Only three laps done this morning and I was t1 of 21.3 !! Thats not good enough to take another podium in Div 2 !!

On the issue of settings - I would glady take and try anyones setting to see how the car handled compared with my own, I would then compare the two and try and find an "in between" that I was happy with.

There are a lot of very quick racers here (👍 to you all) and I will compare my setts with the ones used by others, I wont take them and then use them, I would take them and modify them until it suited my style of driving.

T1: 20.7
T2: 58.1

Current settings:
Springs: 14.5/10.0
Ride: 55/62
Dampers: 5/6 B; 5/6 RB
Camber: 2.6/2.0
Toe: -1.0/0.0
Stabilisers: 3/4
Brakes: 22/19
LSD: 0/5, 0/5, 0/5
Gears: Tranny trick @ 4.000
DF: Max
ASM: 0
TCS: 1

The car is as tame as anything - although it looks like I need to speed it up a bit to catch Mr. "I've got 3s on you at T2" IForceV8...

the 787b is a pussycat, you just need to be midful of it's constant need for attention. Monte is the one circuit in GT3, besides Laguna, that i have actually worked on figuring out a racing line around the curcuit. I've spent hours with the f094/s, Subaru WRX STI, Elise 190 running around this circuit. Prior to this week I knew where my slow corners were, 2 main ones and last night I figured out a new and better line into the casino and into/out of the hairpin at the end. I thought I had the line down but was dead wrong. I know where I need to cut at least .5 secs out in two places and be more agrressive in 2 others.

To this day I don't know why people don't like the Monte circuit. This and SSR11 are my two favs in the game. I would much rather have these tight/tech circuits than flat out stright ones like say Tokyo (ok Tokyo has a few turns but you get the idea). i'm also not a huge fan of super super high power cars, like ones over 600hp+ unless they are a race car. But I am enjoying this week more than i have since the Impreza/swiss alps week 48.

Next time lets to stock Minis around or fully modded Lupos around Monte!!!! We need a "mini" race.

With some work this car can put a big dent in the R390 records on this track, maybe not the top spot but 3rd place is reachable.

When I said that this time should give you the top record, I meant with this car. You're competing with the R390 as well???

Good lord!

The 787b is a faster car all around than the R390 isn't it? In my experience I much prefer the 787b. The R390 is better in a straight line but suffers on turning...the 787b also seems to have more "pep" out of corners though again on a long stright the R390 will catch and pass the 787b only to loose out again at the next corner.

That beign said the 787b should be the fastest non F1/hybrid car at Monte....

right?

well, you'd have thought so but I dont know if we'll beat the record this week.

Where can I see the (THE) actual records for tracks/car combos in gt3 ?

When i started testing for this i was using a setup similar to what Mr.P's old setup was -Midfield BC3- but found it had too much oversteer.I did some tweaking and came up with a set that is alittle more neutral,if thats possible in this car.:odd:

7/10
115/55
10/10
1/10
2.0/3.5
0/2
1/1

13/9

1.706
1.376
1.137
F-3.600@24

1.00/1.25
0/2

you're not dead??

I have not put in a clean lap yet, but I notice that the way to go is slllooow in, (a little) fast(er) out. What I'm trying now is entering the corner with a lower gear than ideal (2nd for a 3rd gear corner), and try to come out with a higher gear (=lower revs and smoother power).

That way I have time to negotiatie the corner, and accellerating out of the corner is a bit easier on the throttle.

As soon as I have a clean lap, I'll post T's. The T times I've seen so far are WAY faster than I am... I'll have some more of that practice medicine now, please :)

I'm doing the same thing. I've given up taking the first turn (St. Devote) in 3rd gear, I'm going breifly to 2nd and then accelerating out hard. This hasn't hurt my T1 time very much at all.

Impressive, on any weekly I have had at least one clean good lap after 3 days, EXCEPT, this weekly, geeze I can't believe I haven't had a good clean lap, tried those settings that V8 posted and is working quite much better than my original, still not a clean lap.

I hope I won't get mad tomorrow!!mad:

My laptimes actually improved doing the slow-in fast-out trick. Still no clean lap, but I'll get there.

