I tried Hormel chili a while back on a whim and it was surprisingly good. Not in a "I expected it to make my stomach turn inside-out" way, but in a "Holy 🤬 this is good" kind of way.

This is not that.

Between my broken taste buds (supertaster) and my wife's gluten intolerance, we're not big beer drinkers but we do both like ciders.

Funnily enough, I just saw a local magazine called 'Pints of View' and it names a classic old pub called "The Jolly Judge" as Edinburgh's Cider Pub of the Year. The pub is in a close just off The Royal Mile, approx 200 yds/2 mins from where you are staying (I think). It was actually stop #1 on my list of Edinburgh pubs to visit when @Sage was here, but annoyingly it was closed! That said, we hardly had enough time to visit the remainder of the pubs on my list - a pub crawl in Edinburgh is fun whether you are drinking anything or not, as it is a beautiful city with lots of great venues.

I'm a big fan of Ramen, but it is expensive and not always that good here. I had Ramen in Japan several times, and it was amazing - but I think that has set an impossible standard to replicate here.

I actually got off the Shinkansen in Yokohama just to pull off the ultimate work practical joke and visit the Ramen Museum there, as at the time I was working on Raman spectroscopy - I pretended I'd gone all the way to Japan for a Raman conference, only to discover it was a Ramen conference...

Thanks, turned out good lol especially since I haven’t baked one in months. The green stuff is just mixed greens like arugula, spinach and other stuff. They’re super earthy to the point where they cut through the pizza flavor.

I made another for lunch/dinner today. This time I mixed sheep’s milk cheese and mozzarella.

There’s a nice pub nearby but I resisted and went ahead with making a pub style pizza with the rest of my dough and drinking a nostalgic PBR.

I added a lots of seasonings to this one, including cayenne pepper.

Last night for dinner, we ate some white rice, fried zucchini slices, turkey subs, mashed potatoes and some leftover chicken tenders. It was a delicious and relaxing meal for us. We enjoyed every bit of it.

Woooaahh. That’s awesome. How was the taste overall? I’d imagine a game taste, but I’m curious about how the sausage process changed that. Also, what casing did you use?

I had chicken tenders from one of my favorite bars, breaking the challenge to not eat out. Still more cooking remains!

@phillgt2002 When we butcher the animals we use as little as possible of its fat and remove as much as possible of the sinew, that’s where generally the game taste comes from. We also mix the venison with pork. You can’t tell that it’s wild game. We made 4 different blends, the one in the picture is maple/brown sugar breakfast sausage.

My thoughts exactly - I was absolutely love that packet, but it wouldn't love me.

I still eat some spicy stuff, but I think something like ghost pepper salami would literally be asking for trouble; still, if I were left in a room alone with that stuff, there's virtually no chance I wouldn't eat it anyway.
