This tastes so nice I doubt it'll last until the having-to-freeze-it stage. Especially after a few days marinading itself to let the nam pla and spices sink in. They even included a little tub of crushed peanuts and a lemon portion to squeeze.
I stopped at my old apartment to pick up a few more items (it’s like the crap in my bedroom just keeps multiplying). Hung out with my now ex-roommate for a while. He ordered a Cali Chicken Club meal delivered. Unfortunately, despite it saying it was made with gluten-free bread (he has serious allergic reactions to gluten), it was clearly made with regular bread. He called the restaurant and they told him to just keep it and they’ll send a correct order right out. I was about to get in my car when he flagged me down and gave me the incorrect order. Dinner for free!
Steak strips with left-over smoked fish gratin and steamed veg...
The gratin was our main last night and it was really good, and it served as a nice side and sauce for the steak, which was marinaded but otherwise just served plain. It was nicely soft on the inside - but its difficult to get it right in terms of softness and temperature. A success nevertheless.
