Got some new windscreen wipers for the car yesterday. I can now see out of it when i drive, which is nice.

Stared at it, then looked away...Then looked at the snow in anger.

Thread Revival: CLEAR!!!!!

*kuzzzap*

Yesterday I installed a set of foglights under the front bumper of the Nova. I'll make sure to aim them low, don't worry.

Saturday I got my truck the dirtiest it has ever been. The mud build-up on my tires actually caused the vehicle to shake above 50mph for several miles before most of it fell off.

I also bought some used KC Daylighters for $30.

I started it up to keep the battery going. Not a very good car for the Canadian Winter. Refilled the washer fluid.

It's a succulent ride on dry road, and I wouldn't ever trade that ultra-quiet cabin for anything else. It's just not a great car with Winter or gasoline, although it's probably one of the most reliable cars ever in Canada.

Oddly enough, maintenance costs for this luxury sedan are much cheaper than an AW11 MR2 from many years ago.

That's an LS, isn't it? 👍👍

Amen on the quiet cabin and good ride. I do hope your instrument cluster lights haven't burned out yet. :scared:

FYI: If your power steering pump dies, it's taking your alternator with it as collateral damage. :dopey:

Yep, it's 1993 LS 400. My gauge cluster is still fine, although my climate control LCD has blackened out (a hysterically common problem with the LS) and the springs are sagging a bit from the heavy weight: about 1800kg without me. Oddly, the ABS and Traction Control computers seemed to have mulfunctioned, but that was during an electrical dealership service, so I'll get that fixed. Other than that, I've had no problems with it whatsoever for 235,000km. Timing belt was changed at 95,000km, but oil changes are possibly more frequent than most sports cars:tdown:. It was stored on the driveway for about a year, so the brake discs needed to be sanded. But that's pretty much it for a 15 year old car.

I'll take note about the alternator if the PS gives out. Thanks

taken the rover for mot and service, all fine again (im always surprised :dopey: ) and now my headlights are pointing right hurrah and hopefully the squeeky-brakes-while-not-braking issue is sorted :D

So today, after I woke up, check tire pressures and oil and transmission fluid. Seemed like pressure in back of my two tires was little off so i put more. And I yet have to wash the car, but seems like its going to rain.

I'm about to go to the dealership and buy a right front hub for my car. Then tomorrow, weather pending, I'm going to be disassembling the right front, pressing the old, dead bearing out, pressing the new one in, and hopefully not having to use the new hub. That'll save me $175 when I take it back.

Wheels and tires should be coming in today, so I might put them on the Hyundai either today or over the weekend.

My Stepdad's '93 LS400 went until 282,000 miles. :)

Changed the serpintine belt and alternator on the Camaro. He's running good again. :D Passed 242,300 miles today. :)

Got up... Cleaned some bird droppings off the hood, checked and topped off the oil, and torqued the wheels. I then set the tires up to 48 PSI as well as putting $10 in the tank. Dropped & equalised the tires at 44 PSI, took out everything I didn't need and then some, and proceeded to beat the living hell out of it for about seven minutes (which took all day).

Beautiful day for autocross.

Got really angry with it on the M1 Northbound.

what was up with the matiz Danachronism?

discovering the squeeky-brakes-while-not-braking issue is still there >.< everything looks ok but its too infrequent that its hard to show anyone. still, running fine sure the 130mile trip on friday will get me worried again lol

I spent quality time with my Ute. In less than 12hrs (tomorrow morning) I will probably know whether or not it needs an engine rebuild over some stupid thing. If it does I can not afford it and will probably have to sell :( Which also means the end of my life for an unspecified period of time. (No transport no job no money)

Damn dude, do they have autocrosses every single weekend there? I think I might have to move to Victoria. Even during the summer we only have them every month.

The back-left wheel became eggshaped on the M1.:(

That reminds me, I need a new spare.

Nah, they're usually every second weekend in the summer, I've got a little over a month till the next one in the meantime.

(Results were posted yesterday. 13th Of 45, by PAX results. Woot.)

1. Put 1pt of Seafoam in full gas tank.
2. Put 2/3 of 1pt of Seafoam in crankcase (oil).
3. Ran 1/3 of 1pt of Seafoam through PCV vaccuum line.
4. New air flter.
5. New PCV valve.
6. Cleaned out throttle body.
7. Cleaned out general area around TB and intake.
8. Drove it in 2nd gear to help burn out the carbon (high RPM = good).

The results is my car is running fantastic! I love it. There was some carbon and sludge built up--and thus burned out. Now it runs as good as it did 50,000 miles ago when I did all of these things at the same time. Now all I need is to replace/remove the EGR valve and smog pump. :D
