What is your favorite manufacturer?

Hi GT Planet,

I was wondering what manufacturers (make) from GT5 are popular with the GT Planet Community!

So lets find out.

Anyway, I like Nissan, audi, mercedes, Pagani and Shelby Supercars. (Thats a different shelby than Carrol Shelby of Ford. Shelby and Shelby Supercars are two completely separate and unrelated companies.)

Just like in real life I'm not really brand loyal. I like a lot of different cars from different manufacturers. It's great to enjoy an NSX in one race and then run a Challenger SRT-8 in the next. Even if the driving experience isn't 100% true to life, I like how they managed to give each car their own character that seems to suit how you imagine they would drive.

BMW is my favorite automaker by far, or at least they were between the years of 1970-2003. Back then they were somewhat affordable compared to other German competitors, and a whole lot of fun.

EDIT: Although the E92 M3 and the Mini range are an exception to this trend of BMW getting softer.

I've owned dozens of cars from numerous manufacturers, but I've always owned a BMW at any given time. I think the fit and finish on American cars are getting better, but still not Bavarian good.

I like Ford for the Ford GT and GT40
I like Subaru for the 22B and other rally cars
I like Ferrari however for all their cars.

In other words, I also have a soft spot for Mitsu's. Though other than Subie there aren't any manufactures I particularly despise. Even if they have done unspeakable things and made terrible cars I won't hate them for it.

It may be childish of me but I voted Ferrari. They just have such a wide array of striking and beautiful cars. Not to mention the heritage and the fact that most of the models in the game are phenominal to drive. Just the 458, Scuderia, and F40 to name a few.

After seeing the poll, Nissan is a close second between all of the Skylines and Z cars, but in the end, they're still just Nissans. And if there was more Lambo love in GT5 they'd give Ferrari a close run in my book, but with the lack of Aventador, Diablo, and some of the Gallardo variants, there just isn't enough bull to win me over.

I've always loved Honda in Gran Turismo, probably down to the great handling Fwds, the NSX and screaming Type-R models!!!

In fact, not a specifc manufacturer. In general I really like rocket-pockets and sports sedans like Impreza and Lancer EVO.

I voted Nissan. Since they bought Datsun (who bought Prince) they have the GT-R, the Silvias, and the Z cars, on top of the Infinity G series and the SXs. Yes, there are better cars from others, but I think Nissan has a wider range of hits.

This is just in the game. Out of the game, I'm 100% Toyota (though I did enjoy my Subaru). But I buy for price and reliability. And I don't buy American built Toyotas, I buy Toyotas built in Japan, but on a boat, and shipped over here.

My favorite manufacturer in GT5 is Ferrari. A great selection of modern and classic sports cars and supercars, F1 race cars and classic race cars. And all of them premium! Only thing missing are race cars like a 430 race car or a 458 race car.

But in the end Nissan is my favorite (my father has an Altima just waiting for a driver )
