What would constitute Spec 3 ?

I think it will be released the Spc3 on Summer or on Autumn.
I would like the see in the Spec3:
-20 standard cars to premium.
-5 new premium cars.
-1 new track
-More A-spec events or event creator
-Wheather and day/night in every track
-Better engine sound.

Think realistically. All of what you said, with an exception of the last one, is just DLC.

1. As many say a lot better sound.
2. better speedfeeling so it feels like you actually drive fast.
3. better tuningoptions so it is easier to tune the car i'd be very happy. And when we are on the tunetopic, if they did a good tune for each car from start just that would be enough.

Hopefully
1. Livery editor
2. A proper wheel shop like in the old gt games.
3. Solve the online black screen of death issue.
4. Improve sounds.
5. Sort the tyre wear issue.
6. Classic track pack, ie Seattle, Apricot hill ect.

  • Update a large number of standard cars to premium
  • Add a few more tuning options
  • At least one more photomode location
  • Update or add some tracks

This is starting to sound like another wishlist.

Remember GT5:P was released up to spec III
so if the current GT5 will be up to spec III only, as an addition to all above suggestion, it will be EVENT GENERATOR.

Just because gt5p went to spec3 doesnt mean gt5 will.

Im keeping my hopes contained until we know more.

A proper online auction house/market for trading cars with that works.

Hell, Test Drive Unlimited 1 had a decent system, it can't be that hard to code.

Brake upgrades...

Fix suspected tuning issues (ie. backwards suspension etc)

But otherwise I'm happy. :)

👍

Would like to add that online & offline tunes should be the same :)

finally people are demanding for A-spec races its about time i hop PD listen please the game career is too short
Agreed, to hit LVL40 by doing Seasonals because you are too time poor to do 24hr races is bad, even with the save ability :(

^ yes, and make the cars with titanium exhausts have better, more individual sounds.
YES!

To try and make gamers, virtuals racers, or any human being sit there and race on a track for 24 HOURS at once is absolutely deplorable. Even with the save ability.

Fixed.

"time poor" oh my gawd. :ouch:

.

For me Spec 3 should include;

At least 50 new premium cars, which should NOT be standard cars upgraded to premium. I could list 50 cars I'd like to see inducted but that would take a while to type out.

A few new tracks or some old variations of tracks such as the old Hockenheimring layout.

As people have mentioned, improved damage and sound.

Occasional tyre blowouts in endurance races (such as if the driver skids off the track quite a lot).

An extra series of races in A spec and B spec.

The ability to FULLY create your own track instead of modifying one the game has made up.

All the missing tracks, or, at least those that do not require licenses.
Or, at least Seattle, Midfield and Apricot Hill.

A vastly improved course maker.

Online time trial boards, or at least "compare with friends" or similar, and sharing of replays.

Ability to ride in-car/onboard when spectating an online race.

Physics improvements. I want softer sprung cars to pitch and roll more, more realistically.

Fix suspension on Mclaren f1 road car.

Smoke volume/generation fixes. No more smoke-behind-car jaggedy lines.

I've seen nothing yet, definitively, that either confirms nor denies the possibility of a spec 3. I do imagine, though, that if we do get a spec 3, it will be the last significant update to the game. So what do you guys think, realistically, could be achieved in a spec 3 update?

I do not play online so I cannot really comment on that aspect, so my thoughts are primarily for the single-player game. I'm tempering my ideas, more or less in line with the spec 2 update. Basically no huge, drastic changes. It's pretty much futile to hope for things like improved rain effect resolution or reduction of shadow jaggies, because they would have done that by now if it was possible. To be honest, at this point I'm really hoping for additional content rather than fixes.

So, here is my somewhat comprehensive list of things that could be changed, in my opinion at least:

Game Engine
-Updated tire model
-Revised audio samples and mixing (best we can really hope for)
-Update to the track creator. I have no idea how to improve it, but it needs improvement. I like the concept, but it's bloody boring.

