What would constitute Spec 3 ?

PD can finish GT5 by bringing out GT6 having learnt and listened from the massive reception and ongoing conversations regarding the beautiful but ever so slightly flawed GT5.

Spec 3.0 unlocks:

The ability to test a track before you buy it (online only, and is cumulative up to 2 hours of use (racing and free run), after which, you must buy it to use it thereafter unrestricted)

The ability to test drive any car that is in the dealership as long as it can be purchased in-game, meaning you still can't test drive unpaid DLC cars.

Brake Fade

Realistic Engine Sounds

Realistic Crash Sounds (not that thud against some boards sound we have now)

Enhanced wastegate/supercharger whine for vehicles with forced induction

The ability to use BoBs while in endurance races in A-Spec.

Windscreen Damage when crashing (applies to cars that have them)

And AI that doesn't drive like they're about to get the guillotine if they don't let A-Speccers past. In other words, AI that is actually Intelligent. Make passes when they see an opening, hold back enough to avoid hitting the player in the tailbone, and attempt a few shots at pit strategy, and sometimes spinout in a heated battle with other AI and even the player.

Wind becomes a factor in sideforce. A wind speed monitor will be displayed under the track's water surface monitor, but in a red background. This can be set to MPH, m/s, or Knots. It can also be turned off in the pause menu as well as the options menu.

Display can be prohibited in the online menu for all drivers in {ROOM SETTINGS} if you're going for more realism, but I doubt this will ever make its way into any racing game.

The Chapparal 2J will be banned from PP-restricted time trials for 600 PP and under, due to the fact that it is used excessively and can get into almost any PP range.

In {room settings} it will also be possible to allow cars to enter based on nationality. And it will also be possible to set ranges for Performance Points, Horsepower, and Weight.

How would I finish GT5? Hmm.

Put it in its box and shelf it like I did months ago.

There it's finished.

Oh, it's disguised?

Masterfully, I thought we were talking about bacon, didn't even realize it was a wish list at all. Some people disguise things so well...tricky, tricky, tricky, tricky....

still waiting for spec3, hope to see it yet this year.

some standard-cars upgrades to premium would be nice i think

8 Datsuns with super awesome go-faster gta stickers on them is probably the closest thing to 'spec 3' we're going to get now I fear. :grumpy:

If Spec 3 does turn up who wants to bet it coincidentally arives around the same time as another game appears on the horizon?

o_0 horizon you say?

Spec 3. Change the racing exhaust to a more meaty sound when applicable (bass boost). More muscle cars. The ability to create hill climbs. And Add the Goodwood hill climb. And silverstone.

I'm hoping for drag slicks, tire width adjustments, tire size adjustments, tire pressure adjustments, that's all i want. i don't care about more cars or more tracks it stil be nice but for now that's all i want.

I would love improved sounds, for example:

  • When your car is fully stripped, and when your driving, sand and stones bouncing off the underneath of your car.
  • Better exhaust sounds... I wanna feel that Im bouncing off the rev limiter.
  • Just basically, put more life into GT5 sounds.

A drag track, gt4's tracks, the same physics between online and arcade mode, a little more sound volume at the turbo (my bad English :drool: ), a little exhast popping at aftermarket exhausts, convertion of some cars from standart to premium and finally some more premium road cars of 2011 and 2012...the perfect car game :D i skipped painting the cars at our own to paint them as we want for gt6! But most importantly sound improving as iNs3CuRe said!

They need to add more to the single player GT Life career mode.

New tracks and cars are great, but I want to be able to further my XP level to 80 and I want them to up cr. limit to 40 or 60 or even 80 million cr.

I want a large amount of race series that use standing starts with adjustable AI from arcade mode but further improved AI.

I don't just want insane 9 hour endurance or tiny 3 lap ''Championships''.. I want a lot more 30 to 50 lap races with 15 AI that require pit stops and tire and fuel management.

I want 15 real AI, not 14 rolling roadblocks and 1 rabbit AI thats 5 seconds/ lap faster than other AI.

The career mode is what is unique to GT5, not multiplayer. In fact GT5 doesn't even do multiplayer that well, there are much better PC sims for that.

Online events like in GT5p are sadly no more, but that's another thing that is very ''GT'' that was fun, but PD and Kaz abandon for some reason.

I'm not holding my breath for GT6, and I'm not even sure it'll be something I play if they keep taking all of the ''GT-ness'' out of Gran Turismo. I want the license tests to mean something, for instance.

My guess is that Spec 3.0 would include...

2012 NASCAR: The 2011 NASCAR stock cars were included in Spec 2.0.

New DLC: At the same time Spec 2.0 came out, DLC was released and put for sale on the PSN Store.

YouTube Video Uploading: Promised during GT5's development, I think that this would be a feature included in a Spec 3.0 update. This allows players to upload replays to YouTube (obviously) straight from the game.

Qualifying: A feature that hasn't been seen since GT4 (championships in GT4 allowed qualification by entering "practice" mode), this sounds like a very likely inclusion if a Spec 3.0 were to come out.

Nissan Deltawing: Run during the 2012 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Nissan Deltawing was a racing prototype made to improve aerodynamics and make the car go faster on straights and corner faster. Unfortunately, about 9 hours into the race, the Deltawing was involved in a crash with a Toyota LMP, knocking the Deltawing out of the race.

There would certainly be more features, but these are what I believe are the most likely to appear in a Spec 3.0 update.

They said that the Youtube upload and encoding ''took too long'' so they scrapped it.

If a few Nacars and other cars and a DLC track are ''spec 3'', that's going to be weak.

Indeed, an upgrade for the track-editor would be nice.

Good point about the new NASCARs being added.........(though I don't think a "spec 3" is ever going to happen anyway)

Though the 2012 NASCARs are nearly identical to 2011. But "they" showed the 2013 NASCARs recently, and WOW, they look really kool. I'd LOVE for those to get added instead of the 2012 cars.

Here's a small image of the 2013 Ford.

Spec III wishlist :

- Possibility to create championship races on career mode, choosing AI's cars, laps, include qualifying and grid starts with or without mechanical damages. And prizes depending on driven mileage / finish position, with difficulty settings.

- Paint Shop

- More Rims for all cars

- More replay options (more accurate forward/rewind option atleast)

- Possibility to have more than 1 car in photomode at once

- Windscreen wipers working for standard cars

- Driving lights useable for standard cars

- Point to Point tracks possible with track creator

- More and more premium cars (I really dont care even there is standard cars because I am a car freak overall and have no problems with those)

- Drag race option for 16 cars Online and Offline

Livery editor with cautious, we dont want to see ***** pictures on a Ferraris or any other cool car we have

- Possibility to run a race against your own B spec drivers (to see how these handle themselves against a human opponent)

Thats pretty much it.

Awesome list. That's exactly what i want too!

More wheels would be nice too, and maybe with different sizes :).

I'm not very confident there will be a spec 3 update but if it does happen it'll probably have:
-update to track generator;
-maybe an event creator;
-update to the game's physics;
-tweaks to AI behavior;
-tweaks to engine sounds (I don't believe they will use brand new samples)

As for cars and tracks: no free tracks (they will save it for DLC); maybe a new free car or two like the GT-R Kaz used in this year's Nurb 24h. Cars like Delta Wing or Signatech Nissan will come as DLC and not in Spec 3 (if they ever arrive to GT5).
It would be a less dramatic update than Spec 2.0
