Sorry, I misunderstood ya there.

I can't turn off DRC, but I can use the PIP to show how well it works. The left side picture has the DRC, and the right side doesn't. I can make my PIP pictures both the exact same size for a side by side comparison.

I am doing it right now., and there is a noticeable difference. My text on the left side has a darker black and is sharper in image. The right side text looks more gray and fuzzy, not as sharp. The colors of the Smiles are richer and warmer in color with much better definition to them. From some strange reason the white background to the text looks like it has more of a pinkness hue to it compared to the right. The yellow border around the text is much more intense compared to the right side.

I just got done trying it with anolog TV stations and wow what a difference. The images on the left were more intense with color and the sharpness was much greater on the left. You can really see the fine lines of human hair and the general fuzzyness of non DRC images is eliminated.

I just tried it with my regular vcr which is an $80 Sony and I can't begin to tell you how horrible the right side is compared to the left. I'll just say THANK GOD FOR DRC! It was really bad. :D

I think the best thing to do is just invite you over so you can see for yourself. If you are ever going to be in the greater LA area of California, look me up.:)

Oh, i know what it can do. I watched a 30 year old kung fu movie on Casette and it looked like a dvd.

That just doesnt mean its good of all aplications

Why would Sony call their line doubler DRC? That's a little confusing, since DRC = Dynamic Range Compression, which is also a common feature on TV's.

I have an LG 66cm Widescreen TV for my PS2 desires. It's a very good quality TV. Got it for a bargain so it's even better!

Sorry had to say, for the love of pete, Pick Up Your Socks... Sheesh...

I don't know what a Telavasion is, but a television is something that can play GT3.

I use a 27" RCA, about 10 years old. The sound runs direct from the PS2 to an old Concord amplifier, which goes on to 2 3 way speakers w/ 12 inch woofers. It sounds nice, but I can't play it when people are trying to sleep in my house.

EDIT: It's a 29-incher, not 27.

The TV in my room is a 28" Sony Flatron, not bad for GT3 but I prefer to play on a small screen for the resolution. Most of my mates play GT3 on my 7.5" TV in my car. Its really good quality for the size of the screen but I have to admit it does distract me when there playing.

15" flatscreen in my room (My PC monitor)
13" In my parents room
27" In the family room
36" In the basement (with my PS2)
9" TV/DVD player combo either by the Bowflex, in my brother's room, or in our van.

All Sonys: 2 "27 and one "46. I'd like to play on the "46 one for once, but my grandfather always watches that TV EVERY MINUTE...
