This is the best "canned" soup I have ever tasted.

Seinfeld's "Soup Nazi" episode was based on this guy's soup shop.

The tomato bisque is also very good. It is a little pricey ($3.99) but well worth it. If you see it in the grocery store I highly recommend picking some up.

Who is Zagat? Should I google?

Learn something new everyday. The Soup Nazi had a soup strainer, though. You know . . . fuzz on the upper lip. Maybe that was a part of the parody, too.

Yeah, but that was just an actor.

Crunch - I got that the guy in the series is just an actor (have been watching Seinfeld for ages - and not only because he's got a ton of Porsches ;) ) but the box says : ZAGAT RATED THE BEST. Is Zagat the name of the real guy?
I have to look around for that soup now - since of course if you are any kind of Seinfeld fan, you'd wonder what that damn soup really tasted like. To see the gang (usually so cynical of anything) so humble, while trying to get that soup (even without the bun.. . .)
George always pushes his luck.. . .

I don't usually drink blended scotches - but for some reason the pink and gold, as well as the word Islay . . . I mean what bad could come out of Islay?
So I imbibe in some of its spirit . . . and may I see the mist again.. . . :)

Zagat is a travel and restaurant rating guide. They used to publish a book in the days before the internet.

You might see there logo on restaurants' front windows.

Was supposed to go out and pick something up for dinner. Then it started raining and didn't feel like it. So, bacon bean soup and an onion bagel it was.

Aha. Yes. It rings a bell. Had a sense of deja vu reading that name.

The Zagat Guide to . . . . I must have some buried in here.

Thanks for the reply :) 👍

Roasted pheasant and partridges tonight, goose tomorrow and 48 hour marinated turkey on Boxing Day. So the usual AT household 'flock of meat' Christmas! :D

I cooked some ribs for the first time last night ever. They came out decent but still need to play around with the rub and temps (I think I had a little too much rub and didn't stay as hot as needed over time).

Such a horrible joke to be made here.

I really want my family to get a smoker so I can make some St. Louis style ribs.

So what am I eating right now? Fudge.

Had a late brunch. Went out for cheeseburgers. Will have some holiday snacks later tonight with christmas cookies, fudge and eggnog.

Would you believe there's bar-b-qued ribs going? Early morning Christmas party.

Had a sip of Shiraz in the afternoon and that was it - but I'm wondering whether to get the Shiraz out again, or go for a cold Guinness.

Cold Guinness draught it is.

Santa didn't eat the cookies or drink the milk the kids left out for him and someone has to keep the dream alive, so... :D

Christmas Dinner: Rib Eye Roast, stuffing, baked potato, green beans and rolls. Not bad considering I didn't make a damn thing. Two chocolate chip christmas cookies for dessert with a glass of eggnog.

Second annual Papa Murphy's holiday pizza was a complete success! Five meat stuffed crust for me and the boys, nasty Mediterranean something or other for my wife, cheesy bread and apple dessert pizza.

I didn't even get the joke at first lol.

Im going to try trimming them next time before hand and less rub. Im using a regular round charcoal grill .

I'm going out now to have my first McDonald's of the week....and it's Thursday! Man, I've missed those spicy wings. I'm sure they're laced with crack or something.

Wait a min, McDonald's has wings? KFC is only fast food place here that does that's chain. Their hot and spicy mcchicken is like crack to me and mcribs.

I think it's a Chinese menu special. I had a look for them in the UK and some parts of Europe but it seems they only appear on the menu here. Damn tasty they are.

Later this day...

During my lunch outing I picked up some chicken breast (and burger buns) which I have just seasoned with chilli and white pepper and put in the oven. Came out wonderful and as I type I'm just finishing the last bites. Yum.
