I don't really believe the opponents are between 400-500PP... That said, it's nice that PD are using PP for single player events, hope to see more. 👍

Well it looks like I've got no cars in the "fun" range at the moment. The OCD could have used an update this week with some good challenge suggestions.

[edit] Oops, spoke too soon :) Looks like there are some good picks in the OCD :D

I just noticed it did update with a lot of cars in the series. Highest HP car in the OCD that qualifies has less then 130hp ( without oil change ) so anything up to 150HP should provide a decent challenge

Similar to the Ferrari Formula Challenge with high end cars I would have loved to seen a battle between the Mark IV / Miura / 330P4 / Giulia TZ2 but with recent trade restrictions and credit cap it probably would have caused another explosion

These races are so depressing. At first I thought yay: got my 69 Stingray and went at it. Soon I realized that I was following yet another funeral procession. Seriously the Seasonals must be intended for Pre-Beginners. Why can't they give the damn AI some tricked out cars with racing slicks for once. Why must the challenge be for us to pick the puniest least fun cars to drive and use comfort tires? All I could think was I wish the race was a combination race and drift trial: you have to beat these guys all the while earning 20k drift points. AND then since the cars are so slow (and small) they put the last race on a miniature kart course and don't let you beat them with an actual cart!

Pretty easy, boring, not very rewarding...

First race: Camaro RM 530PP? Cakewalk
Second?: Alfa T2Z blahblah - easy
Third: Toyota 2000GT - super easy
Last two? Actually some challenge in a 400ish PP modded S800 Race.

meh...

Read a few posts back - the OCD has some good contenders for a real challenge. I'm gonna gradually work away at these tuning as little as possible til I can win them.

PD is really bi-polar.

First they give us an amazing Eifel track with the Ferrari F1 challenge, then this rubbish track version...

They give us "more races" but with the DOUBLE or TRIPLE of time to update them...

These guys are really amazing from a psychological point of view...

Really.

Bummer, was looking forward to these all week. Sounds like they're not even worth making Bob stop B-Specing.

It's the end of the world! The races are too easy! The payouts are too low! The races are crap!

Boo hoo!

Could be worse...

Darn i really wanted some more exp awarded for these races. Oh well ill still check em out when i get back home

I actually like the new seasonals despite the low payouts, as it let's me race my VW Beetle '49, and win! :)

Can you win every race with a stock Citroen 2CV Type A '54? Since the answer is "No" that means you are going into the races with too much car. Back off a few steps, use your imagination and have some fun!

Doubt very much you'd get far with stock. But a tuned 2CV, hmm, I might actually try that next.

i've got an ol' ghia sitting around i may try this with.

just ran the cape ring in S800 RSC unmodded, fun race lose positions on the straight's but kill them in the corners

Having lots of fun trying these with the Fairlady 2000, the Corvette Convertible, and the G4 (that thing is spunky!) all from the OCD. Glad I got a chance to try these out, they're all great fun to drive!

The Spider, the Isuzu Coupe, Giulia Sprint, Cosmo Sport would all take some more tuning but probably also fun projects. Gonna try and win at least one race with as many of these cars as I can.

I beat these with the following:

Ford GT Race Car (50% power, on rain tires, all aids off, mostly quarter throttle the whole time.)
VW Karmann Ghia (Fully Tuned at 118hp, by miles)

These are a joke...

Could be better. A lot better in fact.

I've decided to just be always disappointed when it comes to seasonals. I expect there to be no weekly update, no new TT or DT, no OCD update. That way I can be pleasantly surprised when they do show up even if they are boring....

So..now that the seasonal events are now basically A-SPEC EVENTS , not bonus races with huge payments , shouldnt we be able to play the races offline?!!?!?

Well, in that sense, they've always been a joke. I tuned up my VW Beetle with a PP still well below what everyone else supposedly has, and I still won Eifel in my first try by 17 seconds. But, that's what you get used to, so you start to take it a little easier on the tuning, or take a much slower car to start with. At least here you can take a slower car. Not like with the F1 races, where you run off track, fall 7 seconds behind, and then can make it up within the same lap.

The only thing I wished, and I've seen it suggested many times on these boards, is that the payout was made depended on the car. The lower PP (or whatever measure) the car, the more you get. I think that would make these races fun, as you can try to get more and more, using less and less powerful cars while still trying to win the race. And while some do that even without the payouts, it would be awesome if you'd be rewarded accordingly.

Why not try out one of the Alfa Romeos? They seem to be interesting rides that can give you a challenge if you're bored racing this event with muscle cars. Or look at the typical opponents list on the first page and just pick from one of those.

Just did them in the Alfa TZ2 (pp c. 524) I won in the B-spec Historic event, first drive, on racing hard tyres it came with. Great fun, if an easy win. For the first time did complete races from cockpit view which was a great experience as well.

I might try my Alfa GTA for more of a challenge later and to try another car.
