Why is my Friends Gt5 SO SLOW

My friend spends 20 minutes loading up Gt5 Then another 20 Minutes to get in a online game, and thats if he gets online that is its extremely slow! Help?

You pretty much have to if you're playing it online.

Maybe he have a slow connection too?

This is happening to me with Uncharted 3. It takes something like 5 minutes to load in the game. The musical score cut-out and it starts to stutter all over the place.

Has your friends PS3 ever been used to play Uncharted 3?

I'm my case I feel like the HDD just isn't coping with the way ND's streaming technology works but, funnily enough, GT5 and Battlefield 3 work fine (both use the HDD extensively).

It does, whenever I have torrents hogging my bandwidth and I try to play GT5 still connected to the internet it takes several minutes to load because the game trys to connect to all of the online components of the game.

Tell him to disconnect from the internet before loading and see if that helps. If it does, it's his net.

GT5 is partly online based to update with servers,if you have a slow conection or 1 that drops often you will find menu loads very slow.discon nect net and enjoy fast loading.

Actually, installing the game not only increases loading times, but it will also decrease framerate performance:

I think the problem with that though is it puts much more strain on the PS3. I usually don't get too many problems with my loading times so much and I have had the install since day 1...

That's what I would think. Start up GT5 without being logged into PSN.