Graphics Engine [not much room for improvement on current hardware here, it's pretty much maxed out the PS3]
-Improved wet-track surface shader (SSR7 quality, if possible)

Additional Content
-Larger selection of custom wheels (OEM wheels from all cars interchangable??)
-10-20 Car DLC pack. Probably a bit optimistic, and I won't attempt to name any cars because PD has eclectic taste. Figure at least one GT-R though. One car I would really like to see, and something that should happen because of PD and Nissan's relationship is the Delta-Wing.
-Assortment of GT4-era tracks. I think they would look just fine in GT5's engine, and they would be nothing to implement. It would also add much needed variety to GT5's track list.
-Offline event creator (pick track, opponents, weather, time etc)
-Additional photo-mode locations
-More driver outfits, including vintage racing overalls and helmets.
-Revised home screen. GT5's home screen has always been a little boring to me. I miss the 'city' feel of the previous games.

I, unlike most here, actually enjoy the fact that PD does their own thing quite often, instead of purely doing what the community requests. Creative people shouldn't operate purely to their clients desires...otherwise what's the point of being creative? So I like PD's oddball features like the driver suits and museum cards. I just hope they never lose that creativity and individualism, even if it means falling from the top spot against Forza. I have both games, but Forza just feels so committee driven and sterile, despite how good it is.

Whatever the case, I hope GT5 has one, and only one, more update for us before they concentrate on GT6. I'm hoping GT5 is to GT6 what GT3 was to GT4.

If this has overlap with existing threads, I apologize. I tried searching and couldn't find anything conclusive.

For me, it would be easy. I think very little has to be done to make the game perfect.

1. Add a new a-spec section that integrates the new DLC tracks, if you don't own all the DLC tracks, it's locked out.

2. For standard cars, integrate the car's body into the simplified cockpit view. I think doing just that would make that simplified view FAR more acceptable and really polish off the game.

2.a. Also for standard cars, open up all the premium wheels to put on the standard cars, not just that small selection available, and also allow the majority of the cars on which rims still can't be changed...to be changed like the Veyron, Diablo and so on. I understand why SOME can't be changed, but for most of them, it should be allowed.

2.b. Maybe allow painting of race cars.

3. A course creator update that actually gives you a bit more control of your track. Like being able to "freeze" segments when you like them so they won't change when you change another section. Elevation/terain control for each section would be great as well.

I really think that's all GT5 needs to be a perfect game (not counting the lack of tracks compared to GT4 and GT-PSP).

One huge feature I still miss : a 360° rotating camera for the chase cam. Because there are Premium Models, but while I race them I can just see them from the back and front. And not in all their beauty... This feature is a standart feature in every racing game nowadays. So why not in GT5?! Would love to see the suspension work the wheels spin etc...

Other than that I guess Spec 3 wouldn't bring much changes. They are most likely done with GT5 and start something new. Maybe they could bring more content to make the game last longer. Or put still some new features as you mentioned tire wear or sound mixing. But that's it I guess.

I miss the zoom feature :(. I think that the spec III would have, more japanese cars, and hopefully FREE tracks.

Great thread.

I would like to see
*an event creator much like researchALLwars linked
*360° chase cam
*In online option to check out a box that says ''No tuning parts installed'' rather than the checkered box we got now that says almost the same but here you cant even tune the car.. I woul like to take my SuperGT car to the track with no ekstra parts bought to it, just-straight-pure-out-the-store-like-it-should-be but I would like to tune it myself.... and racing against other SuperGT cars who aint got a Turbo Stage III to it...
*More tracks and more cars, maybe a pack of 20 new tracks and 20 new cars (yeah right..)

