being a bit temperamental - either that or the Stig hadn’t been fed his normal breakfast of deer carcass and blueberries - so it’s delayed Harry getting out onto the track.
Fear not, though: Stiggy got all that power down on the track in the end, and the lap… well, you’ll have to watch the show on Sunday to find out, but it definitely falls into the Dear-God-That’s-Quick category.

Shame :sly:

But if you had a V8 stairlift, you'd get to the loo in plenty of time, so you wouldn't need to wet yourself.

Bugatti Veyron TopGear lap time is 1'18.3, the Zonda F Roadster managed a lap at 1.17.8.

Go Zonda Go

I know that car computers always estimate well under what is actually left in the tank, but to have about 120+ miles is a bit excessive. I thought it was commonly 50. Enfield didn't look that quick, did he?

Yeah, it was probably privately owned and been lent to them like how they tested the Enzo.

As for Harry, I thought he was going to stop at one point, he must have taken very good lines. He was tight at the hammerhead which is good.

All in all a very good episode. Nice to finally see the Veyron on the track, I didn't expect it to take the record but then the way Jeremy was hyping it I started to think it just might. All in all it's time is very good, especially considering what it is. The Zonda F was just insane, great car. And the eco-race was great, the Jag's was really impressive but then all the cars were, managing to get that much out of them is no mean feat, except in Jeremys case where it was pretty much by accident.

If that was the case, someone's either a poor driver, or a very angry owner as I and I'm sure others have noticed the damage down the skirt.
