makes the rest of our complaints seem like stupid whining. sheesh, shot in the face? thats just harsh

damn....
well nothing really pisses me off when u NOW have to sit through tv commercials and THEN new movie previews.

1.) When people sit behind you and begin to talk, not out right talking but murmuring. Of course you can here this because murmurs are quite low-toned, and it stands out from the film.

I was about to turn around and thump some guy once, but then I realise he was about a foot taller then me and was about 10 years older.

2.) People bring little kids to a theater, and the kid proceeds to stand up in his seat right in front of me because he can't see the screen.

Last time I went to watch a movie (Kill Bill Vol. 1) The was two annoying guys a couple of seats to the left of me. They started commenting on nearly every scene in the movie, and sometimes making fun of the actors in the movie. In between they were just talkin to each other. A LOT of people around them were shushing them. Later told them to shut up! - Still no reaction. :irked:
At the end credtis, I walked over to the guys and said that if they just went to the cinema to talk, maybe next time they should consider going out to eat instead.
God I was mad. On the brink of punching them in the face.

when i was 12 i went ot the cinema with a bunch of friends...

we threw sweet wrappers the whole way through at this guys bald head a few rows in front of us....then ducked when he looked round......

he prolly knew it was us, but hey...it provided a few hours of light entertainment for us kids....the film was kak by the way....

 Thought that was a south african term! Oh well, live and learn.

Not too long again, my friend sat in chewing gum. That must have been annoying for him.

I thought it was cack?

Meh, I think the worst thing was when somebody started smoking some Mary Jane in the Cinema. I've probably pissed off a fair few people in the cinema when I was a bit younger though.

When 10-year-olds (or at least, those with a mentality of a 10-year-old) over-react to a "scary" scene in a movie.

When I saw The Matrix in Miami back in '99, the theater had about 20 people in it. Perfect, I thought. About 30 minutes after the movie started, a couple of kids sat down two rows behind us.

Every time a fast-moving or action-packed scene fashed on the screen, two girls were screaming "EEEEEEAAAAK!" and crap. This continued until the last 15 minutes of the movie, when they were finally somewhat quiet. Point is, if you're not mature enough to handle violence and vulgar language, you shouldn't go to a an R-rated movie that's intended for a mature audience.

The other problem is cell phones. The latest trend is to ignore them ringing. Which is only halfway-polite when the ring is increasing in volume, persists for 60 seconds, and belts out some hideous melody. Your phone has a SILENT MODE, please learn how to use it, damn it.

I'd had it with movies at that point. I go to matinees only since then, and even then I'll only see 2-3 movies in the theater per year. With a DVD rental costing only $4 for an unlimited number of people, I can usually wait 4-6 months for it to arrive for home use.

That said, the Star Wars junkies are wierd, but at least they keep their mouths shut and cell phones off.

Paying $10.25 for a ticket that used to cost $5.25 only a few years ago sucks, but not as much as paying even more than that for snacks.

I'm not sure I've ever been in a movie where a cell phone went off. Maaaybe once... not sure. That doesn't seem to be much of a problem for me.

One huge problem is laser pointers.

I haven't been to a movie where a phone didn't ring in years. It is annoying because it's not just a bell sound, but some stupid diddy which distracts and shatters your attention.

I don't think I've ever seen laser pointers, but I can see why that would be annoying. If they allowed smoking in theatres you could find them easily.

Milefile: 👍 :D

not so much annoying as being embarassed:
Went to see one of the Superman movies, 3 I think, with my mother (I was about 10 at the time, not to sure was ages ago) sitting there watching it while my mother is in hysterics with all the unbelievable stuff going on on the screen
I turn around and EVERY ONE else in the theater is looking at us, I felt about an inch tall
I turned back to face the screen and shrunk down in my seat, hoping to become invisible or something
Needless to say, I have never been to the cinema with my mother again

what pisses me off most in a movie theatre is when all the good seats are taken, and i have to sit up from where i have to keep my head up. i had to do that when watching matrix revolutions and that final fight scene between smith and neo was making my head hurt and making me dizzy... that was like the best part in the whole movie tooo..

These seats are taken...These seats are taken...These seats are taken...finally, my buddies and I said, "They're not here, the movies starting, tough crap!"

Yeah, they were quite angry until 10 miutes into the movie, and people next to them told them to shut up.

I really hate it when someone says "Let's go to this great cinema", and the sound quality is worse than that in my living room.
Uhh.. with those b&w speakers... i think ur better off staying home.. or you can send them to me and go to the cinema ;)

Btw.. i hate those damn ppl that are loud as hell.. they are mostly in large groups 8+ and they all talk when im trying to watch the ring.. but then i think i beat them screaming when that girl came out the tv

I hate the adverts before the film starts. If I wanted to watch adverts, I'd stay at home and watch QVC.

The best time to watch a movie is about 6 weeks after it opens. I did that with the Matrix Reloaded and there was 3 people there, including me.

mine is something similar i hate it when people like your mom laugh way too loud and way too hard at all the stupid jokes

I hate it it when you're there with your dad and he makes a joke during the movie, and people throw popcorn at you. This is from experience, by the way.

...being there with a mate, who sits rught next to you and takes the whole of the centre armrest

People who hog the arm-rests.

Whats their case? If it is a guy, I usually just elbow him back, if it is a girl I call her a slag and slap her. OK, not really, then i just cuss at her under my breath and complain in forums about it.

Bring some vasoline and some paper towels. Spread the vasoline on the arm rest of the seat next to you, and the people will get up and move. Then, whipe it clean after they leave. I tried it a few times, and it worked.

If the movie is boring, you can use the vasoline for something else.

:D

My single best movie excperience was when I was all alone in a 200 seat saloon. I saw "The 13th floor" on it's last week like 3 pm on a tuesday, perfect timing.

I sat in the middle, at first it felt awkward but then it was just great! When the janitor did the "saloon-check" I asked him to turn down the volume a bit. Almost like home.

Oh, And it annoys me when I can't get enough room for my long legs.
