Because saying "No" to kids is one of the hardest things to do? Either the cheeky smile comes out or the "If you say no, you'll break my heart."
Rest assured I have absolutely no trouble saying no to my boys. When it comes to lunch, it's not worth the trouble so I ask them what they want. First answer was pizza, which got shot down as we had that yesterday for lunch. Supper, on the other hand, is completely up to me and you'll like it or you'll be hungry!

Tonight it's lasagna and garlic bread.

Out on the deck.

Yes, Keef, for the first time this year.
 Good one.
I do try. :D

I think parents are the same where ever you are, that kids can pick what they want for lunch. However, dinner time is for the parents.

So, I made country fried pork chop, canned peas (I admit, that was for myself, but mostly for the youngest boy) with homemade herb, butter and Parmigiano-Reggiano noodles.

Well, thanks Solid! All I could think about was a good ole greasy hamburger for dinner. A new burger place called 5 Guys Burgers and Fries just opened up so we headed in. It was great, their standard burger is a double patty, hand formed ground beef with your choice of toppings. I went with bacon, cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms, lettuce, ketsup and mustard. It was AWESOME, best fast food burger in town. The fries were pretty good to, freshly cut, not frozen fries. All cooked in peanut oil.

What was keeping me here in LA was no In-N-Out in Montana. Now... :)

Good news, Pako. There is a 5 guys here in Ft. Lauderdale. I'll have to check it out now the next time I'm on the east side.

Ice cream just keeps getting better, and better...

I had my favorite meal tonight, beef and cheese enchiladas with Mexican rice. It was spicy; the way I like it.

Hint of Jalapeño Tostitos and salsa, pretty much the same thing I have every night for a snack.

Crazy. Is that stuff any good?

Anyways...

Of course it's good. It tastes pretty much just like the fried chicken, minus the crispy. I don't know that it's national-hype, wait-15-minutes-because-they're-out-of-it good, but yeah it's good. Still, no matter what KFC comes up with Chick-Fil-A will always be better.

Also, I found out I kinda like cream soda...

...mainly because my mom never realized red cream soda is actually called red cream soda. Both my parents thought it was just cream soda!

I love cake and ice cream combo. It's the best. What is my favorite is Devil's Food Chocolate Cake with Milk Chocolate Icing with Ben & Jerry's Chocolate and Fudge Brownie Ice Cream. Dutch boys love their chocolate.

Tonight's dinner was Mexican Skillet Surprise. Beef, tomato soup, beef, spices, chilies, cheddar cheese and chopped tortillas. Too hot for it, but I didn't have to make it. ;)

I just ate chicken flavored Ramen. Maruchan, actually. Except I used a whole pot of water for one packet so I had to dump in some Adobo.

I succeeded in putting the grill together this afternoon (with a little "help" from the kids) and tried it out tonight. The chicken marinated all day, but it was old so it didn't cook up all that great. Not bad, though. And you can't argue with grill lines like this:

Along with the chicken we had Stove Top (made on the side burner) and Bush's Baked Beans (warmed in the microwave (no one's perfect :indiff:)) and ate on the deck. Great evening!

Bonus: My wife has expressed interest in grilling (finally!) so I ran her through how to use it.

Right now, I'm making Fillet Mignon, Lyonnaise Potatoes and streamed green beans. The potatoes are in the oven, and I just lit some charcoal for the BBQ. Gotta get back to it.

i wanna eat, i should eat, but im feeling crappy. soooo ugh no food for me, i need to eat though maybe oats in meal form. yumm that sounds good.

Currently sipping on some Faygo Orange... then I'm going to have some scalloped potatoes (out of the box and less than a dollar)... then its steak time :D --- Randy

I just had some chocolate covered potato chips a friend brought. Interesting indeed they taste better then I thought they would and. Although after you've had a couple, you know its time to stop before the flavours get too much.

Brats, beans, potato salad, chips and cookies with tea.

Just had some fries and some milk. Ah, the joys of being broke in America.:nervous: --- Randy
