What version of GT5 are you getting?

When I get the chance to go to Gamestop(as I'm in the US) I'll pre-order the Collector's Edition. Not because that Gamestop doesn't have the Signature one, only because that It's all I need. A good scaled model car, an Apex book, the game, and much more is all I need. Besides, I am way too young to participate in the SLS AMG contest.

Well...I was only going to get the EU Collectors Edition until my mate told me I could have his GT-R model. So, I figured that I'd get the Signature Edition to pair it up with the SLS AMG and get all 11 cars in one go as that's all I'm really bothered about. I don't typically collect gaming memorabilia, and if I kept every wallet, key ring, or USB stick I had been given in my life, I'd need to dedicate a full man-drawer just to them!

Besides, when all is said and done, only one thing really matters...the game itself.

Getting the standard edition. I have spent enough money this year on games. I bought the collectors for Forza 3 and Alan Wake. That is enough collectors editions for awhile now.

I pre-ordered from Game and have had 2 emails this week, one saying the release date had slipped to the 3rd as announced at GC followed by another claiming it has slipped to the 5th.

I can't find any info anywhere to suggest the UK date has slipped to the 5th so I can't work out what is going on over at Game

I must admit, I caved and pre-ordered the CE after the latest batch of screenshots! Of course the game itself is the most important thing, but I'm also interested in the book that comes with the CE.

the SE and CE are not convincing enough for me... i mean yeah they are nice... but, there is going to be too many of you buying them, it's not gonna make it so exclusive anymore, nor drive the price up, even after decades... especially if you open the box etc... I wish there could be an edition so exclusive only a 100 or less copies are available, those would be fun to have... ( am not saying i would get them either but am sure some will/would )

As for the bonus cars (depending on where you buy the game)... i will not give in/cave in... there are already 1000+ cars in the game... enough for me to play with...
and i will download them later DLC

and start pounding on the game at home no waiting, no delay despite the pre-orders you guys deposited for

I know what you mean. I'll be at University when GT5 is released.

This means, I need a TV and PS3 aswell as GT5.

I want a DFGT or G25/27 aswell.

So the simple fact is, I can't afford the Signature edition. But I really want that Apex book :/ I might front the extra £20-30 for the CE over the standard, just to get that and the chromeline cars, but i'm not sure it's worth it.

Haven't actually pre-ordered it yet, but it would not surprise me if the release date in the UK ends up being Friday 5th November.

No, the only joke is getting all worked up over what other people do with their money and GT5 pre-orders. What makes it even funnier is the fact that you think everybody paid a deposit...I've never paid a deposit on a pre-order in my life. Don't worry, plenty of people will be playing the game one or two days before you without even setting foot out of the house or paying any deposit.

I pre order the SE in GAMESTOP for 100 bucks, I pre paid already for it. I will be able to pick it up on midnight before you do. I will have a faster walk in and out of the store, and its 100% guarantee it wont be sold out on me.. no delays, already paid for.. so in your face

If people pre order or not, and there is a DELAY for the store, it means ALL copies, not just guys for PRE ORDER.

Its better to reorder, huge games get sold out quick.

I did not pre order Uncharted 2, and had to wait by end of the week to get the copy!

We don't get GT Academy, we can't (within the U.S.) buy the Sig. Edition with all the Stealth Cars...*sigh* Yes I know I can buy it overseas, but when I give my address (or look up my IP) for trying to compete in the GT Academy, I'd get DQ'd for sure. I've changed my mind loads over the past couple of weeks, going back and forth over SE vs CE!!! I am now in partnership with a couple of mates who are buying GT5 and all three of us will buy one CE for ourselves, and two copies of the standard edition from one of the retailers doing the stealth promotions. We'll simply swap stealth codes and send the standard games back under distance selling rules.

You think "collection is better"? What? Oh, you mean "Collectors Edition"...OK, so how can the CE just be "better" than the SE, when the SE has all 11 DLC cars, an extra book, wallet, competition card, keyring, USB stick, and of course the model car? As a package, SE is far better.

If you mean the CE is "better value for money", I would agree, but maybe he wants the SE because it's a special release and he wants some/all of the extras on offer? What's so hard to comprehend about that?

After much thought, I've decided on the CE as apposed to the SE. Figured i could use the balance of the cash to build a proper cockpit frame.

Wallet - don't carry 1
Usb - already have 1, the video that comes with it would be uploaded to the net.
Keyring - i keep my car keys as light and sparse as possible
1:43 model - i know it'l be detailed but abit too small IMO
Competition card - SE edition marketing ploy( like a lottery card really), only if you're in a top 10 online ranking position - then go for it.
Coffee table book - My only item of interest, this will be awesome
Chrome line cars -who would put chrome GT stripes on these cars in real life? Strangely bad taste from PD.
Stealth cars - they look good, not a dealbreaker if i don't get all, but i'll get some via pre-order


Mostly, i'll miss the coffee table book.

If that was the case, then I'd go with collector's..

I was assuming JB-HI-FI will have standard edition for around $90..

Signature is a little too much for me, I was not happy when I worked out that my steering wheel + wheel stand pro will work out to be 5x more expensive than the game that i want to use it all on.

Paying $300 for the game is just out of the question for me now..

I would like the collectors strickly for the 5 tuned cars to start the game of with but not if its going to set me back another $40..

Guess im undecided for now, Im not even sure if im going to bother pre-ordering..
