Welp, Nurburgring just got announced.

Look at the PS4 Project cars videos from E3. Looks identical to the PC.
I think I'll wait for actual gameplay videos rather than basing any comparison from a trailer. I hope they can match those kinds of graphics in race.

I've just taken the Audi RS4 Avant around the Ring. This beauty is on race cams/exhaust/induction and what an amazing sound. It's nice to race on a track long enough and with enough inclines to put serious load on the engine and just listen to the engine and exhaust noises. It's godly.

There are actually gameplay videos from E3. Look it up on YouTube or go to the Project Cars video thread.

I did one lap in the B-class Time Attack Rivals, and man that was terrifying. For a FWD car, it was crazy. I'm going to have tons of time logged on that track.

Wasnt there an incident that came up about the Prague Track for FM5 at last years E3 was much more detailed? Hopefully thats not the case with this. It does look pretty.

Cartoonish? Going into photomode doesnt turn a cartoon into reality. Yes there are some changes in quality, but not a full rehash. Mine certainly doesnt, but my settings on my TV are pretty mild, to match my photomode pictures.
Calling FM graphics "cartoonish" is something that was said years ago and some FM detractors still like to cling to that analogy... even though is make no sense in today.

Is this a joke? graphically it looks miles ahead of Forza 5
Are you a pCARS member? "Potentially" pCARS will have most anything beat graphically but unless you have a very high end PC it doesn't excel. Many of the very impressive screen-shots and video's are by those with monster PC's. I am running a GTX 780, not low end, and I cannot run the graphics settings real high if I want to maintain a high FPS. I expect things will improve with optimization but today FM 5 stacks up "graphically" pretty good.

Lets all just wait IF PCars will be as good of a sim as Forza. I doubt it. Gran Turismo also looked better but gameplay wise it was miles behind anything that T10 released.

I do expect pCARS to be a much better simulator than FM and GT series on the consoles, that's not saying those two series can't compete for gamers attention as they have a different focus. SMS is adding sim racing "features" that FM and GT don't have and most likely won't have in the foreseeable future.

Spot on.

Gee, I thought this thread about the Nurburgring. :p

Well spotted.

To be honest. I think both Forza 5 and pCARS's Nurburgrings look equally matched. :D

I guess FM's 'ring may have a more accurate bumpmap, but... Who cares? It's not like any of us mortals can learn every single bump on the Nordschleife.

Can't wait to play pCARS. Comparing it to FM5 is unfair, tho. Wait until FM6 (which will likely use the day/night and weather technology that will be debuted by Horizon 2) comes out.

Is this a joke?

The PC version should look better but the PS4 definitely doesn't, even off screen you can see pretty low environment textures.
The lighting is much more impressive, as is the colour tone and depth of field. Sure the PC version looks the best but the PS4 is no slough, easily surpassing Forza 5 with its outdated lighting and aliasing. Sure Forza may have better environments but it's hard to tell when racing with superior lighting and that sense of speed. Oh and that weather/night ;)

You will have those who will say otherwise. Honestly, a lot of PC players drive me nuts

PC snobs: "lul no ya noob pc version is way better than yr crap console lewl"

The game is not even out yet, how are these final game comparisons being made.
They're being made on what currently exists. No one is saying they are the definite final outcome, but is it illegal or something to make a humble comparison?

@VXR would love to see (and hear! :D ) a video of your rs4 :)

That's going a bit far, don't you think?

The console versions will be about as close to the PC build as possible, but the PC will edge it out. There's absolutely no way of getting around that. You already have the game running at 12k resolution at E3.

You'd be suprised, T-12, seen so many comments on the internet like this.......
I don't understand why PC and consoles are considered arch enemies by some people, I mean, don't they help each other? :dunce:

Oh, a simple misunderstanding on my behalf then. Apologies.

I know exactly what you mean and while it may be hard to believe, some people are joking when they say such things. If I were to say it for example you wouldn't take me seriously knowing full well I've owned just about every console under the sun at some point or another, in addition to multiple PC builds.

Project Cars doesn't not have a laser-scanned version of the track.

They might have gotten it close but there is no replacement for a real laser scan of a track.

I'll take a locked 60 fps any day over that. Sense of speed isn't going to be that great if the frames dip or are even variable depending on the conditions.

The PS4 version of Project Cars definitely has aliasing and the lighting in Forza 5 is definitely not out of date...

The lighting is actually out of date, it doesn't have time change. Project cars has a much more complex and realistic lighting system. Again though just my humble opinion.

Just because the lighting isn't dynamic doesn't make it out of date... Forza 5 has some extremely nice lighting effects in it.

Just recorded a lap with the Formula Ford and should go up over night.

I'm just going to say this as I don't want to start a fanboy war. I like Forza, I think it is a great game. I like Granturismo I think it is a great game. I think Project Cars will be a great game too. My point is that just because I say something I don't like about a game or bring up one of its flaws doesn't mean I don't like that game.

Why don't you wait till Project Cars actually releases before making determinations as to how it compares with Forza.

Project Cars does not belong in this threads topic.
