Was the african stig hamilton? :D

I thought it was a funny episode :D

It was excellent. The drainage hole bit was classic 👍

Liked the episode.
And that Opel Kadet was in good condition! (was, before hamster drove in it)
And the hamster with his offroad experience :) tried to cross at the widest spot available.

Would love to do that trip with our 4x4s. At least we don't have to make a drainage hole, they already have one. (And yes, it's standard, we didn't make it)
It even has a removable rubber plug to prevent water from getting in.

 Excellent episode! Did anyone notice in the credits everyone was "Archbishop Desmond..." ?

That was certainly one cool episode.

That was an awesome episode!

Richard Hammond
It's a happy little car! I shall name it Oliver.

I found the Beetle's haunting presence hilarious though - everytime they had trouble, the Beetle was there, for the joy of those two who didn't have any trouble. It was always there.
And in the end it won over the other cars, because it did everything they did with their cars, but without failure and "modifications".

The challenge episodes are always my favorite and this was no exception. 👍

Makes me want to go buy a Lancia Beta for some reason....

Was a great episode, there were parts which maybe dragged on abit like when they kept showing shots of them driving across the baron desert but on the whole another top quality show!

James was the most sensible to use a merc which is used in Africa lot and that has rock solid reliability. Clarkson would always go for something stupidly offbeat... but he thought Lancia and then he thought rally, was so funny to watch! The Opel Kadett I thought was the best choice, it was light, well put together and looked quite good to.

That bit where Clarkson and May were driving through the sandstorm without any windows, doors or body panels was hilarious... Then clarkson said he would get every 1920's disease from the sand! The way they were dressed was brilliant aswell!

The other great bit was when hammond sunk the opel, how stupid was he to go into what was clearly the deepest part of the lake... it was like 10 seconds then it just sunk like a brick!

I really want to know who Stig's African Cousin is... its probably just a local racing driver because I doubt they would have brought a guy from the UK just to do the 2 laps...

Oh and finally clarkson reading the challenge...went something like this...

"If you run out of water YOU WILL DIE"
"If you run out of food YOU WILL DIE"
"If your car breaks down and you can't fix it YOU WILL DIE"
"The saltflats are like a creme brule, crusty surface and then gooey underneath, if you break through the crust your car will sink and then.... YOU WILL DIE"

Gonna watch it again on wednesday :)👍

Robin

EDIT -Just realised this is my 3000th post.... YIPPPEEE! :D:dopey:

I would like to know who he is as well, some good driving done. The look the locals gave when they saw him was priceless.

Yet another good case as to why I love Top Gear. The cars were great, the situations they were in were wonderful, and you've got to love it when Hammond is right.

Best line from the show? It had to have been when James May said Hammond "Looks like a gay cowboy and you [Clarkson] look like a gay terrorist."

Agreed!

It was a great episode, really shows how much people do not need SUV's.

May and Clarkson looked like TERRORISTS ON A TIGHT BUDGET! when driving through the sandstorm in their stripped down cars, coughing and choking, looked so comical!

One of the best TG episodes ever IMO 👍 And Oliver ftw

Those cars combined with their outfits looked like they came straight out of Mad Max :)

Clarkson comparing his swinging 'wooden fence' of a door to the Mercedes Gullwing's!

Do you have any Lion proof Tarpaulin...... hahahaha

That was a great episode. One of the best in a while.

:D

apprently the caparo is on this sundays top gear and beats the lap record but the dont put it on the board

It will be like the westfield, the radical, and the Renault F1 car, i guess track day-ish sort of cars don't count. I think clarkson would prefare to see supercars at the top of the board.

The Atom is on the board though.

Has this thread been fitted with a Top Gear Spoiler?

This thread > Koenigsegg :D

with regards to the

atom

I think

clarkson

likes the

atom

as he gave the car a review a few series ago.

:D

ok I will stop now.

Oh man, was that a Jean Charles de Menezes joke?

Hmmm, maybe a bit too edgy...

Good episode overall. 👍

It's ridiculous how they can sell the Caparo T1 with issues like that - you would have thought these issues would have been fixed by now.

I loved the Stig on the public transport.

the Stig is awesome, he doesnt say a word but he's so funny.

Another good episode.

G.T

Yea man, Kinda scary when you imagine a footballer driving that monster, but then again anyone who would want to buy that car will know a thing or two about racing....or should do.

Woooo Stig used the same bus stop as I do! I go over the Kew bridge every day.
I also tried riding my bike through london last month to get to uni. I know how Hammond feels about the busses driving next to him, very intimidating. The bike takes roughly an hour and ive found during rush hour its about half an hour quicker than a car and a whole hour faster than a bus. I havent tried getting a boat or a train to uni yet...

The mobile phone going of was also hilarious.
He just took it out of his pocket and looked at it :)

I sure did hope Simon Cowell would crash and burn to death.
They should have put him in the caparo instead of the lacetti, would be really fun to watch.
I really don't like that man's attitude.
