I have had 3 truly bad online expieriences (newest-oldest):

Incident 1- I am playing in a free run room at Cote d'Azure with a few random people, which I am enjoying until a player joins. He then goes on to drive the Nissan 2020 (which I'm okay with) and rams me on virtually every corner for multiple laps at full speed. I decide to ignore it for a bit to see if he will get bored of it and move on, but eventually give up and vote to kick him. Happilly the room owner uses their head and I left of my own accord instead of being kicked.

Incident 2- I join an other free run room at London in which the room owner and a few others are driving Lotus 97Ts, which I do not have a problem with. I then drive my XANAVI NISMO Z, which any normal person would see as reasonable in this scenario, but I then get kicked. I then messaged the guy asking what I did, and apparrently I was not allowed to drive that car. Why? GT500 < Lotus 97. I have since also see him hosting fake JDM lobbies too (I can tell by the lack of capital letters which real JDM lobbies have).

Incident 3 (I hope Jordan is reading )- I join yet a friend's UK laws room (I am aware that they don't really have a place in GT online) just to go for an easy drive for fun (seems that I only come to grief in free run lobbies ) in which I am having fun for a good hour or so until a player with PSN (and I bet his GTP name is the same) of. I then attempt to politely get him to follow the rules, and what happens? He just goes on to swear continuously at me, telling me that I'm a c**p driver and telling me to **** off, both in the lobby chat and through PSN messages because apparently me politely asking him to follow rules was somehow bullying him. I then go on my backup account to join a lobby he was in and report him, before getting my hacker friend to ban him . Since the (almost) all is well for me online so far. :)

Just a heads up friend, naming and shaming is quite heavily frowned upon on here so you may want to edit the names out.

It doesn't matter who it is or what they did, naming and shaming brings too much unpredictable vigilantism from other players for the named person so we don't do it, yes even hackers get that cover but that's why we report them all too Sony.

We aren't allowed to post names in this thread, you should edit the post to remove them before you get in trouble. :)

Oops... like I just had to. :dopey:

I'm glad that I have a friend who can ban people from PSN, so when I'm playing GT6 with him, I can get away with a little more than I should.

It is funny to hear about someone getting banned for 30 seconds.

I had a kinda interesting experience last night, I was in a 'slow cruise lobby' with no warnings. The host, who seemed to be a nice guy, talked to another one.

I pulled out my Isotope Green Lambo Reventon because I love driving in 2nd gear with it at 30 kph and then hit the gas so I can hear the awesome sound of the V12 slowly climbing up the rpm ladder up to about 6000 I think, where I am at about 110 kph.

I never drove faster because it was a slow cruising lobby.

Then, there was some accident at the corner before the tunnel at Cote d Azure and I had to stop. When the road was clean again, I reved my engine up once and then I slowly drove of again.

Half a lap later I heard 'Kick the Lamborghini' and I was kicked.

Is it wrong to rev the engine or to fully accelerate while cruising, I mean for me cruising in reallife is relaxed driving while showing my cars potential once in a while.

I would recommend not going to a lobby with people you don't know, as stupid crap like that would happen.

My guy isn't a hacker, he's actually a PSN moderator.
Oh ok so its for bannable stuff i see.. I was in a boost room earlier and people were raging then everyone got kicked and i got a lobby error [400] and had to reset my network settings lol.. it reeked of hacker hijinx

You know too many people in high places buddy! Lol
EDIT: Just remembered something from the other day so I'll contribute, I went into a room titled "Corvette LM and Camaro LM Only" So I go in and what do I see? Two guys driving a Chapparal 2J and a Pagani Huyara, I knew then that this would probably end up bad, but against my better judgement I jump in with my Camaro LM and the guy in the Chapparal thinks he's something special because he whooped up on the Pagani and he says that he can also beat him in his Enzo. I just keep practicing and these two guys line up and are going to race and the host tells me (The rule abiding gamer) to jump out and let them run their race, so a little frustrated but patient, I jump out and let them duke it out. After they get done I tell the guy in the Pagani that I'd like to race him in my ZR1 street car and he tells me to bring it out and so I did and I start lapping Daytona waiting for him to come out and all of a sudden the host gets on the mic and says "Can you even read english??? The room title says Corvette LM and Camaro LM only" (The irony of this is the guy with the Pagani was Greek and spoke fluent english but he never got the first reprimand) and the other 🤬 with the Enzo says "Yeah bro, get real or get out" So I proceeded to leave the track and I typed in the chat "What the 🤬 were those two guys just driving????? 🤬 You," And as I was exiting the room, Mr. Enzo replied with "We're his friends, we can break the rules f:censored:t" SMH.....

Well one time I got kicked for doing burnouts at the drag strip.
Probably because kids watch street outlaws and see that they don't do burnouts and wanna be just like them. They need to grow up and go to a real drag strip, it'll be a learning experience and a quite enjoyable one as well, I've been a spectator and a racer at the drag strip, and the atmosphere is incredible for both sides!

