Right now, I’m drinking Mountain Dew Berry Monsoon. Never tried it before until now and I really like it! It’s a shame they’re discontinuing it soon, this may be the only time I ever get to drink it. :(
Start saving now and you may be able to buy some off of eBay after they do.

Made a Sauce [not-so] Piquante with chicken thighs--using red and green bells and a couple seeded red Anaheims--on brown rice with a quick Brussels sprout and apple salad.

Am I the only one on this planet who has problems finding stuff (aka food, receipe) to prepare for lunch?

:ouch:

It's going to be a .....

... Cheeseburger

"Hawaii" bowl.
Marinated salmon and tuna, avocado and mango, on top of rice.

I had to drive around a lot today to get my cheeseburger. The first place was closed due to their yearly vacation, the second hamburger joint I thought of was closed and opened up at least one hour later. The third place didn't have Hannibal sauce and the fourth was a succes.

Grilled burger with grilled onion (on the new grilling mat - worked great) with two slices of CoJack, two slices of bacon, BBQ sauce, mayo and butter lettuce on a grilled Sweet Hawaiian bun.

Not pictured - the tots that weren't ready yet.

Also did burgers, but on the flat top, Kaiser rolls, charred scallions, dark red summer lettuce, sauce (equal parts mayonnaise and whole grain mustard, a squirt of yellow mustard, a splash of pickle brine and a dash of onion powder)...cheeseless. Fried pickle planks on the side with homemade ranch dressing.

Also did burgers
There has been a request from Thing 2 for the next burger. I'm partly intrigued and partly worried. Stay tuned. :ill:

Currently on my third S'more. Should have stopped at two but S'whatever.

I barely eat nuts. There are days that I don't even touch nuts anymore. I think my body is fed up with nuts.

This morning I had a cold sausage for breakfast, a four and twenty branded sausage roll for lunch and a Mrs. Macs sausage roll for dinner. But since variation of diet is essential for good health, tomorrow I plan to have the Mrs Macs sausage roll for breakfast, the cold sausage for lunch and the For and Twenty sausage roll for dinner.

Since we had a brunch, and my daughter went back to her moms early. Think I might do a late dinner and sous vide some patio steaks and make some mashed potatoes and maybe since broccoli. Or just reheat some lasagna.

A slice of buttermilk pie and a caramelized peach half. Kinda stupid eating this late--let alone dessert--but it's so danged good.

I hope I don't get heartburn.

my daughter went back to beer 3 moms early
What? :boggled:

First attempt smoking pork with the grill. I should have added more wood but was busy on the patio and didn't want to lift the lid any more than I had to. In the end, it didn't get quite hot enough to render some of the fat down but with some reserved rub concoction added after the shredding, it didn't need a thing once a healthy amount was plopped onto a Sweet Hawaiian bun. Kinda have a thing for them lately.

Because I just grabbed what was in the freezer, the left one is a chunk of tenderloin and the right Boston butt. Made for a good mix. :P

His daughter started drinking again before having three children. Duh.

:)

I suspect it's "my daughter went back to her mom's early", but with poor brain-to-screen communication.
I was assuming that it was the third consecutive result of an offspring with his third different drunken one night stand.

Today's my birthday. When asked what I wanted for lunch, I immediately said "sardines". It's been more than a year since I had some and the desire was instant.
Throw in a nice tomato salad and I'm in heaven.
Good thing I'm in the Algarve, too, where one can have the best sardines in the world.

Sardines are a wonderful fish, and they ought not be thought of only in the context of the can with a pulltab lid packed in oil, tomato sauce or mustard sauce.

Grill them up and put them on bread that has been oiled, grilled and rubbed with fresh garlic, then top with a salsa cruda or simply fresh parsley and a squeeze of lemon.

Edit: Oh, and happy annibirthary @35mm.
