If theres no hood/bonnet view on standards then logically you would settle for the classic bumper cam.

I too hate chase cams, you can't really tell what the car is doing.

For me it will be interior, keen to use the PS Eye for head tracking (or at least see what its like) if its in the final build :sly:

Mostly the bumper cam; you get a greater sense of speed. However, with those rain effects I may be lured into the cockpit - does look stunning. I really don't like the chase cam; seems far too 'arcade game' and takes away from the 'The Real Driving Simulator' epithet.

there is not hood view. At least there is the roof view and from that in some cars you can see the hood.

However for me exist only the cockpit view, for standard cars i'll use bumper view even if it sucks.

I can't stand the interior view (or 'cockpit' as some people call it). Why do I want half the screen taken up by dead space? I want to see the full width and height of the track, the surroundings and every pixel of those glorious graphics.

Bumper cam for me, it's lowest to the ground so the feeling of speed is accentuated.

yes.. in fact a saw a dtm race yesterday with drivers bond to the bumper, there was so much dead space in the cockpit... and the glorious graphic is also in the cockpit, problaby even better than track's graphic.

I'm changing my mind...

I was trying out the hood esque roof cam in prologue today and I descided I don't like the crappy bar tachometer so I'f theres no cockpit view ill use bumper cam.

You don't get it do you?

It's a game. Not real life. Sorry to break it to ya.

it's meant to be a driving simulation, you drive from the seat and you have cockpit visual while driving. To me it should be the only view allowed.

Well I've been using that bumper cam since GT. I only picked up the interior view a couple years ago, but I like it. However, my response time in the interior is slightly slower than my bumper cam response time. Same for some of my friends. So I'll be using the interior cam, but if the race is real close and its the last lap, Im switchin to bumper.

I think your view (haha no pun intended) of using cockpit only would only be valid if all of us had some sort of TrackIR device or tripple monitors...something that could replicate a better surrounding so the human VOF can be effectively applied to the game view.

And yet they let you control the cars with a joypad, as if it's just a game or something?

Chase cam for me but i do sometimes use the bumper/roof cam but i prefer the chase one.
Seeing the amount of people using the cockpit mode I now understand why lots of you were annoyed at the possible lack of interior view with standard car's.

I will be using the chase cam primarily while getting accustomed
to the cockpit view. Since the first racing game Ive ever played Ive
pretty much always stayed with the 3rd person chase, but seeing the detail and added excitement/immersion some of these cockpits provide, I may be riding in-car the majority of the time ;)

90% of the time i think I will stick with the 3rd person view. I have raced in that view since the PSOne. But I will defintiely be trying out the 1st person view as well don't get me wrong. :)

There is a lot of confusing information regarding hood vs roof view in this thread. Do we know if Hood view will be replacing the old Roof view as seen in Prologue?

I would like Hood view over Roof view personally, and will be either playing in Bumper or Hood view as cockpit blocks half the road. If the cockpit view removed the steering wheel and put the camera a bit forward it would be much better IMO.

cockpit is the best but i'm not really thinking of getting premium. i guess the hood view is the next best (realistic) view.

How hard is it for PD to have hood view? All we have is this ROOF view, its fine, but not as good as Hood view. SO I dont know why PD cant make everyone happy with a simple added view?

I will use third person the most but if I have the option drive sometimes in the cockpit.

I mostly use the cockpit view, but sometimes I do like bumper view. Seeing a steering wheel on screen move slower than my wheel kinda distracts me after a while and gets hard to stop fixating on.

I have until recently mainly used the chase cam, but now for me it depends on the car/track combination and my mood.
I use whichever i feel the most comfortable with, which means I tend to use chase cam for faster/low slung racing cars and the roof cam for the slower/higher (and therefore can restrict my view) road cars (with GT4).
I think it also depends on my mood and the car; the roof cam is my default, especially if i wanna chase time (licences etc) or drive a FF car, but the faster a car is the more likely i am to use the chase cam.
If i have enough concentration, ill opt for the interior view where available, which i tend to use in combination with the chase cam, well thats what i do with GT Legends anyway.
Also it seems i'm one of the minority of people who prefer to have a steering wheel on screen when in cockpit view, even when im using a steering wheel (g25), i guess i concentrate on the screen not my hands (Again based solely on GT Legends).

I used to always use 3rd Person view in all racing games, but then started to try out bumper cam in GT4 and loved it. So I'm sure it'll be Bumper but will obviously try out Cockpit view.
