Worst You've Dealt With Online...

Well.

I tend to get a fair bit of s*** for my stutter, but it never really loses its sting. I was just in an X2014J room and some Southern fried bigot give me a rather impressive schpiel about how "*****ts like [me] shouldn't be allowed to use mics if [we] can't learn how to speak English properly." Adding injury to insult, the host apparently agreed, because I was promptly kicked.

I hate people....

I've never understood why people get crap for that sort of thing

Also, I promise you that many of us aren't like that :)

If I were you I would report him, that is just unacceptable and pathetic for him to do that.

I had been meaning to try just one online race. I had GT5 and never once used online racing. Seeing stories like this is giving me some concern though. Are there any regular lobbies or users that run lobbies that are hospitable to people of any skill level or first time-online racers? It seems like if you're not of x nationality or aren't good enough, you get the boot with no provocation

Try the GTP WRS online events. You'll find a bunch of awesome guys who race clean and help you to improve.

Don't let it get you down man, consider the source. Idiots will always be idiots and will make fun of and mock anything and anyone that is different from them. It's all rooted in their own massive insecurity, lack of education, manners, common courtesy etc. When you leave, they'll pick on someone because he has an accent, then another guy because he's from South America, then another guy because he's Canadian, then another guy because he sounds black. Then they'll laugh at their own self professed superiority, smug in the knowledge they are superior to everyone in the world. And tomorrow they'll still be waking up in their Mom's basement before they head online at noon searching for a job online in their underwear.

My worst experience is not with French people, not with Americans, not with the Japanese, not with the Eskimos, not with any single ethnicity at all. My worst experience is with bad people, as there are bad people in every ethnicity and cultural group, but that doesn't mean we should hold that one experience to the whole general group. As with that, that also means there are good people, and more often than not, I find a lot of good lobbies more than bad lobbies, where everyone is courteous and nice to each other. If anything, I'd just quit if I start getting enough flak and find a new lobby.

@MadMike32 You should know thats borderline, you know thats not even borderline, thats just simple and cruel bullying. Teasing is a word used to downplay it, no thats bullying, report the guy like @fortbo said and leave the lobby. There is no reason someone should try to ruin your experience of a game, and you shouldn't let it ruin yours. All jokes aside, theres many people on the GTPlanet Community that would be glad to let you play if you need a lobby. Good luck.

Quite frankly, I've got used to people being dicks about my stutter. It's very rare that I go a night in GT6 without someone giving me crap about it. That story was just particularly special because I was the one that got kicked.

I hate when people assume crap about you. Oh he has a Canadian flag, let's talk about him in Spanish, he won't understand. Surprise surprise, I DO understand, and I can swear at you better in your native tongue! It's people like that, that set a bad example/reputation for their country - not saying I generalise a whole nation based off of one idiot. *Ahem* Rob Ford.... the Americans got a kick out of him, didn't they...?

Each time I try online race with French people it is a Destruction Derby remake, total crap and if I'm faster than them they're insulting me or kicking me out.

Italians and Americans are my best online gaming experience, friendly and fair races, avoid French people they're 90% brainless angry, not proud of being one.

^This so much.

The French also love to kick people for no reason at all. A colleauge of mine got kicked by one, he wasn't doing anything wrong in the lobby...

Its weird because the worst I have experienced online was bad drivers braking way to early and thinking I rammed them on purpose. I haven't had nearly the experience some of you are saying, and I play online every day. I know bad apples are out there, but I have seen very few. Maybe it's the rooms you guys tend to gravitate towards. I usually join 450pp-600pp rooms, and there is usually clean in the title. Maybe the bad apples like to play with higher powered cars more. I have also noticed more idiots hanging out in drift rooms. Either way I guess I have been getting lucky because I have been enjoying great public lobbies everyday.

I was thinking of doing J.Bieber, K.West, A.Senna, L.Hamilton and a couple of other funny ones  .
Well I made myself "T. Muttonfudge" (Taffyta Muttonfudge) from Sugar Rush (fictional racing game from Wreck-It Ralph, if only it was real and they put the racers in GT6).

