Who are you cheering for this year in F1?

Even if you don't like the guy, wouldn't more drivers on front running teams lead to a better championship battle? I feel the same way as you do only with Alonso but I hope he is in top form along with his Ferrari so the title battle will be interesting.

I just plain despise him. Or at least I have since his ego massively expanded. Just because he's in a position to challenge for the championship, doesn't mean we should all want him to do well. Who knows, maybe after a couple of hard years he'll be as grounded and likeable as Jenson is.

Can I ask just one question, I'm curious about something since some of you seems to like Felipe Massa, what do you like in him ? I can understand for alonso/hamilton/vettel/button/schumacher/rosberg/raikkonen even if among them there's driver I really dont like but for Massa I just dont see it. Anyone mind answering to me ?

Because he's a nice guy. He came close to the championship and had a big accident that he came back from. I don't understand why his popularity would be confusing.

I'm kinda rooting for the underdog, if you will.

I'd hardly classify the team who have had the second best car (out of 12)for the last two years now an underdog.

With you. His attitude is quite detestable at times. His complaints during 2009 when he had a rubbish car were just cringe.

Because the car given to him was a car that was developed early on in the season hence the two podiums and then the quick drop off afterwards. I would say this season is the one that he has to go out and prove himself because he actually had some help developing the car and getting to work with it from the very start onward. Point is Renault made a crap car that couldn't be developed on after the first four races and for it they caved.

Let's not forget this is the same car that caught fire twice and had electronic problems as well. If Williams have taken care of the massive problems they had last year with kers and the low small gearbox/rear end, then Senna will have a car that can't be complained about and will be truely judged by fans and other teams as well as his.

But didn't his drive last year warrant that?
He was clearly in the 3rd best car, but his drives were very solid, even managing a win!
He was very consistent, and made the car look quicker then it was. I thought last year, was a year, people would like him more. I know 2010 probably wasn't, but last year?

I hated Jenson in 2009, because he was gifted a car, and i never believed he was a true champion, but in 2011 he showed that he is indeed a true F1 champion.

Like the 70s or 80s with Senna? That's an unfair criticism of Jensen right there. Brawn gave him the best car and he utilized to its full advantage. Just like Schumacher in his Ferrari back in the 2000s.

Räikkönen all the way. Despite some pieces of news I've seen about him having a chance to win already at Catalunya, I unfortunately think he won't win without tougher conditions this season, but will hope for him to come back in his old form and preferably defeat Alonso, just to show the world that you just don't buy your seat from a top team.

I was talking about Lewis. From your paragraph, it seems like you were talking about Alonso. I do actually like Alonso.

On a slight tangent, I'd argue that the Ferrari F310B was better than the Williams FW19 in some respects.

The Ferrari could do well in a bad race, whereas if the Williams was doing badly, it just sank like a stone.

If i could pick 3. I would choose Jenson (We both share a B-day), Fernando Alonso, and anybody but Vettel.

EDIT: I just chose Jenson. Probably the greatest F1 driver right now. (Don't Start me on Vettel)

I am pulling for McLaren as a team, but would love to see Hamilton take the title. Not that I don't also support Jenson, but I do enjoy watching Hamilton drive.
Plus, their car still looks phenomenal, whereas the others... not so much.

I know, sad but true. In my opinion he's the underdog of the 'Top 3 Teams' and I hope he comes out on top, despite his hatred of rain. Sliverstone a couple years back is a good example, although I think Alonso spun a couple times as well that race.

Well mattymc96, my "oh, the irony" comment was directed at Hun200kmph, my long time friend, with whom I had many heated discussions about driving/racing capabilities of Rubens Barrichello and Felipe Massa. Let's just say I wasn't in "PRO RUBINHO/MASSA" camp.

So when he made that tongue-in-cheek reference about my sadness by the fact that Rubinho is gone, I reminded him that there is still Mr. Massa (oh and btw Hun: 2008 season, you say Singapore & Hungary. I say Australia and Malaysia ). That's all.
