What are the odds that they ever make the clutch realistic? I downloaded Assetto Corsa the other day and it was pretty cool to have a working clutch. Shows it can be done. Can't be that hard for the "real driving simulator" to add, surely?!

I don't really see how the old originals like Deep Forest, Trial Mountain, Grand Valley, or even Autumn and High Speed Rings would be bad for Sport Mode. I mean, I get that they're fast-paced tracks that carry the potential for racing carnage, but so do Dragon Trail (Seaside) and Kyoto Driving Park (Yamagiwa) and a number of other tracks. Is there a legitimate reason why any of those classic tracks shouldn't be in the game?

Only reason I can think of is the possibility that FIA may not want to be involved in a game wherein some tracks have obvious death traps, sea monsters and you name the rest. I hope this is not the case though because it would be silly to take a game that seriously.

I assume the long wait comes down to the sheer difficulty in rebuilding the old tracks in 4K while also preserving the old magic. Kaz touched upon this himself, talking about scale etc.

They could always leave them out of Sport Mode if players are outraged by their inclusion. I mean, I've been racing on them recently in GT5 and I don't see the argument to not include them, but if people are going to be fussy, just leave them entirely out of Sport Mode. I'm sure us custom lobby rats will make good use of them.

It could just be a little tease by PD. Releasing this update might look disappointing for the lack of race cars (to some of us). Before we even know PD might come with a bang and deliver even more content when we do not expect it at all.

Remember in the GT series we had the 2007 and 2010 Ferrari F1 cars?

Well, since PD and Ferrari are close partners...

...this guy happens to have just turned 50.

Because of that, they've opened a "Schumacher special" exhibition till the end of this month in Maranello.

You know where I'm going with this? ;)

Steep cliffside directly beyond barrier (Deep Forest) and unprotected cliff walls (Grand Valley, Trial Mountain and Midfield).

I didn't think of the possibility that they'd probably need to "child-proof" some of those tracks, namely Deep Forest and Trial Mountain for your aforementioned reasons. They'll probably need to add safety barriers alongside the rocky sections to make it more "realistic" for motorsport, among a host of other things. It's not just about prettying it up for today's graphical standards (lighting, textures, collision maps, car physics, etc.).

When did PD ever release new content coinciding with a real life event?

I think they know by now that they are never on time, so they release something whenever they are ready.

There’s also a bunch of other Ferraris that haven’t been ported to GTS yet, which I would expect to be released every other update or so... (250SW, Daytona, 430, 599, FXX, California)

They added LeMans in May, 2 weeks before the 24 hours last year

The new tracks will obviously be ...

Tokyo Expressway - Central Inner Loop
Tokyo Expressway - Central Outer Loop
Tokyo Expressway - East Inner Loop
Tokyo Expressway - East Outer Loop
Tokyo Expressway - South Inner Loop
Tokyo Expressway - South Outer Loop

Tokyo Expressway - West Inner Loop
Tokyo Expressway - West Outer Loop
Tokyo Expressway - North Inner Loop
Tokyo Expressway - North Outer Loop

:P

I don't think we get a classic track in GT: SPORT. They will keep it for the next game. Only new original and real world tracks.

It is difficult to estimate whether they will arrive or not, both of the reasons you have mentioned are valid

These "speculation" threads always turn into "wish list" threads. Maybe PoDi shouldn't release a silhouette teaser image for the next update. Nowadays, we're figuring out the next new content that's arriving before it's even released, which is nice if I must admit, but I miss the days of GT5 and especially GT6 when we had little to sometimes no idea what the next update would be bringing. Ahh, the magical times of "Maintenance Period" posts on the website...

...though speaking of GT5 and GT6, if one of the new cars arriving in this update is indeed the 350Z, I'm glad it's being brought back to the series in much higher fidelity, as I found it quite odd that both GT5 and GT6 lacked a Premium model 350Z. It's always been a favorite ride of mine.

EDIT: The Premium Z33 Fairlady Z has been hiding from me this entire time! Jeez, this feels like a new discovery...

Has it? I know Kaz said they are working on it, but it might not come to GTS, and I didn't think they had confirmed anything.

He hasn't confirmed it for GTS, but he did indicate that it's been worked on. They have the data for Deep Forest, but there are a number of issues with it. It could feasibly be added to GTS, but nothing has been confirmed regarding its inclusion in this game.

Yeah the said they had the data for Deep Forest that runs on GT Sport, and I have been hoping to see it before every update throughout 2018, but I doubt it will come now.

Two options:
-due to hardware limitations, they can't keep the atmosphere (tree tunnels, very close walls, many variations in the scenery: tunnel, bridge...);
-Poly wants to keep them for the next GT and tbh they should do it, I can imagine a reveal trailer with Grand Valley or Trial Mountain.

I thing regarding legacy tracks, it seems it's out with the old, in with the new. I dont believe we will see old original tracks in GT Sport.

If they wanted them, they would have added them by now.

There really definitely is...

(pic is from GT5 Prologue but it was in 5 and 6 too)
...wait a second. Have I been under the assumption this entire time that there hasn't been a Premium 350Z? This has seriously went under my nose. I swore that every time I browsed the Premium car selection for both games, only the Z34 370Z had a Premium model. I'm going to start up GT5 and GT6 to check again, even though I just confirmed the Nissan Fairlady Z Version S (Z33) '07 as a Premium car from the Official GT5 Car List.

Seriously, GT5/6 have so many cars that you still learn about the roster each and every time you play. Jeez, this feels like a new discovery to me...

If you really want to check out GT5 premium models head on over to this (Kudosprime is a really good site imo) site or this youtube channel.
The good thing about the channel is that they are Alphabetically ordered and you can find the 350 Z in the list.

Agreed, it's like opening a massive box of your old Hot Wheels and going "I don't even remember having this!"

My recent GT6 discovery was the Suzuki SX4 WRC - I remember the C4, the Focus, and the Impreza - all iconic cars - but the SX4 completely passed me by. It's so gloriously incongruous too, being as it is a little crossover SUV :D

Awh the 356, how I was praying and wishing for this car to be in the game,

when I was a kid and playing porsche unleashed with my father it was our favourite car and it's deep in my heart ever since. thanks polyphony digital that is such a nice belated Christmas gift!

If its gonna be 20 milions as expected im definitely selling miura and many many others just for this car!!
