I've only encountered 1 punter here so i'm pretty happy with this race. I was a little worried because I'm not used to this track but after a few runs I feel pretty comfortable, even managed a win. The best feeling tho is being a (US) driver on the last turn in a ZO6/Tuned against a (JP) driver in a S2000 and beating him across the line. USA! USA!

(...) so I jumped in the Z06 instead and now its doing 1'44's per lap in free run but with a slight possibility if I push too much it will do some nice doughnuts, going back to test this in race now ;)
Wow, I really suck at setups. My Viper is still doing 1'46 laps...

Or maybe it isn't the car, I'm just not that familiar with the track, namely some lines and braking points.

Need more practice, as I really like this combo with the 750pp cars running on R1's, and a pretty cool track.
Pretty bumpy, it's hard to set up a good suspension.

There might be the odd other car, but ultimately only these 5 will be competitive.

The Blitz Dunlop Skyline has been working for me, not had any wins yet but some second places behind the inevitable GT LM Test cars. I just need to figure out a decent setup because being a drift car it's a little tail happy even when set up for the track.

I noticed this too, most of my old tunes are bottoming out and/or dragging on this track. So up the ride height goes! (or really stiff suspension which I wouldn't advise on most RWD cars)

Yeah, I've softened the suspension a bit and increased the ride height a bit too, mainly at the rear. But not much.

Did 3 more laps on free run, my best so far is a 1'46.556.
But I'm still a bit off on this track, can't get some braking points, mainly the one before the chicane, braking from about 300km/h.
Anyone has any point of reference for this braking?

Another thing I noticed while doing a race right after (final time of 5'40 and 2nd place, don't know if it's any good) is that fortunately the punters are scarce, because this track can be punter heaven.
Lots of strong brakes with some corners having huge grassy surroundings, meaning you'll skid on ice for about 10 seconds before you can get back to the track, if you get shoved there.

I've noticed that, I got hit today by an out-of-control driver in that chicane just after turn 1, knocked me onto the grass so I had absolutely no chance of braking for the hairpin, just went skating across the grass, right over the circuit and into the barrier :grumpy:

Tried out the Vette and the Viper in free run this morning. The Viper has better brakes, but the Vette is faster for me. My main problem in the Viper is that it doesn't turn very well on the brakes, and as soon as you let off the brakes it understeers which makes it really hard to get a smooth line through the hairpins. You have to brake earlier in the Vette, but it drives through the corners better.

Vette: 1'44.5 (saw splits that were .900 faster before the bus stop, so 1'43.5 is definitely possible).

Viper: 1'44.7 (ran this after the Vette, so I know the difference can't be attributed to better track knowledge).

I love it at daytona I got a pretty good (IMHO) set up for it send me a pm if yah want to try it out. Ive won a few with it, youre right its quite tail happy but i think thats why i like it :P

YAY Quitters! So instead of punts 50% punt rate..I will have a 50% DC rate with my stats..

A few of us are in the chat racing..

10 pm EST

:eek:Can't believe it. I won twice in the Evo X tuned! Had a few 2nd and 3rd but never thought I could win in this car. Only one DC.👍

Yes tonight was a good night for racing..there were a few racing incidents..but I did fair a lot better than usual..I love this track..its such a ..Nascar type track..

Kart racer...I believe one of those second place finishes was because of me: Racecleanstupid.

HEH.. Good racing.

If i had 1 more lap I would have beaten you kart! Good racing man, started in 10th and got to 2nd only losing by 1.5 secs. or so. Hope to catch you on the track again 👍 👍

PM sent, cheers 👍

It is good fun that car, and I like driving a car that stands out so much in the races, only the GT LM is another liveried car but it's black so doesn't really stand out.

Always funny using a drift car to beat the racers too :D

I'm getting more satisfaction from this event by driving slow cars- eg. IS-F, AM Corvette - than anything else. I guess I'm tired of racing the same old Tuned Cars, or in the case of other events, the same old boring AWD cars. I recommend giving it a go, get in a car that isn't normally entered, or will not even likely be competitive.

That's exactly what I'm doing in Suzuka 600PP, racing the tuned Skyline Coupe. How often do you see people racing those in that event? Really, you don't see too many Blitz's in 750PP either, which is why I'm racing that.

im running it right now if anyone is on 6:52 CST gonna start every ten min, o and they fix the other user thinggy so now im GTP_Zodicus!!!

I had some good races last night... late night. I was in the tuned vette. No punting, no disconnects, Most of my ruined races were mainly my fault, pushing too hard. I think i got the hang of this car though. hope to race you guys soon. look for PSN: EFF-You or PSN: SAN-Tee.

Now my next challenge is to win with a Evo IX tuned. pp at 707:scared: Best finish so far, a couple of 2nd 's. Still has a slight push, needs more work. My next challenge is to win with a mwd.

Got a good few wins earlier on in the Blitz ER34, traction is lacking compared to the 4wd Skylines and the Ford GT but it's absolute lightning once it's got traction, and pretty good on the brakes too, really stable.

Had a few punters earlier though, but in general I've had some really good racing in this international event recently.

So did 80% of PAL take a hike or do most PAL guys just dislike Daytona?

I want lots of fast PAL guys like we had for the WE at Suzuka..

Where are you PAL guys? WHERE!

Daytona Road is great...I don't get punted every bend..In fact if you look at my Stats..punts are way down from WE suzuka...Disconnects look like they are going to dominate at least 30% of my races..But my only other complaint is skilled racers.. If it weren't for DC and punters I would have won just about every race I've run... So, all I want is some competition now.

Great races Drama-kyd, Jaczilla, Hamilton...

Look out for gamegangsta..He is fast!

PAL guys are probably just in 600PP Suzuka, I know I am (I dislike 750PP, which is a shame because I would like to do more Daytona road races)

Nice how you keep looking back even in the middle of the corner.. :cheers:

CWR, my summer holiday is about to be over, so much less fun in the night for me now... (this includes gt5p too) :(
