Is there any way I can see this without downloading a 700mb torrent?

My internet connection cuts off every minute or so when downloading torrents, and I'm not having much luck with youtube.
 
^Yes, you can download a 450MB torrent. Seriously though, I think the episodes are hosted in the Top Gear website for streaming. It's only for UK residents but maybe you can watch it through a UK proxy.

If you had kept on reading, you would have read that my internet connection turns off every minute or so when downloading torrents.

I need something I can stream, and I have no idea how to do what you said with the uk proxy.

This sucks, really bad. Why does BBC purposely keep people from seeing their shows? I can't see any possible benefit from it.

It's been only 2 days since it's release, and they've already snatched up every single friggen clip of it off the internet.

That was a good epidode, much preferred to the first one. They had a guest that was interested in cars, a good feature part and a surprisingly good comparrison.

The whole smoking thing can't be argued with. There was no reason for them to light up apart from them knowing it would cause controversy, but that's what the show thrives on so I don't see any reason foranything like it in future to stop.

Thing is though they never show any of the cars speedo's so no viewer can claim they were breaking the law (eventhough its obvious) because there is no hard evidence.....

As for the smoking yes technically what they did was illegal but from what I saw they genuinely didnt set out to do it on purpose... it was like it just happened spur of the moment thing, I doubt they went yes lets create a fuss by lighting up on set!

If they hadnt had lit up then we wouldnt have seen Clarkson burn himself which would have been a sad moment to miss! :lol:

BBC TV programmes are paid for by the British TV Licence buying public (anyone who owns a TV in Britain) - therefore it isn't free to view outside of the UK.

If the BBC wants to sell its products, it needs to protect them from being released for free on the internet.

Top Gear is already the world's most pirated TV show!
 
As it is just today the BBC was saying it has to cut costs over the next 5 years because the licencing fee is too low... they want to axe some wildlife programs and other documentary type stuff and also show alot more repeats of programs...... I doubt Top Gear would be a victim of this cull as its in that very important light entertainment catagory...

Other Channels like 4 manage fine with the licence fee and have alot better programs but I guess its because BBC has to run 2 main channels so double the cost.

channel 4 has advertising though,the bbc doesnt.

Channel 4 don't have a license fee, they pay for their costs with advertising. The licence fee is for the beeb, not the terrestrial channels.

Yup, I'd be interested to know if the law changes if they ever had roads closed from the public for filming.
 
Saw all 3 of the new episodes. Great stuff, great humor. I know I have a sightly better chance than those morons when it comes to surviving extreme cold conditions. :lol:

I never noticed until now that the BBC has no advertising! :dunce:.... its probably because im watching alot of the other channels but yeah...

....maybe the BBC should do advertising then if its so effective! But I suppose its state TV so probably not allowed......

Iirc the BBC Radio channels advertise.

If the BBC did advertising they'd have to scrap the licence fee.

As it's an hour long show and the channel gets its revenue from advertising, the show is split up by three five minute adbreaks. That's fine, I don't mind adverts, but the introduction of them means that 15 minutes of stuff has been chopped off each episode - and it shows. They're all repeats, so you know what's going to happen next... but then it doesn't. And, bizzarely, half the background music has changed for the worse. It hasn't made any difference to the length, so why change it? Grrrr...

I always thought the commercials were pretty quick during Top Gear on BBCA. The only problem is that they occur far too frequently, occasionally even in the middle of a new car test. Odd? Yes.

Has anyone seen any really old episodes on tv recently? Im getting a bit annoyed when it seems UK Gold keep playing the same repeats over and over. I cant remember the last time I saw a really old episode. Does anyone remember when they had a fat man instead of James May? It would be refreshing if they started showing those again where you dont remember every single detail in the episode.

I would love to see afew classic top gear episodes, like from 10 years ago when Tiff Vicky and Co used to be there and they used to do normal road tests on normal cars!

On another note whens the next new Top Gear on in the UK..? the snooker has balls-d everything up!

Here in NZ we get it with advertsing - but the show runs for an hour fifteen, so we don't miss out on anything. :)
