I just had the last slice of a Hawaiian I bought for lunch. It was perfect but didn't quite feel me up.........looks like some fried chicken is in order.
Who in there right mind orders a Hawaiian anyway? Pineapple on a pizza is perverse indeed! And another thing, there's nothing either appley or piney about pineapple - what's all that about?!
To be honest, and I didn't mention it before, I ordered it without pineapple.
You see, I'm one of those very fusser eaters and I don't actually like pineapple so I specifically learnt the word in Chinese to ask for them to omit it. Essentially I just got a ham pizza.
It's embarrassing telling people that I won't touch a bit of veg to save my life but I'll eat hotpot duck guts by the bucket load. Since I was a kid I've been funny about what I eat, if I love it then I'll stuff my face. If I hate it I will refuse to eat it.
Now you tell me! I'm forever to be know as the 'pineapple fool'... the shame.
I used to be quite fussy as a kid and my parents were slightly worried. They didn't need to be because there's nothing that I won't shovel in with gusto. My motto is to 'try anything at least once'. True in so many ways, but perhaps more so with food...
EDIT: Does anyone know the latin for 'try anything at least once'?
