Welp, Nurburgring just got announced.

Worst excuse I have ever heard for not getting a console. Come on. The game is awesome.

The Xbox One is not huge and it is definitely not ugly.

I'm sure you didn't, and probably don't, have a problem owning a PS3.

I never said the single reason I haven't bought an Xbox one yet is because it's ugly and big. Yes IMO its big and ugly which is off putting to me but there were other factors for not getting an xbox one aswell, but like I said T10 are making it more attractive (along with a couple other games that were shown at this years e3)

No I didn't have a problem owning a ps3, Yes it was huge but I liked the design.

I think you are blowing the difference in console specifications out of proportion, both consoles are close in performance, with the performance "edge" going to the PS4 (on paper). The cross-platform I have seen side-by-side show very little difference, we are not talking a black and white issue. With that said, the developers will truly determine what that "edge" amounts to.
I don't know anything about the specs. I don't look at them. What counts is the games. And several games have a higher resolution or frame rate on the ps4. Physical proof Is always better than specs, and there it is.

The problem is that if I had bought a PS4 instead of an Xbox One because of the better specs I would have been spending most of this year staring at a blank screen while the console gathered dust in the corner instead of playing a racing game.

Once there's a reason to buy PS4 which is as compelling as FM5 and Horizon 2 are on the Xbox One then I'll buy one.

I totally get your point. In fact I am buying an Xbox one for forza, because it's a very good franchise

well when it comes to racing games, you're right, they seem evenly matched. I'm thinking of some other games that have higher resolution/ frame rate on ps4 compared to xb1. But the Xbox had good points. I like the controllers features and it's great to hold, u think the console menus are good, and I do like the idea of being able to get tv and games on the same device.

Also @Igano please don't think I'm just being a douche. You and @VXR are correct about how forza is on par with other next gen racers that we are seeing. I actually think the Xbox one is a decent console, hence I'm getting one, so it's all good

Also you have to factor if you are buying the console for forza/GT style games how much you will get out of it. I got a PS3 only for the GT and I just got a mediocre 5 and I didn't even bother buying 6 I just sold the console. With Xbox One you know that every year you will be getting new titles (if you count Horizon) with strong dlc additions and constant improvement. It's the safest console bet for this genre ;)

PS4 is definitely great hardware but it hasn't had any real racing sim game and it doesn't seem to have any for a while. Xbox one is where it at right now on that front. So its getting more and more difficult to find excuse to not get one.
There will be project cars though. And there is so far only one decent wheel supported by the XBone. Project cars will also most likely look better on the PS4 also. I am not a Playstation fan or an Xbox fan, just stating the facts.

Not sure if it's going to look better. It still remains to be seen. As far as wheel support, who knows. I am still waiting to see if my Thrustmaster will work with PS4. If it doesn't, I will get on Xbox one. (I have both console)

Do you have the TX? If so I don't think theirs much of a chance.

Project Cars is not looking that hot compared to Forza 5, not to mention it doesn't run the same framerate let alone locked.

For me project cars is much better for one reason: it has time transition and weather. It baffles me that FM5 still doesn't have it. I'm not saying it is a bad game but it could be much better. What is the point of having Circuit de la Sarthe in a game that you can't drive at night on it. Same with the Audi R18. Also they did an amazing job with Nurburgring, but I wish we could drive on the ring at night or in the rain. End of rant.

Forza 6 will likely have the same weather/time transition system that will be showcased in Horizon 2 (Ralph Fulton is talking about they're "debuting" the system). It should come out in 2015, if they're keeping to their usual release schedule. If they can take the right steps in the right direction, they'll have the advantage of more funds and better, newer technology over pCARS. However, the heterogeneity of their user base and the need to attract casual players will likely hamper T10 somewhat.

When Project Cars manages to do this with 60 fps locked than we can talk.

Oh yes because anything less than 60 fps is like a slideshow and unplayable....
C'mon, guys, get real!

Variable framerates are not fun in sim racing games.

Not being locked at 60 means that in certain conditions it could go as low as 30-40 fps.

Apparently it is not up to 60 yet and it is most definitely not locked.

The target is to have it at 1080p/60fps locked on console.

It's not there yet because they're still optimising graphics. As is usual for a game before it launches. I imagine they'll make whatever graphical tradeoffs are necessary to meet those targets, which probably means choosing whether they want it to look really good or OMGAWESOME.

Cartoonish? Going into photomode doesnt turn a cartoon into reality. Yes there are some changes in quality, but not a full rehash. Mine certainly doesnt, but my settings on my TV are pretty mild, to match my photomode pictures.

Forza's graphics are very beautiful, you can't forget that. But, it would be silly to say that project cars looks behind graphically. It is looking supreme to pretty much most games in development, including all genres. Forza is still great though

The graphics look very good during a race, don't get me wrong. They just don't look all that realistic compared to Project Cars.

Are we comparing Forza to high end PC graphics Project Cars or Xbox One/PS4 Project Cars? I can't find any examples of the latter on the web.

I didnt realize that there was gameplay footage out for the Ps4/Xbox One.
