I am very bored with GT5, what can I do in the game so it's fun again?

No online, I gave up on that.

play another game for a while then come back to GT5. 👍

Join a league and only race that once or twice a week. Makes things very exciting for that day. You get to practice and tune your spec'd car, then qualify and race. You get points in your league and you have something to aim for in the following weeks. Thats all I have left with this game. I only race now twice a week only by doing this and nothing else in game other than buying an occassional car or visiting the tuning shop or GT Auto.

Play shift 2 for a week, you will soon be back. LOL

No thanks, I already have Shift 1, that one is good enough.

Shift 2 is pretty good, and is also a long game..

Buy all premium cars, equip them with one tyre compound lower than stock, turn off all HUD, interior view, and just enjoy.

Forza 4 whilst listening to Yellow Brick. Obviously.

I can also listen to Yellow Brick while going to the toilet.

Buy all premium cars, equip them with one tyre compound lower than stock, turn off all HUD, interior view, and just enjoy.

Which track? The Nordscheifle is perfect but too long.

If you are bored and dont like online then abandon all hope and get a new game.

Try a new type of racing like NASCAR or something.

Do you race with all assists off?, if you dont turn off everything including ABS and try and master cars like the 787b, its so fun. Also, do you use a wheel or DS3

I went through a rough patch where cars were feeling samey, and just not engaging enough. It was all getting a bit "easy".

But now this is where I am at. ALL assists off, all displays off, but using interior view of premium cars; basic tyres (sports hard for example). Just trying to master driving; feeling my way through.

Losing never felt better. It's like a whole new game. I can't get enough of it. Even the beginner races are extremely challenging. Wonderful. (and this is after perhaps 30000 miles of ingame driving).

I started a second game... And I did the GTP_XXXX version so its my 100% A-Spec account. I will use my main account to send cars and things like that to the new account which makes starting over less irritating because its not about credits anymore... And as I leveled up to level 17 in a day playing the Online Seasonals its not about the levels anymore either.

I think this game its just about good ole a-spec and allows me not to be distracted with trading, online play or anything else. Hey, and as I play through and get tickets I can just send them back over to my main account adding more to that too... lol

I do like the above mentioned ideas of not tuning the car and just driving what you get. I may go through the A-Spec race series with that mindset if I can stick to that... lol

(Like you noisiaturismo I started getting bored of where I am at in my main game which made me over a week ago set up another account on my PS3 and I sealed the deal a few days ago with the PSN registration on it.)

Don't worry this happened to me. I just did as many said an turned HUD off, when I turn it on it just looks dirty now :)

Just set yourself a goal such a I want a red, blue, black and yellow X2010 and build up to it over time, I have six now and only really coming on on a Thursday for the new seasonals.

Take a NASCAR around the 'ring at night while it's raining in under 9 mins and without leaving the track. No aids. :p

I recently joined the Fall Roadster Battle Tuning Shootout as a tuner and then recently Wallbanger's Ton's of Fun as both a tuner and test driver. I found myself really enjoying the test driving part of it along with the tuning, testing a group of 6 cars on two tracks, trying to hot lap while at the same time reviewing the cars overall performance. Lots of different cars from Jag's to Audi's to a Challenger etc. Links should be below.

Dr Heathenpride recommends the following as a cure for GT5 boredom

1x Daily non stop dose of Skyrim - Repeat daily until symptoms cease or your doses run out in 2014

1x Weekly dose of Dead Island - This medication is dangerous though so be warned, it can cause non drowsiness and has been known to cause cases of extreme cantbebotheredwiththerealworld-itis that have been known to last months.

1x Weekly dose of GT5 on a rigidly prescribed evening. You can do this alone or with others in your home too if you need someone to help admister your dose.

So there it is, curing boredom with Dr HP

I never turn assists off and I use DS3.

Online freerun, nurburgring 24h, rain.. at night.. sports (hard?)... real traction, heavy damage and one stress ball.

That's one of your problems. Even with ds3 there is a massive difference with and without assists - not using them makes it much more involving.

With assists on the cars feel dead and lose their individual characters. ABS =1 and low TC if needed, but always try with TC=0. And use manual gears.

Also once you know a track ditch the driving line. You will normally do better without it and driving is more interesting as you are not just following a line.

- If you can afford it, buy a wheel
- Join WRS
- Try beat my laptimes (not that hard :ouch: )
- Get platinum
- Find the worst car able to win a specific race
- Remember the game have 1000+ cars, not just the one you drove

if nothing helps, you need something else

I found something amusing, doing the Gran Turismo Rally in special events and racing Japanese people online. Untill my internet stopped and my PS3 decided it was hopeless.

I also want to collect all 1000 cars and drive them, as I found a bug while testing one.

How about trying to seek glitches or some hidden features in the game? It will be a good chance to get to know more about GT5, but will be better to stay out of the game to put yourself in comfort.