I'm still using the DS2 which originally came with my PS2, which I bought over 2 years ago. I think that this weekly competition is good for the local "Zen agression control" clubs

A man is as big as the things that make him angry... ;)

Ouch. Decided to do a "stay clear from the sides" lap, driving in the middle of the road. This resulted in my first clean (but very clumsy looking) lap:

T1 : 22.950
T2 : 1'05.384

Maybe I should have made this post in a very small font... :O I have loosened the springs, that makes a lot of difference in handling. I beleive they are down to 15 and 14, and the damper bound at the front is one notch up to 8. Rollbars are 4/3. The car is slightly more controllable, TCS is at level 3 to help me out a bit, ASM is 0. Camber at 3 and 2 from the top of my head, not sure.

Rest of the car is standatd, with level 1 turbo and T8's all around (duh).

Great fun to tame a wild car on a tight and twisty track.

ill be in this, first one since ive signed up, get ready to c some extrordinary times from me (hopefully) b-cuz Monaco is my fav track

Welcome to the weekly race series and GOOD LUCK :D

I'm have the same trouble that you guys are having. I hit a lot of walls, everywhere. I saw such a ranged number of sector times I won't even bother posting them.

This might be one of those, "OH THANK GOD I DIDN'T NAIL A WALL, TIME TO SEND THIS ONE AND ONLY CLEAN LAP TIME IN!!!"

more laps tonight, slight improvement...very slight but it was clean and I think I now have more time to cut in me given I feel good on a new corner now

T1 20.8
T2 58.6

I had a best of T1 at 20.1 and a best of T2 at 57.2 but on seperate laps and slightly knicked some walls, not a shunt but a very slight rub, like the kind you see the sportscar or porsche cup guys do on the walls (which I assume still counts as a wall touch)...

more this weekend...

Made a little progress and a fringe benefit:

20.856 58.718

S8 Gold (1:30.4xx) :) Hadn't run that since getting bronze on it once way back when, and only too glad then to take the license and go. Got the gold time on the ninth try. Thanks WRS!

I tried the settings posted by IForceV8, and also those be UB57/Mr P Neither helped my times. They felt ok, but maybe more suited to a driver looking to throw the car around a little more than I am able to do. I'm running a modification of settings by Fumes:

20/20
55/57
9/10
10/10
3.0/1.0
-0.5/0.0
5/6
9/9 (brakes)
1/1.2 (DF)
5/20/10
ASM 0
TCS 3

Gears are Tranny Trick to 3.7. That's a little high I guess, but a little easier to control out of the turns. As are the 9/9 brakes going in.

well i got a 20.8 and if i can match my fastest t1 to t2 i should have a 57.5 ish so yeah i just have to make it stick

Best till now:
21.670
1'00.053
And I'm quite happy with that. :)
When I drive with confident and no fear, I've got the T2 to 59.xxx, but...:banghead:
Seems like fear is my friend at the Cote d'Azur. ;)

My settings are very similar to HareTurtles, but with a little softer suspension settings on the rear. My ride hight is all up. I think it makes the 787 turn better. And my breaks are 19/16.
I also tried the settings of UB57, who differs very much from mine, but I find it hard to control the 787 with them.

Got me a new clean lap last night with Iforce's settings,

T1: 20.205
T2: 56.355

It is almost a second faster at finish so another 1 sec and ill be happy.

I had some time to give this a run last night, best clean so far:
20.837 / 57.117

I was starting to see lots of splits at 20.5 / 56.6 so hopefully I will have some time to try some more runs. :)

Here's my setts if anyone has a mind to try 'em out:

10/12
55/65
6/6/6/6
1.5 / 1.0
1.0 / 0.0
5/7

24/10

5/20/20

TCS 1

Gears: Auto 31
1st: 3.409
2nd: 2.195
3rd: 1.548
4th: 1.157
5th: .917
Final 4.444

BTW, awesome splits IForce V8, looks like you've been around this track a few thousand times before, eh?:D

SOME GUY NAMED SENNA!! SOME GUY!! As some one who likes race cars and race games you should know that he was one of the all time greatest F1 drivers who's life was tragically cut short in a 180mph crash. Why I outa!!

Another update,

T1: 20.4
T2: 56.1

Total time was .600 faster than my previous. Another second and ill be happy and done with this race;) Im seeing alot more clean runs tonight compared to last night and the night before :D :D
