Got the full game installed now. Wondering if anyone can offer tips. Only full rally games ive played is dirt2/3. So I try this, and even after setting the difficulty to 20% Im getting last in the first two races in road to glory. Granted these runs are far from perfect, occasionally crashing and improper gear changes. But even on a decent run still 20+ seconds behind 1st. Any generic suggestions?

Listen to your co-driver and drive careful.
A stage was only finished successfully, if your car is undamaged.

I finally managed to tear myself away from Borderlands 2 to try the PC demo with my G27, I must say, I like it. It reminds me of the original Dirt, which I really enjoy even now as a less-serious-than-RBR-but-more-so-than-Dirt-3 rally game. I think I may even pick it up as I'm not convinced there will be a sale on it soon and I'm a sucker for almost anything with cars in it (I do own Shift 2, after all).

Can you elaborate on this? Do you mean stuff like sponsors/R&D?

That also kinda sucks if you can't use any car everywhere. Don't understand why they would remove that

It's still there. Just structured slightly differently and called road to glory instead. You can use any car you just select free run from within road to glory. :)

Does not matter how good you are in racing / rally games. If you still enjoy it playing then it's for you 👍

Yeah, I suck at RBR but that just makes me enjoy actually finishing a stage more! I bought WRC 3 last night from Amazon US, had to add a US billing address to my account to do it though. I had a quick go this morning and was nearly late for college, I can't say I'm planning on getting stuck in when I get home though as Borderlands 2 is still commanding most of my free time.

Yes, I just got the PC version and it's great, I'm not a fan of rally but this might do it. And actually I like the menus, it's fast and simple few buttons and you're racing

I play WRC3 on PC, mostly online, i can join and play others server and make a server self and can race agains others. But i have a problem, when i make a custom Rally cant choose the country and stages self. I can see that the others can make modified rally of their coise. Do someone knows why cant make modified rally of my chooise.

I picked this up over the weekend - I've not played it much yet but I'm liking what I've seen so far.

One question though - there seem to be a lot more versions or classes of cars available in the Road to Glory mode than in the WRC mode. Is there any way I can set up a full rally (or even a championship) using classic cars for example?

Hello everyone, I leave you a new video:

WRC 3 - Rally Guanajuato Mexico / Volkswagen Polo R (Dual View) [Ultra Graphics Settings DX11 / Full HD]

Furi's WRC Challenge 1:

WRC cars, Col De Turini - heavy damage.

My time, in Loeb Citroen DS3, 3:10.3 (controller) - can you beat that?

Flawless for me other than scraping wall on last turn of the stage and losing 0.5 there.

Anyone? Interested to see how I stack up...

As expected from IGN. One of the comments below summarized my thoughts exactly about the review;
So, are we surprised that a broken turd like F1 2012 (which is up to it's SEVENTH patch on PC) get 9 when a game that does everything right as far as the sport goes only gets a 5 on IGN? No, we are not.

I sure as hell hope that no-one doesn't buy the game because of this review. For an actual informed, passionate opinion on this piece, check out a site like TeamVVV or InsideSimRacing. Hell, I bet even a non-racing-specific site like Eurogamer would understand the idea of WRC better than Matt does.

Comments like "You’re likely to have to make numerous passes at any track before you conquer it" shows a complete lack of knowledge of how racing games work. What good is it if you "conquer" a track in a racing game the first time? You'd only play each track on F1 2012 or Forza once, and it'd kill a game like Daytona when there are only three tracks anyway.

Ugh, frustrating.

I'd pick apart more that's wrong with the review, but it'd wind up longer than the review itself (and would probably take me longer to write it than the reviewer spent actually playing the game).

Yah IGN reviews are the worst, so biased and scripted towards AAA games and shooters, why even review it?

I tend to ignore racing sim-ish game reviews in the mainstream 'press' and pretty much rely on forums like GTP. Then I ignore them too because of all the pretty cars and buy them all anyway.

IGN page is not worth visiting, and their reviews are not worth reading.

Ill still get my game this Friday 👍 And ill base my choice on what I've experienced in Demo.

Problem with most mainstream sites is that they rarely review these titles with a wheel. Or if they do they fail to mention it.

They give Dirt titles decent scores and penalise WRC for lack of oomph.

Surely WRC3 is the best representation of the sport this gen. There is no competition.
No other developer attempts it.

I just don't get it. I thnk milestone deserve some credit for a decent step up from last years game.

Cars hard to drift without spinning: He wants Hot Pursuit physics.

Same old same old: F1 got a 9!? I played 2010 and 2011 and they were the exact same, only new thing to 2012 is YDT.

unplayability pffft. Best rally game in ages. If I were to complain about anything (Only played Demo) it would be that the cars has too much grip and counter steers a bit sharp. Opposite of his thoughts.

I've just had a good go with the Road to Glory mode, did the first four or five events. I love the Evo IX, the Civic R3 feels like it might not have any front brakes though, whenever I touched the pedal it just went sideways instantly even on tarmac... Cured easily enough with left foot braking so it's no big deal.

In the first multi-stage rally with the Evo IX I had no idea you had to repair the car between stages so I just kind of trashed the thing around the first stage then had to spend all my time fixing mechanical parts, leaving the body totally busted up, luckily the next stage was far more open so I managed to make it round without any damage at all so I had a nice shiny body for the last stage. In that stage I sort of became 'one with the car' or something because I was driving around as if I knew where I was going, gently scraping walls and objects, probably inches away from a massive accident. At one point there was a string of gentle corners and I managed to pick up a LOT of speed, then the co-driver said something about a tight left with a drop outside, just as he finished saying it I realised I was about to barrel right off the cliff but managed to flick the car round, one wheel off the edge of the road, and drifted around barely missing the Armco that started just to the right of where I was... It was perfect and I wish I'd recorded it! So much fun, this game is amazing.

Yes there is leaderboards, I only discovered them last night as I didn't play online yet, you have to go to the multiplayer section to view the leaderboards.

I'm enjoying the game, the physics are ok, but I wish it was more realistic, it's very forgiving and it feels like there is some kind of traction control, which I can't turn off. The rear wheel drive car I have is very disappointing to drive and is impossible to drift satisfactorily.
It's a fairly buggy game too, but nothing that really effects the gameplay. I can see many areas the game could improve, but still it is fun and I think most people could enjoy it.

IGN can 🤬 off. This is best rally game since RBR. Thats what, 7 years ago? And that was PS2.

I've tried the demo only once and kind of liked it but wasn't immediately persuaded or blown away (the fact I only tried it once says something perhaps, the fact I didn't immediately delete it says something else ;)), will give it another go but before that, are the physics in that demo similar to the final game?
Just to be clear, I use a pad and only use a pad (yeah I know...blah blah blah, simply isn't an option for me right now).

I did it in 3:07.28 with joy pad too, I tried it with the RS200 and got 3:10.** but it was much more fun.

I didn't notice any difference between demo and final game, but you can adjust the car settings in the final game and that makes a difference.

I just got the Ford Escort RS1600, and it actually handles much more like a RWD than the Peugeot I had before. It's much more realistic and can drift fairly well. 👍
