I am happy to see my name :)

I am a young driver (I'm 16 since the end of November), I don't have very experience, I play with a wheel since July 2010, I was very bad with the pad.

Ugo_Spolding too is a incredible driver but he don't like TT. Since September or November he plays with one arm and he fight with Ti-Tech in race, and sometimes he win, with very difficulty but he win, or it's with Ti-Tech at the end.

EDIT: Sorry, I don't speek good english.

Whao dude, I cant believe you're 16. You damn fast, imagine your pace in a few years:scared:
Do you own PSN: TC-R_a_c_l??

Yep, that's beyond my comprehension too, even he doesn't use active steering.

I'm 16 since the end of November
Say what? you're an earthquake kid! :scared: you've a brilliant future. 👍
I'm 44 this month, by age I could be your father.

Tony, timeattack etc are fast but not gods. Some french guy I race with are equal or maybe faster. no disrespect here but I trully don't agree that these guys are the fastest. they are very fast, but not the fastest. And please don't begin about DHOLLAND. He is good in timetrail but that's it. raced him many times with equal cars from recommend list and never lost.

I see my own team member TRP_REPLAY as one of the fastest. challenge him with equal cars and see for yourself..

Dont forget its just a game. racing gears such as the pedals makes a huge difference. it will never be fair until you put them all in one room and let them race.

go tell your friends how fast you are in a game...

Edit: wrs leaderboard is for gtplanet only. doesn't mean these guys are the fastest. many fast drivers don't visit gtplanet. being fast in timetrail means nothing. anyone can be fast if they practice for weeks.

NOSSSSS you TANK! ;)

NO!

I beg to differ with you about not getting faster with practice. Although I'm nowhere in the league with the top guys, here's the thing. I have raced NASCAR at Daytona since the start of this game. A few short months ago, I decided to take up road course racing at which time I could even keep the damn car on the track I was so bad. Didn't even drive manual trans. So I practiced, and practiced, and practiced some more. Entered my first TT which was the NASCAR TT at Cape Ring I believe it was. Finished 27th, half a second behind the leader. The current GT-R TT I'm currently 88th. So, yes, practice does pay off. I feel in another 2 or 3 months, I will be up their in the top 10 at least.

Hmm. Have you considered DFGT pedals v Clubsport pedals?
I think you might spot a few differences.

As a Platinum member and a ClubSport Pedal user I say that pedals make very little-to-no difference in GT5.
It all comes down to player.

No hardware in GT5 will make you an alien, players can be alien even with a DFGT clamped on an upside-down skateboard sitting in the lap (Mad94d).

Again people, you're missing the point.
This is not the "Who's really fast" thread, this is who's the fastest thread.

There is a difference between tony1311, timeattack, Aderrrm, lapierre4 and many more and DHolland.
GT5 has a time trial league called WRS as most of you know, now WRS has a system called handicap which is a number which represents a player's skill level.
WRS registry has over 700 members (98% of fast drivers on GTP are in the registry, saidur, PR1VATEJ0KER, RacI are one of few fast people who aren't in the registry) and basically majority of GT5's fast people are in it.

Handicap works like a number, the lower the number - the better the player.

1.000 is theoretical fastest possible time.
Division 1 Gold is everything less than 1.333
Division 1 Silver is everything from 1.666 to 1.334
Division 1 Bronze is everything from 1.999 to 1.667

Tony1311 has 1.789
Aderrrm has 1.281
lapierre4 has 1.488
I have 2.302

DHolland has 0.995 (the only member of GTP WRS registry with an average handicap of bellow par)

Handicap isn't seconds.

I hope this puts things into some perspective.
Link of the registry

I don't mean to be arse, but comparing driver's ability by their handicap rating in WRS means next to nothing. Not only does it most likely draw an inaccurate picture of someones ability at the current moment in time (by averaging in results that might be say 4 years old), but you're also not taking into account so many other important factors, along with the simple fact the WRS community is only compiled (especially nowadays) of a very small percentage of the fastest GT5 drivers of the world. Not only that, but TT'ing in virtual reality (for hours on end, trying to get that last lucky tenth) isn't really a realistic interpretation of any form of real world competition.

Why you mad bro?

Not that I really care where you rate me, but how many times have I ever raced against you in a spec (cars being identical) race again? Just asking because I don't recall it ever happening to begin with

You forgot Timppaq!!! And also some other people with <1 handicaps.

GTP_Timppaq (0.619) GTP_Synwraith (0.871) GTP_aussienicko (0.894) GTP_Zocker_16 (0.926) GTP_Jet (0.927) GTP_Undutchable (0.953) GTP_DHolland (0.979) GTP_CRAZYTORTISE (0.999)

They, as usual for many WRS members, don't race every week. But when D1 gold are in, there is no competition at all

I'm aware of that, that's why I said:
Handicap is just a reference, not a guideline.

I'm talking about cumulative handicap, what you're talking about is qualifying handicap.

.

