Off that list it would be the Renault 5... but that car won't be cheap in the game... So I expect that I will start with an old 2nd hand Skyline like I did in GT1 & 2... In GT3 I started with the Yaris/Vitz thing...

The Mini all the way! But why did you put (non-turbo) there are no turbo mini's, unless they were modified by the owner. There are supercharged mini's, did you mean that?

Hopefully I won't have to choose any of those off the list. 👍 I'd prefer some other choices, but I'll probably use whatever car is won by obtaining all gold in the first license or two (assuming they do all that like before).

You didnt have the car i am getting for my dirst car in there! I am getting my first set of wheels within the next 6 months and i am getting an AUTO SKYLINE GTS-T.. its my first car, i dont want to be TOOOOO powerful.. But i hope this one has some OOMMPPHH!! 👍

GT1: civic sir II
GT2: fc rx7 efini
GT3: ae86 trueno

....
gt4: hoping the '94 180sx will be cheap enough (KY did say all cars from previous gts will be in), if not mr2

cant wait for the nismo 270R and (kids' heart) sileighty :)

The old (classic) mini's 1.3 engine that was also in a lot of Metros could very easily have a turbo strapped to the top of it... (In fact owners of 1.3 metros make more money by selling their engine to a mini enthusiast rather than selling the whole car to a normal person!)

And in fact in GT2 could you not but a turbo on the Mini? I seem to remember doing it and it being quite fast (in comparison!)

Maybe he meant the Supercharged cooper S. Maybe.

When I was at school I always used to see this Turbocharged mini fly past me as I was walking up the road. It even had a bov.

Anyway, the first car i'd like to get would be the MKI MR-2. Although I just want the standard version, not the supercharged one in the list it was a Japan only model damnit! :grumpy:

Hmm.

I'd take the R5 Turbo it's a classic, it's quick and it looks good too.

yep :)

Looks sweet and it is a notorious little car. Its a compact so the handling (probably) won"t suck either.

Yes, your right, I was reffering to the Cooper S. I realized earlier that the Mini Cooper S's are in fact, NOT turbocharged, but supercharged. So the one on the list IS the NEW Mini, but the regular Cooper sporting only 115hp. Or, whatever it really is, but that's close enough.

I've got a unique system for figuring out which car to get first. I'm going to write a script that searches out every "What will your first car be?" thread, collates the results, and then run with the car that got the least votes/mentions.

Granted it may take longer to run the script than to finish the game.

Levin/Trueno. (Assuming its possible yeah) Why? Well, ive done it in GT1, GT2, and GT3 and, its been working out so far. :)

That's piss simple, the MR2.

Then possible the MX-5.

I don't know why you'd choose a AE86, they're not that good unless highly modded, yeeewww, enjoy your live rear axle.

Hehe well, the Trueno/Levin has been working just fine for many of us. Ive finished 1,2 and 3 atleast twice and always started with the same lil car. Might not be the most effective but... Its just "the way it is" for me atleast.
Different strokes for....

Heh I had lots of fun trying to get the normal Trueno's handling ballanced. I got to a point where I was able to race it in the Amateur FR cup with just the NA tune, the MX-5 handles tuning allot better and isn't too dificult to set up. The Trueno always has oversteer on tap though, but I love driving it stock with the immense amount of body roll.

Of course, no one, with the exception of PD could possibly know which cars are available to buy at first - so i'm going to stick my neck out and say the Ferrari 333SP will be my first car.

"What would you pick for your first set of wheels? "

Could someone explain me what does that question actually mean? I didn't understand.

But I voted Renault R5 Turbo, mid-engine + turbo + RWD + lightweight = 👍 👍

I'll pick up a R5. After all, my father used to have one. Didn't last long though : rust killed it.

R5 turbo for me too; I used to have one, rust did not kill mine however. I very nearly did (wet roundabout and a short wheelbase car with too much lift off).

Had to sell it when Scaff jnr number two came along. Still want another one to this day.

GT & GT2 - Prelude
GT3 - AE86

I'll probably pick up the MR2 as my first purchased car in the game. An MA70 Supra in GT1, an '82 Starlet in GT2, and Trueno in GT3 means I've gotta keep up the Toyota tradition. I'm more interested in figuring out what gold licenses will provide, as GT3 had the most disappointing prizes of the series.

I picked the AE86 Levin but I actully intend to pick the most rusty and boring looking plus 100 hp car i can find. I don't want to go with something everyone else is picking this time. But there should be some good choices.
