Bugatti isn't helped that it has to lug ^ around.

Well, when you make a car with such interior and a 1000 horsepower, you cannot expect it to weigh just a ton, can you? ;) I mean, the Bugatti, as Jeremy said during the car review, has more aircoolers than most houses. You don't come accross cars with 4 turbos and 16 cylindres either every day...

I'm not bashing the Bugatti or anything, oh no, I think it's an extreme car. But watching the Zonda squeeling through the corners so tricky with that screaming sound made it all so much more exiting to watch than the Bugatti. The price tag really puts it off on both cars though, but I guess that's the price you have to pay for such technological speed miracles

I agree, the Zonda looked a lot more fun, sounded like a race car too, rather than the love-child of Frankenstein and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

What struck my brother and I as we watched it was how the Bugatti just didn't look like fun, despite the fact that it was still shockingly fast. As a testament to its engineering and power, yes, it rightfully would have received the top spot if they would have tested it all those years ago... But I think even more important is seeing how far technology has come since then, with the Zonda F, Gumpert Apollo, etc.

Fun doesn't always mean fast and the car was never designed to be fast round a track, its surprising how many people seem to forget that...

But I'd prefer fun rather than the option of losing your (or mine when I'm old enough) driving license.

I suddenly remembered this:

pagani-zonda-r-005.jpg

I haven't heard much of it since the first rumours, was this just a concept or are there actual plans for Pagani to produce it?

I wish they’d shown more of the bus racing though and less of Hammond talking.

Didn't like it very much really, looked like little bits and pieces cobbled together to make a 'fill in the gap' episode. Not much to explain really, although, I just have a tiny feeling that the M3 vs. ISF video was meant to be in the last series.

What really annoyed me was that none of them seemed to know what a G35/G37/Skyline was... not really showing off their car guy knowledge there. Quite pathetic actually. I thought comparing it to the SC/Soarer was baseless.

Have to agree about the fact that it felt, as you said cobbled together. It was an alright episode, it's just that nothing seemed to flow together making not as a much of a enjoyable experience. One thing I didn't mind was that the SIARPC was much, much shorter. Now make the SIARPC that short each week!

Why would a Brit know much about them, they've never been sold here before and they are fairly unremarkable. You wouldn't expect them to know anything about a Malibu or a Grand Marquis would you? They compared it to the Lexus because it looks pretty similar to it, from the front anyway.

You really don't see the similarity?

Am I the only person who doesn't think the SC is ugly? I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I could afford one. And it didn't depreciate as if it were on fire.

Yes you are. Mostly.

Danny - you've changed back to 'alphabeat' for any reason?

So that makes three or you, you Danny and the guy who designed it. That said the designer was getting paid regardless so he probably didn't actually care. So that's just two of you then ;).

I thought the episode was alright, not one of the best but that's TopGear standards, still a good episode.

It was one helluva episode, obviously the celebration of the Daytona (one of my top-three Ferraris) was a wonderful piece of work. I do wish they would have included a few more vintage GT cars in that, skipping the boat, but beggars can't be choosers.

Best bit was the end with the new Fiesta, all the effort for a awsome review

I didnt enjoy the communism review, got bored and the star in the car was break time. ;)

9PM next week :dopey:

I think I enjoyed the Fiesta bit all the more for recognising the shopping centre (Festival Place in Basingstoke) as it's fairly local to me - 15 minutes up the motorway - and I knew the general layout of the place. I'm quite suprised the Fiesta made it to the beach, I would've thought the engine flooded. Maybe it did and the editing didn't show it.

Otherwise, a fairly average episode. Boris Johnson is as daft as ever.

One of the best non-special (e.g. the trip to America) episodes I've seen since the show restarted.

The caterham review was well done - I loved the cinematography was outstanding, even better than normal. Didn't think much of the other car, not entirely sure why it was included to be honest.
The communism piece was excellent and had laughs all the way through from me.
Boris is always a good guest on any show.
The fiesta review was fantastic - I enjoyed the non-silly parts but the shopping mall and beach landing had me on the floor.
The only part I didn't really like was the news since it was more a slagging match which wasn't executed that well.

The Fiesta review was amazing, when the text came up on the screen saying 'What if I get chased through a shopping center by baddies in a Corvette?' I laughed so loud I woke my parents up. Awesome, awesome stuff. I loved the entire episode this week, even the SIARPC was entertaining.

One of the best episodes yet. I wasn't expecting much from the Fiesta review, it had one hell of a lot to give. 9/10 👍

The Fiesta review was awesome, the Corvette v.s Fiesta was incredibley funny and gave me good memories of the things which happened at TopGear Live when I went. And the beach assault? That was just plain funny.
