What would your first set of wheel be?

I would figure they would have the old MR2 AW11 at around the price of the 86, maybe a bit more. The NA MR2 should be in the price range as a first car, the supercharger I'm not so sure about.
 
Looks like most people favor either the AE86 pair, the Renault or the MR2 SC. I'm still confused to why some people would say the R5 might be out of price range...
The Mini might be a tad expensive too, considering a base Cooper retails around the 16-17K range. Not to mention used cars are back, so some of the new models on there will probably be too pricey to choose. I remember back in GT2 when the AE86 models went for like, 3 grand. That was bliss. :D

Well, I guess it all depends whether we're talking about the regular FWD 5 GT Turbos, or if we're talking about the limited production, mid-engined, RWD, rally-inspired monster Turbo II...

I've assumed you meant the RWD one, since it's the only one I've seen screenshots of, and it just strikes me as being a little extreme for a first car - who wouldn't take it if it's available in the beginning price range, as it would compete with very powerful, higher-end cars...

SUN International in the US currently has an 85 Turbo II for sale for $26,000 USD. Admitedly, it's somewhat marked up to cover federalization costs, but even still we're talking about a limited production rally homologation special...

Volvo 245 Turbo.


Aprox. 160 horsepower and 190lb./ft stock in a wagon body with RWD will make me DRIFT KING!!!
 
The car i'd pick isnt on the list, sorry.. but i think i'd have to go with a miata. It was my first car in gt3 and it served me oh so well. i still have it... it is a black one. :) later-

Ugh... I remember taking the Fiat 500 as my first car in GT2 just because it was the only European car under $10,000 and I didn't want a Japanese car... took me forever to save up enough money for even the cheapest upgrades... -.-

Still love the car, though... :D
 
I would take the MR2... it was my starter in GT2 and I love the boxiness =). IMHO, the SHO is in this game for pity/homour value. At least the crappy American sedan segment (who the hell...) is well augmented!

lol it's okay, some people in the US don't know what the difference is. Just like the Mazda 6 is called the Atenza in Japan. Different names, same car.

Supercharged MK1 MR-2.

Surprisingly quick in stock form - good hp to weight ratio right off the bat - well designed MR platform - due to the motor being force inducted, upgrades should have a better overall hp/tq increase than the N/A cars - best bang for your buck potential.

I would go with the Toyota MR2 just simply because I find that a better looking than the others to stare at for many races until I get my main ride! :O
 
Good to see MR2 fans here. Its a pretty car.... I stare at mine all the time... ~runs out to garage~ yup, sure is pretty...

Though I will take the NA over the Supercharged, just because its more like the one I own... in a sense anyhow... though even the supercharged has less power than the 20 valve... <_<

I'm surprised a VW Rabbit isn't on there.. those things are popular autocross cars...
 
Well, the Stratos is an awesome awesome car, but I doubt it will be available to buy with the $15,000 or whatever they start you with...
 
I'd begin life with a Volvo 240 GLT Estate, tune it moderately but not extremely. Instead, I would work up some savings and buy an FC3S Savanna RX-7 and tune the snot out of it. Who knows, if engine swaps are a reality, a 3-rotor might be in store for that little monster.

After working up more dough, my ultimate would be a metallic black Ruf CTR Yellowbird. The only things I would change are the overall body weight, to get it down to 2200 lbs or so, and newer technology braking components. Then it wouldn't matter who I would be racing (save for a 787B or something), nothing bar an Enzo would be faster than I! Mwahaha.

Engine swaps, that's a big "maybe". I doubt it'll be in there, but if it is, you can bet I'd be stuffing a 3 rotor in there too! :D

The yellowbird is a friggin' beast, when you get it, stay the HELL away from me :lol: Yeah...I'm glad there are many Mister-2 fans here. You don't see many of those anymore.

Is the VW Rabbit in the game? I'm too lazy to check the car list. I made this thread a long while ago (August 2004) so I didn't have the full list of cars. Believe me, if I was to update the poll there would be many cars put in and some cars taken out.

30 seconds after.....the loud **BANG** erupts from the Alto, it's miniscule engine saying "FCUK THIS"
 
Followed by it dropping from its top speed of.... 60 mph :D

I think it is kinda odd the Sho is up there, but it happens I guess ;)

And I just realized.. where is the beloved Vitz!!??? That car is awesome!!
 
I actually can't wait to get my hands on one of the older model SHO's in the game - those 5-speed ones were real sleepers :D