Physic:
-a little less grip on racing tires;
-brakes update in tuning options, brakes overheat indicator on the HUD;
-side steps on departures (where there is in reality);
-acquaplanning;
-improved car's damage, detachment of aerodynamic parts that affect performance;
-gear scratch;
-improved engine brake;
-improved performance of rally cars (they are real only if upgraded to the max)

Graphics:
-translucent tarmac when it rains;
-rain on all tracks (also for rally track would be nice);
-rain over cars;
-skidmarks on grass and sand;
-textures and illumination revision of old tracks from previous gt;
-improved, increased and adjustable cockpit motion, for gear shift, suspensions, acceleration and braking;
-adjustable racing seat;
-Hood view;
-standard to premium...

Force feedback
-more strenght;
-vibration when wheels slip in acceleration and for tires locked under braking (actually totally absent).

Content:
-More wheels rims;
-RM for all cars;
-More european cars, porsche, ecc...
-Super 2000 rally cars;
-Le Mans prototypes;
-Old and new DTM cars;
-Tracks from previous GT;
-Pikes peak and rally prototypes for Pikes Peak;
-Improved track editor, making tracks from point to point.

Online
-ability to make a championship online;
-Rally online mode, tracks from point to point, staggered departures;
-online drift mode with score, sector mode and full track mode;
-improved netcode on public lobby;
-Penalty flags mode, with stop and go.

Menu
-menu restyling;
-fixed laggy imputs and loading times;
-more content on used cars dealership and online cars dealership;
-new photo locations.

Events
-Event editor;
-Competitive I.A;
-new "C-spec" events, for pro drivers, practice-qualify and run, whit damage, tyre wear, penalty flags and stop and go.

That's all :sly:

GT5 will always be an incomplete game. Theres just so much that needs to be done.

Physics
-increase the drag for each "point" of downforce
-increase tire life of all tires to 150% their current life
-huge increase on fuel consumption. (around 1 liter consumed every minute for a 175HP car. This would be 15 or so liters consumed on a 700HP car every lap around Sarthe)

Other
-let tires affect PP rating when fuel/tire wear is off
-allow rolling starts online on every track
-the pit crew no longer fuels the car while the tires are being changed. (That means that the free 12 liters each pit stop is gone)
-downforce has a slightly decreased effect on PP rating
-add 50 PP to the Chapparal (sp?) 2J
-"Production/street legal cars only" option online.
-Toyota GT-One, Nissan R92CP, Nissan R89, Audi R8 Race Car, and Bentley Speed 8 get the exhaust notes from the Nissan R390.
-Sauber C9, Mercedes CLK-LM, Corvette Z06 RM, and Corvette C5-R get the exhaust notes from the Corvette ZR1 RM.
-Pescarolo 2003, Pescarolo 2004, and Peugeot 905 get the exhaust note from the Lamborghini Gallardo.
-Saleen S7 and Lexus IS-F Concept get their old, original exhaust notes.
-Spa Day/Night/Weather Change added

Spec III: Done.

How can you say this VVV

I, unlike most here, actually enjoy the fact that PD does their own thing quite often, instead of purely doing what the community requests. Creative people shouldn't operate purely to their clients desires...otherwise what's the point of being creative? So I like PD's oddball features like the driver suits and museum cards. I just hope they never lose that creativity and individualism, even if it means falling from the top spot against Forza. I have both games, but Forza just feels so committee driven and sterile, despite how good it is.

And say this. VVVV Which is basically a list of things the community has been asking for since the dawn of time.

Since you are a community member and you are suggesting things PD should do... yet you say PD should not be heavily influence by the community.

Honestly, this is so backwards it is not even funny. Let Gran Turismo slip further and further away from other titles, sounds like a great idea :rolleyes:. Lets not even talk about other titles features or gameplay, lets just look at public opinion. Talk to your friends, talk to their friends, look online. GT used to be the vanguard of not only "sim racing" on the console but just "racing in general". Not anymore. But if GT sticks to their guns, everything is good? Maybe in your opinion.

Honestly, how creative is not including something as basic as break upgrades? Look at the "track list that should have been thread". These are glaring flaws, and we as the game's community have a duty to point them out.
