Please tell me Natalie Portman is not in this movie.

It will be truly comic to watch her get out-emoted by a guy who wears a mask for the entire film.

Hugo Weaving has more talent than a lot of actresses that I'd think could be used for Portmans role, so thats not suprising really.

Oh, come on. Extricate her from the clutches of George Lucas and she isn't all that bad.

And she's cute as hell.

WORD. 👍 And yeah, I think she's cute as buttons. That stripper scene in "Closer" nearly made up for the immense depression the rest of that sordid, twisted movie caused.

Actually, she is. I forget the movie, but I saw her trying to comfort her hysterical friend/sister, victim of a family-beater after some huge domestic drama, and she was every bit as wooden as she is as Queen Amidala.
And she's cute as hell.
I disagree, but 'eye of the beholder' means I won't belabor that point.

 when you're talking B.O. numbers, that's often all that matters...

Hmmm. I must admit that there's quite a bit of positive buzz about this one. Could be better than one might expect. I may be pleasantly surprised.

Since the star is Duke's favorite actress, I'm sure he'll see it on opening night. I'll wait for his review...

I agree with all of the above. In fact, she seems to be getting cuter. It's becoming difficult to tell Keira Knightly and Portman apart - which is a good thing.... maybe they could do a movie together.

I doubt if either of them makes that kind of movie any more. But that's leaving out that I'm not particularly attracted to her , anyway.

I also don't think much of the Wachowski brothers.

But I am a huge fan of Alan Moore, who wrote the original comic book about 10 or 12 years ago. It's a very good story. The art was never quite up to par but it was serviceable.

Well I just got from seeing the movie and I was pleasantly surprised. I thought the movie was pretty good. I went into it not really knowing what to expect and kept an open mind throughout the movie because of that. I don't really know what else to say at the moment for sake of spoiling the movie.

The were both in The Phantom Menace. Not exactly what you were thinking, I'm thinking. :)

i just saw the movie program who were down in London at the Premier?? (dunno what it's called!!) on ITV, the film looks good ! can't wait to see it!!

Saw it tonight. It was quite good. Not at all what I expected. There's actually a deep and complex story here, with equally deep and complex characters. Natalie Portman is excellent, and ignore the comments you've heard about her "struggling with her British accent." She does just fine.

It was a bit long, but not unbearably so. I don't see much that could have been cut out anyway. This movie makes you think, and that's a good thing folks.

The story is very deep and complex. Part of the reason why I did not what to say earlier when I said I had seen it. The characters are the same way.

I agree that the movie is a touch long, but it all goes with the story and none could really be cut. There were a couple times during the movie that I thought, "what the heck does this have to do with the story and why the heck do I have to spend the time watching it". But whichever part that was, it ended up blending into the story and needed to be a part of it.

The friend I watched it with thought the lesbian girl who wrote her story on the toilet paper scenes were unnecessary. I disagree. They do a lot to help Evey transform her views and realize her true self.
