I bet sometime late afternoon on the 28th we will start getting some of the first "i've got the Japan GT4"" threads. We will see some of the highest member online counts and guest counts. The server will crash due to the major load and everyone will freak out. then frantically press the refresh button millions of times trying to get the boards to show back up. After the 29th people will be too busy reading the whats really in GT4 threads to bother bringing up old threads.

The only problem with constantly refreshing for news after the 28th is that the people that actually have the game will be too busy playing it!

That's the crux of it, you see... when the game is released, I think there will be "dead" periods for at least a few days while everyone plays it. With people just popping in to say how great it is.

As for the old threads.. I wouldn't worry about it. I agree with the Mods decision to lock them once the game is out. Otherwise there would be a whole slew of "I told you so" arguments cropping up.

#1 Senna does indeed (or did) own. I would have loved to see some AS/MS battles in the late 90's and 2000's. Perhaps the Ferrari dominance wouldn't have been what it was.

#2 If people are that petty they want to go dig up old threads and say I told you so I think they should just get banned. Simple as that.

#3 people will probably pop in to ask questions about stuff that is explained in the user's manual, but such is life. I agree with Jedi that the interesting discussions will either take place after the japanese release, or about a week after the U.S. release because we'll all be too content playing to sit down and type on GTP.
