So?

I hold mine 1 and 11 due to how close my wheel is to me. My elbows would hit the seat when i tried to save the car if it was any lower.

3 and 9 usually, but at certain areas where I have to use the stick on the DFGT (yeah, no G25 for me) like on Eiger Nordwand, I only use my left hand at 12 and use the shifter with my right.

My right hand is on the right side of my controller, you know, near the X button? And my left hand is by my Direction Pad... Oh wait, this is for people WITH Wheels... >.<

How bored must we be doing a thread like this?

Well, there's only so much speculation to go around. It's not like there needs to be 100 threads on what cars and stuff will be in the next update. :D

yea know i never did notice how bad driving 12 (Pimp) was until i let my friend come over and use my G25. god he was trying to drive with one hand at 12 and the other on the shifter the whole time. just gotta say it wasnt pretty. to much over correcting and just bad handling. guess thats why all the great drivers tell you 2 hands on the wheel at all times.

2 and 10 is the natural position on the G25, using the thumb rests. The DFP, the natural position is 3 and 9, as the cross bar is in the middle of the wheel. The G25's cross bar is set a little lower than center. The thumb supports on the DFP are unusable as the wheel is way to small. Great for kids, not adults.

3 and 9, in the respective thumb slots as is deemed appropriate. When the car gets sideways though I have been known to change very quickly before resuming 3 and 9 once going straight again.;)

So im the only one that holds it between my legs HAHA jk i usually hold the wheel all over but thats cause most the time im sideways

3 and 9 for me. I think it's the best way to drive with the dfgt and i also hold my wheel in RL. i can also use very easy the stick shift if i want to, and also able to use the button shift.

9 and 2. My up shifther was broken,(shift down on wheel and up on stick) I fixed the problem but gett so used to drive like that:lol: I use DFP

I try as much as possible to do 3 and 9, which (according my my racing books), is the proper position for racing. But the G25 is much more comfortable at 2 and 10, and is obviously designed with 2 & 10 in mind, so I do find myself often falling back to that position.

i drive 3 and 9(mostly).when i'm drifting i use the pimp style,it's so much easyer!(thought im right handed i use the left one when i drift(the shifter is on the right side).
And sometimes i even use my feet when i get bored(i did that when i was making money for the f2007).
oh btw my buddy helped me out with the pedals.(poking a stick at them lol:dopey:)

I voted for 3 and 9 then realised after looking at my wheel that it is actually 2 and 10. Though when I race using the H shifter I drive mostly with one hand. Need to use 2 hands in ferrari challenge though as that game's force feedback is a lot stronger.

the best place to hold the wheel is...... where ever your hands are most comfortable, it really all depends on the steering wheel and driving position.

3 and 9 and I hate having to move them while racing. Paddle shift FTW. I'd love to be able to reduce the 900-degree steering on my DFGT or find a quality wheel with 540 degree steering. The game is about racing cars, not driving a bus.

G25: 2 & 10.

Anybody else worried they're going to wear away the leather on the wheel? :nervous:
Usually 2 & 10, sometimes 3 & 9. I was also worried about the leather on the wheel wearing away :p My hands can get a bit sweaty so i thought perhaps it might ruin the leather but it seems to be fine.

9.15 & 2.45 :)

Me too. I therefore bought a pair of Sabelt gloves. It feels way better! "Dry" grip 👍 and the leather not wearing out.