Innacurate statement. We've raced very few times, I don't have Spa so I can't practice on, and the other races we did at that custom track, we used different cars. And I actually beat you by 4.7 seconds in one of the races, when you were driving the lotus and me NSX, ring in bells? Also quick question, age?

Oh my Dan, I think he just called you a "sub-par" racer

I've seen you on a few leaderboards, you're fast, wouldn't have imagined you're only 16 though

Polyphony are missing out here... Imagine the demand for a livestreamed race of the top drivers :P. Just do heats upto the final :P, or a league based system like SC2 would be pretty nuts :)!

Lol so funny you only remember when you won by luck because I was held up by other racers. Nsx is faster than the lotus and still you lost the races after that. btw when you know that winning isn't possible anymore you will cheat your way by ramming and cutting. I can call atleast 10 guys who witnessed that race after race. Remember BEN-GT-1985?? he was the host when you began to cut and ram to get an unfair win. almost got you kicked.

Tony and timeattack will easily lap you in a 20 lap race. the french guy PHENICKS will win driving backwards with abs off.

I can host a race tonight and invite some fast racers if you want.

I don't know how one can question a person's skill if he made it all the way to Silverstone for the GT Academy finals. That says alot for a person's skill racing under pressure. But hey what do I know.

All I know is people are being called out and I would love to see these races!

Impressive stuff, you make me feel old.

Is Ugo_Spolding arm broken? Amazing he can beat Ti-Tech85 now and again with only one arm.

Well I use DFGT pedals and I don't feel that disadvantaged in GT5, maybe in PC sims there is more of a difference.

Funny that you thought you never lost to Dan but it happens that you did lose but making excuses as to why you lost. Maybe you won only by luck and Dan was held up by other racers. Strange excuse considering it is a race. People don't say Vettel only won by luck because he pulled away at the start now do they.

If you seriously believe the bolded part, then you are very delusional. However I take you meant it as a wind up, otherwise it is a bit worrying.

He won a few times, but in race he can do pressure to Ti-Tech but Ti-Tech is the man to beat, this is a big challenge for us.

I don't have play with Ti-Tech for some time, I thinks the last time was in October, I'm not sure.

He don't have arm broken, he have a problem in her arm but I thinks in January he can play with its two arms.

We always play without ABS in online.

Sorry I don't speek english ^^

Contrary to what some earlier posters have said, in my opinion anyway, it's a straight forward task to find out who is the fastest driver in the GT5 world. We have time trials to establish just that. This is the only way to find out who is the "fastest" driver - over one lap - in GT5.

Had the OP asked who is the most consistently fast driver over a race distance of several laps?, or which driver negotiates the slower traffic best?, or which driver is the best in the rain? then indeed the result could well be different, but that would not be the answer to the question as asked (or at least to the way I interpret the question). The fastest driver does not necessarily always win the race.

Alas, the question is "who is the fastest" and at present the answer must be DHolland (hasn't he topped all of the time trials he has competed in?). If others want to claim to be faster, then they must post a faster time in the TT's.

As I see it, the only variables in this are what hardware people use (wheel, pedals etc), and how much time people can invest in posting their fastest time.

The latter is the biggest variable in my opinion. Im sure Dan Holland spends many hours/days perfecting his laps. Time that many others will not spend.

Now I feel really old.

Shhhhst! how old are you? :D

38 in a couple of weeks - also old enough to be R_a_c_l's dad (and for him to have an older brother or sister )

I agree, but even though DHolland is very fast, top 5 in my book - he's not #1.
In GT Academy 2011 (correct me if I'm wrong) - EDDSKILL topped him in the leaderboard (Dan made an UK account) who both got topped by Ti-tech85 and his brother outburner976, and in DC Challenge again EDDSKILL topped him.
In all GT Academies (all) one man has been dominating - and that's Ti-tech85, and therefore, in many peoples' oppinions he's the fastest TTer on GT5 and possibly the fastest racer (although that's impossible to tell).

I'm setting GTAcademy as an example since it's the highest rated official and most competetive Time Trial Event we have had on Gran Turismo.

I wasn't aware that Dan was on that GTA2011 leaderboard. I'll bow to your better knowledge on that one energizerrr. I agree that ti-tech85 is the fastest in Europe and if he has topped worldwide LBs on several occasions too, then that would settle it for me.

My main point was that time trials, which are open to all countries to compete in, and which supply the same car to all competitors ideally (removes tuners advantage), is the best way to find out who is the fastest.

omg is that Samurai? he's got sick skills.
tryin to keep up with his times in online rooms is how i got most of my speed :) haha

If it's racing we're talking about, Aderrrm definitely, 6 out of 6 wins in the Flyin' Miata Super Cup, and that is full to the brim with top-class drivers.

Or how 'bout that T-L guy :P
1st in David Coulthard Challenge, 1st in GT5 Time Trial Challenge, 1st in others I can't recall, and as far as racing goes, now 7 for 7 in the GTP WRS!

Not saying i'm the best but I will be very soon ;) If they'd ever let Canada into a GT5 competition of any sort (like GT Academy) I will prove it!
