Yes, there are countless threads already for this, but this one has a slightly different purpose.

Simple: Will you update to 2.12? Yes, or no?

My answer: no. Goodbye online play.

Already have, sadly. I lost my beauty, my baby, my pride-and-joy...A 1969 Camaro Z28 with a 2J engine (loved hearing her 8.3 litre Aluminum-Block Chevy V8 roar). And now, I'm forced to listen to the generic NASCAR engine sound the titanium racing exhaust makes, which is on like 50 other cars. :yuck:
Good job PD...good job. You have successfully ruined your reputation with the realistic hybriding community.

Yes, I've had enough fun with hybrids and making them. From a GT86 with a NASCAR V8 to a Honda Z ACT with a kart engine

Losing my hybrids wouldn't make me upset, but It was fun having them.

Given the choice of losing my mods or losing online, I'll lose online. My mods are interesting cars and I can experiment. Online has gotten tired.

Online is dead to me anymore. Any racing series I try to organize anymore gets less than a handful of signups anyway and I don't do public lobbies, so this is where GT5 starts to die for me...

I have...

Thankfully though, my FD3S had survived, since I've only done a color change. During the hybrid time, my beloved Amemiya FD3S had only gone through a color change. From that hideous light blue color, to a Competition Yellow Mica, then to a much more elegant Innocent Blue Mica. (Yeah, that's the car in my avatar.)

My other cars, which involved swapped parts, dropped suspension, etc., were reverted back to normal, after viewing them in the garage.

What saddens me though is that most of my cars now have huge gaps in the wheel wells, such as the S15. :(

I'm reinstalling.

You'd better believe that if I get another account that I can upgrade to 2.12, I'm using super soft tires to cheat myself wins simply out of spite.

It was fun while it lasted. While I may miss my V8 powered, 4WD 9-Speed Volvo S60 that was a fabulous cruiser, I thankfully didn't make anything else that I'd be too attached to. But the question is, what happens to you hybrided cars? Are they removed from the garage, or do they revert back to stock? What about wingless cars, do they just appear with the wing or are they gone too? I quite liked my harmless wingless Civic. :guilty:

Edit: Wait, my monster Miata! That was my favorite hybrid. :indiff:

Luckily for me, I got an HDPVR from my friend, so I think I'm going to drive every one of my cars around the Nordschleife, and save the video. Then I'm going to paint every "unpaintable" car I own, and do the update. I have too many friends on my list that I don't want to completely sever off from, especially a few leagues I love running.

I'm making a bunch of these in assorted colors. I'm attached to my Green Mica Metallic one, and I'm especially attached to my Blu Dino Met. 330 P4. :(

I might gold everything and hook myself up with a cool 20,000,000 before updating come to think of it now.

Cars reset to normal specs in your garage. Thankfully they weren't feeling too cold-hearted and let you keep the cars.
Cars that had their wing removed gain the stock wing back once again.
Thankfully hidden tuning parts like stage 5 weight removal and super soft tires stay.
Paints or tuning parts that have been added with modding stay as well. Thankfully I haven't lost my warehouse full of silver and gold chrome paints.

Good idea. I may have to take some pictures of my Monster Miatas as a tribute to all the crazy hoonage I had in them.

I will be happily updating to 2.12 and be very happy that the days of 1000hp Civics are over. :)

Yeah, I updated. I like playing online. I didn't do any hybrids or anything though. Am gonna miss seeing some sick rides though. Oh well, can't have your cake and eat it too.

I think that's the best thing that has come out of this update. The overpowered cars are gone.

Yep, I'll gladly update. I never took part in any modding or "hybrids" so there is no reason for me to decline the update.

Now I can break in new cars on Route X online with some mates without worrying about some idiot finishing 3 laps in a minute with a 999MPH+ car.

In a couple weeks there will probably be a new tool.

Either way, I've updated since A) I never participated in the modding and B) I'd much rather drive online with my friends than have a RWD, wingless R34 or a Re Am FD3S that isn't an eye sore if I did.

I have no reason not to. That this update means the end of hybrids doesn't bother me.. As I didn't do any. Wonder if there's some kind of reward..

It was the only way to make the game more interesting. I personally didn't play the game for 2 or 3 months until i heard about this. The normal game is dull, uninteresting, and bullyish in a way.

PD drags their feet with updates, dlc, fixes. But when WE the consumer get so bored with the game to the point we have to hack it to make it better..PD wastes no time and takes action right away.

Guess it's back to V8's that sounds like Honda's, 25mm of suspension adjustment, and terrible wheel offset. What a joke...

It's been three months since the hybrids appeared. Hardly "right away".

You need to think outside of the box.

You and the people who enjoyed Hybriding are the minority. And hacking was an over-all negative to the majority of the community and that's why its gone

For most of us, the game got worse when you started playing. If you dont like GT5 you should put it back in the cabinet for another 3 months and let the people who do, do.. Just sayin..

Unfortunately for all those who confused modders and cheaters, PD only killed the mod community. The cheaters still have access to their super soft tires.

Do you have exact numbers to state people who hybrid are in the minority? Alot of them could have just been using them offline.
