My guess is the newly hacked cars will be the next fix in an update. As it is easy to block with a simple check.

PD seems to want to make sure no modded cars are available to players. (beside the new paint options.)

And they just blocked a lot of options for modding. Next update they probably will block the few ones that still remain. I hope they leave the custom paintjobs on unpaintable cars be. But we can't be sure.

ok, But you missed my point, what did the update "fix" if there are still Modded cars online in GT5 lobbies.

Basically the half *** update patched all of the realistically modded cars that didn't bypass the PP system. Then left in all of the cars that were unrealistic and that did bypass the PP system.

If you created a DLC car by doing a body swap, that car was reset thereby requiring an install and preventing illegitimate DLC ownership.

The unfortunate side effect of PD's method was the destruction of all the very cool and competitive cars that gave the game the rejuvenation that was intended with the 2.10 patch.

Cheating the system was not addressed at all.

I never go into an unlimited room because someone always brings in something that is not in the spirit of competition.

It's possible to keep illegitimate DLC cars and you can still use DLC paint without paying, so I wouldn't exactly say that's been fixed.

Other than what I mentioned, nothing else has really changed.

PD made it less accessible to hybrid cars, and most of the hybrids were reset to their original states. Like MuoNiuLa said, we can't do certain swaps anymore, so we can't remake those hybrids that got reverted.

So, if the game has been updated, and if there isn't a second PS3 or a GT5 from a different region with the patch 2.11, those "older" hybris are pretty much gone.

Yes, hybrids can still be done, but it's not the same thing.

No I have not updated and have not picked up GT5 since the update and Im enjoying other racing games.I can enjoy my interesting realistic hack cars I made like my cl600 with the updated twin turbo v12 from the SL600 and 4matic AWD on split screen with my friends when I get ready to play GT5 again.Online I had fun for two years at SSR7 and Crcuit De La Sarthe but I can live without it especially all the JDM only and Honda only ricer boy rooms like Japanese cars are the only and best cars ever made (ya right) though I love Lexus, and infinti/nissan.You barely have people online who actually know about cars in general anymore they can only name Honda engines like the K20 and H22 and thats the fastest cars they probably have ever been in.There are plenty of 4 cylinder FWD/RWD small cars like the pontiac solstice,1983 Nissan Silvia or N/A v6 G35 sedan that will out run and over power Hondas. They dont want any other cars with similar specs that pull on Hondas so they label the room Honda only. Ya I can defenitely live without online to enjoy my motor swapped cars with my local friends when I feel like playing GT5.

I went back to iRacing since 2.12 came out, most likely never updating, it's actually a lot of fun playing with the secret menu options in Arcade mode, but it's rare that i even put the disc in anymore.

I just still find it hilarious how they patched all the realistic creations, then next thing you know, 50.000hp-100.000hp cars are still kicking up smoke and sparks, though i am perfectly content with my wingless 1020hp supra. that will do for me. i wonder what chunch houston's reaction was when and if he ran into a hacked car after 2.12..

Yeeepp. It's slightly irritating, but besides that I am content with GT5. Just been doing testing with the hidden tires for drifting lately

Apparently, after some researching(not me, members on NGU) Racing super soft Type V tires are mainly for Drag racing, Came across this after deciphering and searching the games code,

Where as Racing super soft Type C are for super qualifying.

Yea. From what I read, (V) is literally for velocity (more longitudinal grip), and (C) for cornering (more lateral grip).

If it's just a simple check, why didn't they do it in the last update. I think as far as PD is concerned, they are done with hybrids. Time will tell.

It's not the same thing, no, all the worst of hybriding remains, and the creative part that was actually good and positive for the game is gone.

At least you can still give yourself the weight reduction tickets. It is a vast improvement on the heavier cars and not very useful on the already light ones. Let's hope they provide some type of addition that bring some of the modding ability back.

So they are just test tires, to test the different aspects of the tires just in that format. The tires are basically useless if you use them for racing. But they can be used for drifting and drag.

Some cars come with them stock (as in when you install a say comfort soft. The car will have one of the three sets). That's why they are faster than others

Already did :(

As long as you didn't view your modded cars, you can go back and you will not have lost anything.

I've gone back and forth 5 times in 3 weeks. The announcements on the 15th might help me determine whether I stick with the update or revert one last time.

You just said what I just said, not in the same words but you did.

I was racing online tonight, and a few times in the last few nights, and I simply don't care anymore. I've lost the desire to win so I'm in the process of reverting again.

Maybe I'll stay with 2.11 again. Besides, there's Academy coming soon. That should hold me until Fall.

Still no update here. In fact, I haven't even played GT5 since a couple days before the update was posted. Talk about sudden loss of interest.

Funny, I'm getting the love back with the return to 2.11. Knowing that PP increases more with torque rather than horsepower is an interesting challenge.

I gained 11 seconds in a 430 Scuderia by swapping the engine with the one in from the F10.

Finding new possibilities is where it's at. I'd go back to a 2.13 update if they would just ignore the engine and suspension swaps.

I'm just about to jump on GT5 for the first time since the update went live...
Will I be updating? Still haven't decided.

I'm still kind of mad that they decided to ruin everybody's good time. GT6 is probably coming out soon, and being able to do engine swaps actually made me want to play GT5 again. I go online once in awhile now on 2.12 but it's not as fun.

That's what they should have done to begin with. Maybe set a hard 2000hp limit and just let people have their fun. If people wanted to have lobbies free of it, they could still have private lobbies and play with people they knew weren't doing any hacks.

I'm content to stay offline until the release of GT6. I'm eager to hear what customization means in the new game.
