I’m so confused that a mental image of a Cow/Bear hybrid popped up in my head

Imagine the roaring “MOOOOOO” from the woods.

Salmon that was marinated for one day in a medley of Mediterranean seasonings then cooked in a half TBSP of butter and a drizzle of olive oil with skin-on.

After cooking the salmon I took the fettuccine after it sat for a little then added to the leftover salmon fixings in the skillet, then added garlic and leftover spinach, and added a sliver of butter and some shredded hard cheese cheese from a block I had leftover. I think it was Romano.

My mum was craving some vegetarian snacks so I tried these Quorn picnic eggs and by george, they appear to've gone and cracked it. Regular carnivore eggs have only a thin layer of sausagemeat between the egg and breadcrumbs and their spice mix approximated the taste of this pretty well as far as my tastebuds are concerned.

Salvaged half a Five Guys and some chips from a local fish shop. The last shop I went to didn't cook the chips properly so I had to go further afield. These ones are perfect after five minutes in the air fryer.

I had a burger and fries with a pint of Session IPA at Innis & Gunn (a local pub/brewery), but it was super annoying...

The guy got my order wrong and brought me a steak sandwich (which my mate ordered) - but, the last 2 times I ordered it, I couldn't eat it because it was not cooked properly. The last time I sent it back and asked for it to be remade, which took forever and spoiled the lunch. So, I didn't take the wrong order (which looked just as bad as it was last time) and waited for them to make the burger that I ordered.

Typically, it took forever, and everyone else was finished by the time my food arrived, and we were ready to leave. I asked them to box it up, and they charged me half price, which was a decent gesture, but it was still £6 for the pleasure of sitting there for the best part of an hour with no food...

Steak sandwich on a ciabatta roll (or what passes for a ciabatta at an up north grocery store) with bell peppers, poblano, green onions, and smoked provolone cheese. I added aji verde sauce to it, too. I also fried up some sweet potatoes with cinnamon and sugar. Finally, it's my favorite time of year when Michigan corn is available. I'm eating corn for the next three weeks as much as possible because once it's gone, I won't eat it again until next summer, because I can't stand non-Michigan corn. Of course, I washed it all down with several beers.

Quite expensive for a ready meal (£5.50) but it is a generous amount of food and it was really good.

Instead of rice, I bought some Clay Oven Garlic & Coriander naans from Morrison's - they were also really good, and it £1.85 for a pack of three, it was something of a bargain.

Store bought naan breads are notoriously poor, but these were very good indeed - sprinkled with a bit of water and chucked in the oven for 2 minutes, they were the closest to restaurant-quality naans that I've had, with the exception of another product that Morrison's also used to sell.

So for just over £7, it was a proper 'fake-away'.

The folks at KFC thought it'd be a great idea to drench one of their Zinger burgers in Supercharger sauce this month. I probz need my head examined for taking this on but every so often I get these self-destructive urges.

I used to love a KFC, but I've not had a decent one in years.

Perhaps it's just the sheer joylessness of the staff in the two branches near me, but it's now well and truly off my radar.

However, that does look tasty and reminds me of better times when a trip to KFC was a rare treat.

As an aside, when I first moved to my apartment, I Googled KFC and was surprised and delighted to discover there was one just 7-8 mins walk away. As I got closer, however, I was beginning to doubt Google's information - and, it turned out it was Kelvingrove Free Church :ouch: I think someone was just having a laugh when they tagged it on Google Maps as KFC. That said, I was so pathetic, I actually went inside in case they had a KFC concession, as the Uni has a Subway concession inside the student's union. They didn't.

When I took my visiting Chelsea-mad nephew to their home ground of Stamford Bridge for the tour, the historian gleefully informed us that neighbouring team Kensington Football Club originally shortened their name using their initials until the fast-food giant objected so they were instead forced to change it to FC Kensington which, of course, has a far less problematic abbreviation.

Found these at the local Afghan greengrocers across from the Kentucky. I had no idea they were a thing but I guess a multinational conglomerate like Nestlé is bound to manufacture confectionery for foreign markets (in this case, Türkiye) that they don't over here.

Just tried the baklava bar and it is sheer nutty crunch heaven. If you ever come across one of these I urge you to snap it up immediately If you can afford the dentist's bills.

Back in the day (half a century ago) Nestlé used to make Star Trek cartoon bars embossed with a relief of the USS Enterprise (wrapper enclosed) which were white chocolate with crunchy sugary bits in and these are like those but much better.

How long have you guys been eating at KFC? We liked their mashed potatoes back in the early 2000's. And their soft drinks were crisp and refreshing to drink.

Since the 1970s before they were called KFC.

A branch of Popeyes is under construction in the next town though so I may not be eating there much longer.
