I'm a big fan of Oasis, especially Noel Gallagher, but felt that their later releases were pretty weak. I checked out the Beady Eye website, and while I was pretty impressed with "The Roller", two other songs they had posted sounded like some of the crappier songs Oasis released late in their career.I am planning on picking up Oasis's next, wait . . . Beady Eye's debut album first thing when it releases next month.
It's steadily becoming one of my favourite Bright Eyes albums, definitely not their worst album but not quite their best. It sounds like it has evolved from Digital Ash in a Digital Urn, but there's definitely some slight elements from their more folky albums. Conor's vocals aren't quite as depressing as in past albums, if this really is the final Bright Eyes album, then it's kinda like he's saying "oh, but everything's alright in the end". If you haven't got any Bright Eyes albums then this would be a good one to start off with, along with I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning.I'm really thinking about getting that Bright Eyes album. On a scale of 1 to 10, how good is it?
I'm also a Oasis fan. How did you like it?![]()
Picked it up today after work. Listened to the first two songs on my way home from Best Buy.
I'm also a Oasis fan.
How [do] you like [Different Gear, Still Speeding]?
Edit: I don't know how big of a fan you are, or if I told you this before, but at their Portland show, I saw Gem Archer & Andy Bell walking right through the isle. I shook hands with Gem.![]()
They were walking right through the end walkway/isle thing, and I was the only one who noticed the two. I'm just short of starting to jump up & down, screaming like a school girl(ok, not really)and everyone around me's just completely unaware. I'll never forget that. That is pretty awesome. I do not even know if I could pick Gem and Andy out of a lineup if I were asked. Gem maybe, but not likely on Andy Bell. Noel and Liam on the other hand . . .