I joined a lobby on Willow Springs labeled "race for fun" in a Light Car Company Rocket, completely stock except for race tires. Get out onto the track... immediately some ass in a GTR takes issue with me and makes it his life's work to ram me off the track. Well the Rocket may top out at 137, but if you know how to drive, it's amazing on Willow Springs. The dude in the GTR would catch me on the straights, but in the turns he simply could not keep up at all. Eventually somebody on the comms even said, "I thought that rocket was slow as **** when I drove it, but that guy driving it is a beast" (I had the third fastest time in a room full of 900hp monsters). I ended up doing 40 laps before I got bored and left. Moral of the story: Drive the LCC Rocket on Willow springs. A good lap is somewhere around 1:14-16 with racing soft, and it's loads of fun. I have no problem using different tires, but if RS is available, I'm gonna use em.

I'm getting frustrated with joining a room and getting kicked. I'll go online to test out my car in a lobby and only join "test" or just for fun rooms and I'll inevitably get kicked. I'm not doing anything but driving and tuning?? I try not to take it personal but ughhhh very annoying. I had lots of fun in GT5 doing track days on the 'ring and stuff but so far I'm not having nearly as much fun. I know I can create my own room but I don't like the pressure of being the host!

I havent really come across anyone in particular thats annoying but im tired of every room becoming a Route-X room. The main host leaves and the new host does a track vote. Why cant the join the other 50 Route-X rooms??

Your name has been replaced with your PSN ID in online lobbies though, which is a shame for those with creative names 💡 .

Yeah, I have noticed when ever it has "clean" in the title. It's usually not.

I have had much nicer and cleaner races when that word is Not in the title.

My worst experiences have also been with French people. I was in a SSRX room once and after a couple of races they started insulting me in french, and attacking me on track.
I find that the most fair racing is usually in British and German rooms.

Luckily, the worst I've seen online thus far are people who refuse to get off RS tires and actually play the game like it's supposed to be played. PD should make it so that road cars can only have road tires. SS tires are already like glue!
Its not like if you put Racing tires on a road car the universe blows up. I use them when I want to relax and just drive. Also, the way its supposed to be played? Isn't it to race right?

I have a question: Why the hell are there so many Quebec or "QC" rooms? Also, many people have QC in their names. I don't understand why I see more QC lobbies than lobbies based in other regions/places. Is it some sort of Canadian pride thing?

Let me say this as well, when I search for drift-only lobbies through the search filter, 3 out of 5 lobbies are QC-only.

French-Canadians are EXTREMELY proud of being French descendants. That's why you see a lot of Quebec players showing that they're from QC. Plus it's a bigot thing, where they will only play with people from QC. Even if you have a Canadian flag, they'll test your French. Luckily though, I get past that pretty easily.

I noticed that. Why, I wonder?

Indeed. If the tyres are limited I don't mind but if they're not and everyone is on RS's, I'll do the same

That makes sense.

Also, to the people that whine about racing softs, here's what you do:
1: Become amazing using tires with less grip than RS
2: Beat people that use RS

Have not been online yet. PS3 is currently in Texas for repair. Question is - has anyone encountered a driver who has messed up this game in the manner gt5 was destroyed by illegally modifying cars? I hope this doesn't occur with gt6, but odds are, it will.

It probably wont happen until later. Even if it does, modders will keep it to themselves offline and away from the community until the end of the game.

As for the tyre situation, I only use Sports Hard and Comfort Softs,, or maybe Comfort Mediums. No need to go to RS if you know how to control the car, and use balance properly. #Tōge

Even if the whole room is using RS, I wont switch. Unless it's drag racing. Using CS in a Drag room is like shooting yourself in the foot.

Like @CallmeDan said, practice with lower grip levels. However taking an RUF BTR around in CH tyres isn't advisable on your first try....

I use different tyres to control the feel of a car. My tuned Viper is absolutely useless on a track without racing softs, whereas I will frequently downgrade the tyres on certain cars to help make them more predictable. And I like kicking the tail out ever now and then.

Same here regarding using different tyres. ;)

The Avantime I recently built uses a staggered tyre set-up, tyres with more grip at the front (SS or RS) and less grippy tyres out back (SH or RH) to help the car turn in a bit better and also feel more fun to drive IMO.