There actually is no point to doing a burnout to warm the tires in GT6 as they are warm when you leave the pitlane in practice or freerun mode.

Definitely had one today.

I joined a lobby for One-Make races, assuming the racers in there would be polite, because it was labeled Clean.

Well, I was horribly wrong. Being the only American in the lobby is somehow a bad thing, because after I complimented everyone in the race, I was called 'an American sh--.' Shrugged it off because it was lacking creativity, so we raced a second session.

Then all hell broke loose. Nothing but demeaning jokes about being American and the racers bumping me left and right because, according to them, I was driving dirty. Nevermind their connection was bad and their cars kept twitching around Indy.

After costly setbacks, I caught up fairly easily. I even set the best lap without slipstream, I thought I had a chance at winning. Well, nope. Spun out at a crucial turn, and all I hear over the mic was, 'The American's dead last!' followed by harsh laughter. I was so humiliated.

It's a shame that there are still people like that, insulting people simply because of the flag next to their PSN. You'd think with the international fanbase, people would be more worldly ._.

That makes sense. No kidding you said some misleading things in regards to updates. He hasn't a clue. I'm guessing Sony wouldn't be too happy to find their customers, some of which pay for plus and all of which buy their products, get screwed with by a mod for a few min. They want moderators to either ban or leave players alone. That is a given.

You always say too much, sir. Good thing that is cached. I am also willing to bet that "your guy", would not be happy that you're off telling people about him and his antics, either.

Psst, he's banned.

Oh. Well now. My mistake, hadn't the slightest clue :/

Ok, back on topic. I've been seeing a trend lately that people who do not have the outside line are surprised when the person who has the inside moves up the track as the apex flares out towards turn exit. Not going to slow down...so you can stay on the track and pass me on the outside of a turn. If you commit to the outside line, be prepared to back off as you both exit the turn. You're not a retaining wall or bardge board :)

I'm guessing you don't play online games much? If you see everybody lagging, there's only one person who definitely is. You. (speaking from experience)

Still, that doesn't excuse them when it comes to abusive remarks, the best thing to do in that situation is just leave. Who wants to stay in a room with people that rude?

- In some lobby's/room's, as soon as I enter a hater shouts "FLAG" and I get kicked. Some have the 'slow connection' excuse. How do they know if I have a slow connection or not when I didn't enter the track yet ? They don't. I have a 20mb and a 100mb+ lines. It's just pure racism. Thats why a lot of Arabs and South-american players have a fake American, U.K or Canadian flag, so they don't get kicked for no reason.

- Another issue which is hillarious to see. When a girl is in the room/lobby. Everyone try's to act cool, be funny, and polite to you (if you know the girl or she's talking to you). But if the girl doesn't like you then you get cussed out like theres no tommorow, then kicked.

- People that want to watch you drift. They are either too close behind, so when you drift you loose speed while they maintain thiers', and eventually ramming you, without an apology. Or driving along side you. This confuses me. How are you going to watch me while you're next to me ? So I just wait for the right moment and drift/ram them off the track or into the barrier's. Just get off the track and watch me with the view cam.

@mistersafeway: Yeah, could've been me, but it was weird though because the first race wasn't so twitchy; And it was my fault, I shouldn't have stayed :( I had no idea things would escalate. Next time, I'll definitely leave once things get kinda hostile.

I have played online on GT5/6 for a while, though, and I don't really experience hate like that, so it took me by surprise.

@IGNAI: I had no clue that anyone hid their nationality :( That's really not cool... One of the things I love best about GT6 Online is that you can race with just about anyone. It's also awesome to see all these different flags being represented. Racism shouldn't be tolerated, but in the end, it's their lobby, and I get we have to do our best to avoid those :/ Meeting jerks online is just a part of the experience, I guess. At least it keeps this thread alive though XD

So after our (forced) holiday from GT6 online, I decided to go back on and race a bit.

First lobby- disconnected
Second lobby- kicked from a room called "Only cruising" after someone said I was speeding... at 60 MPH... with no mention of a speed limit any where.
Third lobby- failed to join
Fourth lobby- joined track (London) and was stuck in the brief moment when your car is just sitting on track (before it says start) for way more than a brief moment.
Fifth lobby- Joined, started lapping in my Elise, got to Grand Casino Hairpin before being kicked along with any non-German people even though the room title didnt suggest any sort of limit like that.
Sixth lobby- frozen out

Stay classy, GT6...

Was in a room today with bunch of guys who knew each other, but no problem. Had been racing for about an hour with these guys. One of their buddies joins. He must have been the better skilled racers of the group.

So we racing and three of us are out in the lead, the recent guy who joined was getting narky because i wasnt just moving over for him. I was in front of him and racing hard. He was late braking into every corner and shooting off the track, and according to him this was my fault.

I let people pass no probs, but my understanding is that the guy behind has to get past me either by out driving me or waiting for me to make a mistake. On the straight i will move over if he has faster car than me.

Seems a shame as the group of guys have their own little league and was hoping to join.
